I know it's a game. And that is why I don't kill myself over it. I take the good and the bad and look objectively at things without blowing things out of proportion.

Try to illusion yourself all you want how great PES is. It's not for me and that's sad as I have played this series since ISS days.

There is no illusion. I think you're creating it maybe. I played this series since it's inception, doesn't make me any better. I liked most of them up until the current-gen versions. Some good some so-so. To me this version is the best so far, but best doesn't mean it's the GOAT. It can be one if they got all the issues fixed.

They feel no shame. They didn't even apologize to people who bought their product. NOTHING. We know nothing about what gameplay changes patch will bring.

Communicate with fans, aplogize, do admit that there are problems and you're working on fixing them.

I know they have their mistakes like everybody does. Some are more competent than others. But I'm sure they did apologize a while ago and asked for patience and getting things fixed and should expect it sometime November, no? And were told we will be given information on fixes so let's be patient.

Now he openly said we are beta testers for Winning Eleven and according to our feedback, their game is more complete package thanks to the fixes they implement and that they can't make 2 versions of the game at same time due to lack of staff resources.

I do not think he openly and obviously said the other versions were out for beta testing. Pretty sure what he meant is since they're out a couple months earlier than the Japanese versions then they can take advantage of that to get everything right with the J WE. Why other versions were out before? I guess to get it out there before Fifa. For the J WE they don't need to do that. Maybe they can't be late with the other versions because leagues start in Aug so November would be too late.

And don't really have to state the obvious and say this is all my opinion.

Yea that Adam is a liar. when I think of all the bullshit he sprouted during the summer i don't know who I'm more pissed off with him for bull shitting or me for getting sucked into the PES "this is going to be the best pes ever" that i get sucked into every year. I remember him on wenb if anyone disagreed with what he said they were stupid and didn't understand football or pes and then soon after a ban. If anyone tries to defend him by saying, oh its his job he has to as he would say "big up pes" then fine that's his job but it doesn't stop him from being full of shit falsely proclaimed PES community leader. I mean can anyone one remember when the community voted for that.I like the game ( with gameplay patches) I even liked the simplicity of the masterleague at the start but its just too simplistic to carry on playing it. 4 transfers every week during the transfer window( sorry I mean 4 bids and you then cant make any bids the next week)Purple and blue f**king arrows all over the place for no reason. then there's the regens. I have always hated that regens kept there there name and appearance of there former selves but to also have the same stats is so so stupid. is there no actual programmers or coders at konami that can get that right ffs. I've played PES 2014 on the xbox and ps3 and PC. I personally have found the PES games of the past few years nearly unplayable on the consoles. I've had no PC this week so have been playing it on the ps3 and i don't know if its my ps3 or the game but its just brutal, my controller nearly flew at the wall a couple of times. I dont think a patch can fix the console versions, maybe instead of only making a current gen version of it they should have abandoned the current gen or just gave a patched and updated PES 2013 (like what fifa does most years) and put all their resources into a new gen version for the next gen consoles and PC

It is bound to be sometimes unrealistic and having goalkeepers which are hard to beat would add +FUN factor. I love to be rewarded for goal I score. I don't feel ANY sort of achievement scoring on PES. NADA.

Since 2007 this game is going haywire. They don't know direction they want to take PES to. There is not set goal and their attitude towards fans is not praiseworthy either.

Also do they realize they will LOSE fans in Europe/USA if they don't state beforehand that: GAME IS IN BETA. WE WILL LISTEN TO YOUR FEEDBACK and provide patch at later date. Sorry, but I still feel pissed off at the fact I paid 40$ for broken, unfinished game and have to wait and HOPE for improvement in Novemeber (2 months after game release to wait for official roster update).

Guess it's too hard for hardcore PES fans to see we are in 2013 not in 2003.

That's why I love Hosoda. At least he is honest guy and not throwing bullshit all around the place (remember: he was first one to confirm there won't be any weather effects in game this year, while Adam said, we will see what we can do about that, fingers crossed bullcrap).

Konami lost me in the beggining of the month. I actually returned my game as i feel its a disgrace as a consumer for all this indifference from Konami. I am sure that they are working on a patch to fix all the obvious gameplay bugs of the game, but to not have by now (november 13!) an update roster with the summer tranfers it a disgrace (the game was release september 20th). How hard is that? cmon that its an isult to my face..I really gave up. I am a patient and understanding person but in this case its unacceptale. I a huge fan of the pes series since ISS and i hated the FIFA series till 2008. Since FIFA 08 I was buying the FIFA series every year (along with PES even though it was a huge disappointment) and I was enjoying them very much. I wasn't going to buy Fifa this year due to all the hype around PES2014 with its new engine etc... but I actualy I went and bought it after the disapointment of PES 2014. I am playing a career mode with Man City and I am really enjoying it. Its a finished product. By modifuying some of the sliders, it turns to be an excellent footballl game. I have pre-ordered the next version of the game as well.

I am sorry Konami but patience has its limits

I'm afraid I've given up on the game now.

I've played two seasons in ML, got promoted first season, and reached the Europa League in my second season. There is a lot to like about this game, but the bottom-line is that the shooting mechanics are completely broken. And that's the game-breaker for me.

Never in the history of PES have they got this aspect so fundamentally wrong. And believe me, I've tried every option possible.

The problem is everything is hit 100% true, bang centre of the laces. This means that every strike follows one true direct line. There is no arc, no bending away, no bending inside, no rise, dip with bend. Nothing. It's outrageous really.

In real-life, you barely ever strike the ball 100% true, and even the likes of Gerrard and Lampard, who are two of the most truest strikers of the ball in world football, probably only average about 60% of the perfect laces strike.

Sure R2 gives the bend, but that is what 90% of the goals come from. Initiate a run, through-ball over the top, huge delay with the shot, then into the bottom corner.

It's horrible. I'm playing Top Player, and it's better than Pro for me this year, but I've just beat Liverpool 4-3, and every goal was shit. I felt nothing. Nothing at all.

What a shame.

Oh and one more thing R2 ? Whose decision was it to change that ? The close control option of every PES has been it's trademark. It's everything. Now it means nothing.

What is there to do in Master league?? Play match, advance time, play match, advance time, play match.....
Where are all the other immersive features such as hiring staff, negotiating transfers any time of the year, etc ... ?
its a hollow empty shell with no immersion, substance or longevity. You cant even specify which ball to use in master league anymore!!!

And im sick and tired of playing in the same stadiums week in week out!!! what a ball ache.

Anything and everything Konami could have done to ruin the series, they have managed x 100 with PES 14

PS: R2 is an absolute staple of PES game play and lore, its shocking now, the side shimmies and foot on drag backs do nothing for game play and you never see this movement in a real match.
Gone are those Jimmy Goal Videos from the Boro' showing how R2 helped create the space/movement and control ..

On the top of that, Muller has great heading and jumping stats, so guess what, the CPU just doesn't even bother marking him on corners. So he scores. Can you believe how fucked up that is ?

Cross with L2 and head with square + triangle. I score loads of headers with it.

Nope, and I've tried the above, doesn't seem to pick out the man. Always CPU.

I suppose L2 Manual would be an option, problem is, the game kills me. It's just one of many severe issues that I simply can't overlook anymore.

PES13 is 5 times football experience 14 is IMO. Even with it's flaws. At least it gets so much right. And, the important things.

I'm agree, Despite having a much older engine, PES 2013 provided a great football experience, the best it could with that tech.

This is what it needed to be fixed:

- Improve CPU AI behaviour to play more possesion football
- Bring back league mode
- Remove ML magic boots and accesories
- Sign for other clubs in ML
- Fix ML low scorelines
- Add a better anti-cheat system for online
- Nerf through balls in online
- Increase contrast and saturation for better looking graphics

And it would have been a decent goodbye title for PS3 generation.

This season Konami should have dedicated a few team members to fine-tune and release a improved version of 2013 for PS3/360/PC, while a bigger staff is working at the same time in next-gen version.

im using the xbox 360 version and with the last patch the headers into the area are solved, im using manual shooting. the patch in xbox 360 is the 1.04 version.

I have scored from headers but they're always from a certain type of cross, which is shit in itself because again you end up scoring the same type of goals over and over. I score headers by getting to the byline then pulling back a cross and doing a downward header, but there's no variation to it.

I also score an alarming number of headers from corners, but when you look at the replays it's because the game just didn't mark my players. That happens in football, but not like this.

I agree with recent comments. There's something off with the shooting, sometimes it seems to auto centre itself as in PES2012 and if my shot goes wide it somehow always goes wide in her exact same place every time. I remember how much I loved shooting in PES2011, shots would blaze over unless you got body position and power just right, but in this, all shots seem too truly hit, and yet the keepers seem able to save them with ease.

By the same token, if I'm close to goal, I can aim a shot into the middle of the goal, but as long as I get any height on the shot, there's a good chance the keeper will dive clean out the way of the ball for a goal.

I'm not sure a patch will be able to address these issues. Plus, I tried a ML a while back and got four games in before feeling bored of the mode.

This situation just reminds me of similar thing happening back in the days, but in opposite way. (important: talking solely for PC community users here)

On PS2 PES was superior in every way possible to FIFA (except licenses maybe?). You had variety, no action ever felt the same, goals were hard to get, you felt achievement.

FIFA was stale, boring, repetitive piece of shit. You did the same thing over and over and over again to score goals. Some were sweet spots, others felt very scripted.

Now I believe it's reverse situation. PES feels stale, actions feel the same, AI is terrible, goalkeepers are worst thing ever seen in football game, etc.

FIFA just reminds me of old PES series, but with licensing, better AI, superior keepers, better animations, variety (never thought I would say that about FIFA before). Sure, player individuality is not EA best forte, but you can't take away their progress (they even started to add interia/momentum/foot planting in this year FIFA, maybe not visible on videos, but definitely you can feel it while playing the game with controller at hands). Compare any FIFA from PS2 days to PS3 era to get what I mean.

I won't talk about FIFA vs PES in here any more. I hear that the patch is out on Xbox 360 for some countries, so did KONAMI make any progress?

I´m off Pes bandwagon, Konami´s ass, whatever you wanna call it, for good. It has been too much, for too long. Waiting on ps4 and next gen Fifa 14. Will not be disappointed, for sure. After years of defending the really good, deep things Pes always promoted, i now see them in shambles, non-existant, not important, not needed...

Like PJR and Jimmy, i too felt this blow hard as hell. It has been a 19 year affair, but itís no more. There´s nothing there anymore. I feel nothing playing it. Nothing. Sad.

2013 was criticized, problems: changing player, scripts.
2014 all that and much more, weird shots, exaggerated movements, no response, poorly optimized (consoles and pc) ..
I'm back to 2013 (1.04 version and more patchs), feels more alive, graphically not the best, but you have more control of the game
