See what i mean about no communication? Patch and DLC is out, and no announcement by Adam Bhatti. From now on, let's just assume that he only knows what we know, and we can't really ask him what's going on.

I've just updated the game and... it feels like other game to me! It's much more responsive. Even tricks are more intuitive now.

Well done Konami: you sold an unfinished game and took your time to fix it, but made it right. I'm starting to love this game
 
Still no fouls whatsoever and keepers concede retarded gooals.
My first rage quit on 2014, after all that time. Fuck sake!

But i'm still gonna play the game no matter. Check out Arsenal players in Edit section. Have a laugh!

I admit I've barely played the game since I bought it in September, so can't remember what it was like or how to play it properly, but in my first game post-patch, the cpu fouled me 4 times and my keeper made some excellent saves.

Main annoyance is still some desparately poor player awareness, with the ball still sometimes rolling virtually right through players and they ignore it as if they're not part of the match.

Shooting seems slightly less bad as I remember it but I'll need to relearn how to play it properly to make a fuller assessment.
 
Played 5 games so far with new patch from what iv noticed so far, crosses and shots have a bit more zip which is welcoming, passing and player movement seems smoother as well as tricks. Definately haven't noticed any slow down which is great and as for keeper and player awareness I'm still on the fence need a lot more game to be able to give my verdict although I haven't noticed many players standing and watching the ball which I'm hoping it continues.
 
Ok I can verify the patch has not fixed keeper awareness goal keepers still very slow to respond after they fall for a save after they get up they freeze still allowing for easy goal. Keeper urgency also is still not fixed either, when your through on goal and are one on one keeper still stays on his line when ur in the penalty box and the scripted shot is still there which allows the keeper to save the ball which should otherwise be an easy goal to score. This better be addressed in the next patch dissappointed. This was a very fkn important glitch that needed fixing not fkn faces ffs.
 
Artists deal with faces. The gameplay team deals with goalkeeper tweaks. You can have both.

That said, take a look at Fellaini when you get a chance - they seem to have given him a skinhead and a generic face. SMH.
 
Wow. Either my datapack hasn't installed properly or Agbonlahor, Torres, Lampard, Ashley Cole - they and around a hundred others all have the same sodding face.

That looks like the data pack is conflicting with your existing edit / option file. Especially if you have third party OF installed.
 
I've heard about many players having that skin head generic face; it's a conflict with the option file i think; a guy in wenb discovered the problem, and now the man utd squad has almost full preset faces. I haven't confirmed anything yet, coz i'm on pc, but it seems to be the case; why would they advertise fellaini having a face on the promo then?

Base Copy is a nothing feature now

You can only base copy when you use create player you cannot use it when editing players

If you base copy a player you cannot us the hair as that resets if you edit the face

I'm not too sure about that. At worst you will lose custom kits and saved formation.

The safest way is to reset the player face (and hair) and maybe team formation to default one by one. But it takes too much time. Maybe it's better to wait for updated OF.

The other choice being manually going over each player's face and setting it to preset. So, yeah, that would be the fastest way.
I think OF makers need to release updates to their work because this is gonna ruin a lot of stuff.
 
Gonna give this patch a try in a bit. People are still complaining though about keepers diving out the way of the ball, palming shots into their side netting and not coming off their line in one-v-ones.

Hope it's better but if these problems above are still in the game, I'm out. They're game-breakers for me.

Those problems will not be fixed with a patch
Goalkeepers are doing these mistakes since pes 2011, you can't expect those to be fixed,they really have to rework goalkeepers from scratch
 
Ok, I actually cancelled the Data-Pack download. Changed my mind, figured it might fuck up my GTM OF. From above, sounds like it does. Anyway, it's the gameplay that I'm bothered about the most.

I tried in Training, and scored a couple of decent long-range shots with Rooney, Placebo ? Not sure.

I then played one game in my ML with Boro, Top Player, Advanced Shooting, 1-Bar.

First impressions are very good. The game is so much more responsive. Everywhere. That bleeds over into so many areas and makes the game feel fluid again. I'm using 720 in my PES display settings still.

I found zero slowdown in the final third, even when I deliberately packed the the box with all out attack.

The shooting seems a lot better, and now shows bend and curve on the shots, something that killed me before.

I even saw an attempted first-time strike from Muller, although he screwed it up. Not sure if this is Player Card specific, need to check Muller's Cards. It wasn't possible with my DMF, he still wanted a touch.

The response issues that have now been sorted make a huge difference.

It looks like the keepers still hold a deep position, which will hinder really long-range goals, but then I guess that's the fine line with fun and realism. I can deal with it, I think. More games need to be played. But I actually enjoyed that one game, even if the majority of it was testing certain aspects that I needed to see if they'd been rectified.

One more thing, when bringing out your keeper, I'm getting more success. The reason is now it's like it becomes manual, so you actually have to direct your dive of where your keepers hands are. This is pretty cool actually, I was given the 'eyes' by Ozil, came out and dived in completely the wrong direction. It's not like older PES games in this regard.

I think they've been this way in isolated incidents, overall I've generally been okay with keepers in previous versions. The keepers in 2014 are ludicrous though. Impossible to beat from long range, far too east to beat from close range. I see keepers in PES2014 palming into their own net or diving out the way of the ball virtually every other game.

Let's see if the patch tightens some of this stuff up!

For me this was the case in Pes 2012 and pes 2013 too.
Plenty of innatural movements and mistakes by keepers like palming into their own net

No certainly not placebo. Shooting, slow-down, responsiveness and nearly all of the stuff you mentioned were documented in yesterday 'unofficial' change log.

We've just received word on some of the fixes that we can expect in the upcoming gameplay patch for PES 2014.

Gameplay:

There are a raft of tweaks to the manual controls including (but not limited to):

- '"R2 Shooting' and first time actions (shot, header etc).
- Goalkeepers have better reactions to initial saves
- L1 'Lob Shot' has been worked on
- There has been some work on the reported 'gameplay slowdown in final 3rd', with changes- made to make it as smooth as possible.
- Shooting should also be improved with the 'final 3rd' improvements
- Catch-up has been refined, with the feeling of 'sudden catch-up' now removed
- Player stats decline ion BAL has been fixed
- Double speed can now be implemented when substituted in BAL
- Gameplan cursor speed has been made faster
- User online block list increased - <200%
- 3 players on same team controller bug has now been fixed

As well as this, there have been fixes for the Barcelona away, Inter Milan Home and Motherwell goalkeeper kits - plus others.

At this point, it's worth mentioning that this is a small sample of what to expect - and there's a lot more to come, particularly in the online environment.
