Hello there, i managed to extract all the PES files from the PES14 demo. The files are all decryptet with the .cpk format. With a programm called "Noesis" you are able to extract them. To view the images, which are in the .dds format I used the programm "DDS Viewer". Whatever while looking for some files I saw something very interisting. There was a file called "rain" in it. These are the two images I found:

I know that adam wrote that there will be no rain in pes, but at least these pictures looks promising in my opinion. There are also some other interesting images I found, if it's allowed and you are interested, I could upload a few of them.

Just imagine they did that with the NBA. We would never have gotten NBA 2k series. The best of the best.

Fortunately, the NBA has a policy of no exclusive deals.

And what happened.... EA got smoked !

Yep, thankfully the NBA hasn't succumbed to exclusive deals (yet).

EA's NBA game was so inferior to NBA2K and without the exclusive licence card to fall back on, they had to withdraw their game from the market and put it on hiatus, it was that bad.

To be honest, this sort of stuff is happening with football itself. It's no wonder that the clubs and the regulators allow these things.

Konami doing everything humanly possible to plummet their stock, unbelievable

I'm fed up with ignorant comments like this.

I'm sorry you do not understand how much money talks. There is little to nothing Konami can do. EA are all about money! They don't and never have cared about customer service and delivering a great experience. They just want your cash!

If the spend millions upon millions to buy exclusive licences so other games can't put licenses in they will! Konami cannot afford to compete in a battle to secure licenses.

EA can pay top delegates a fortune to do this, which Konami simply can't. But you blame Konami for this?

EA are and have been for a very long time a very disgusting company. Even if Konami secure more exclusive licenses like they did last year for La Liga, EA will not hesitate to blow them out of the water offering 5 times the amount. They do this to other games, have been doing so for years.

Capitalism is not your friend (neither is communism, they are all fucking useless)

That was already found in the PC modding section :) And yeah, it seems like rain is in the game but it's going to be disabled.

Jesus navas how did konami go from all the liga stadia and adboards at liga games to nothing in a year?

Oh yes $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Talking of Jesus:

YouTube - NBA Elite 11 - First Jesus Now Ballerinas?
YouTube - NBA ELITE 11 - THE BYNUM CRUCIFICTION

Just imagine if all Basketball fans had to play that!

Didn't Adam tweet a while back there would be a big surprise for PC users? Something good? Maybe this is it.

the 1 month release date delay will be the announcement :SMUG:

the demo is growing on me... kind of like old pes when you have to play a lot so things begin to feel natural. but there is still a lot wrong like goalkeepers, defensive AND offensive AI (players keep running past the ball for no reason). kind of typical for a pes game really -- a lot of really good things marred by shitty things. hopefully these problems have been cleaned out for the official demo

That so sad! Only 20 stadiums... :BRICK:

Well, I already played quite a few games and these are my impressions!

Pros:

- Animations look amazing!
- Goalkeepers, unlike people are saying I didnt had a single problem with them!
- AI, the AI really plays the game how it should, they retain the ball, and make realistic movements IMO!
- Passing, I really like the manual passing!
- Graphics look awesome!
- Pace of the game is really good for me!
- The ball is REALLY free!

Cons:
- Shooting, still don't like it!
- Menu's, are too slow!
- Responsiveness is awfull!
- Player awerness is one of my biggest complains in the DEMO so far!
- The game is too dificult for me! :P

Very good analysis, im feeling pretty much the same.. this game is haaard.

Although im enjoying the shooting tbh, i hit some crackers with De Rossi last match, didnt go in but still felt lots of power behind it.

Playing this game reminds me of the first time i tested Winning Eleven back in 1998/99 after playing Fifa several years... at first everything feels heavy, hard, sluggish, but after u get use to it, things click and the game starts to really shine, offcourse we wont achive that in this early build(lots of unfinished stuff), but im hoping for the best once the full game comes out.

Good things I'm hearing.

A lot of these things can be fixed via Jenkey's tool. The key is good and varied animations, collision detection (proper physics) and freedom of ball and movement.

It's sounds like the major stuff is looking good.

Lol i just wrote almost the same thing, i think lots of plp are feeling this old WE/PES feeling! Defo a nice thing!

Funny how this year EA decide to really kick up their exclusivity, this is one thing that really annoys me about EA. Don't worry about that, just make a blindingly good game and even if PES have all the stadiums in the world people will buy your product regardless.

This worries me, is this EA's new tactic now? Fuck trying to make the game better, just keep signing all these exclusive deals so people will have to play our game to have the Camp Nou, Bernebau etc..

EA waste enough time on their marketing. If the game is good, it doesn't matter what licences are there and what have you. People will always play it.

I know the teams are totally separate but the marketing strategy is what worries me, they will look and say.

"Oh if we can't compete with their gameplay, then forget that, just put everything into the licences!"

Why can't these people have a mentality of trying to make the best game possible and forget about hype than trying every year to throw gimmicks at people, trick them into buying the game, they find the bugs and flaws and then take the money and run until next year do the same thing over again.
If you ask yourself the simple question "What is the reason behind all this?" the logical answer will always be the following:

An incredibly high percentage of the football game players buy FIFA because it has licences and because it gets promoted as a whole package.

The main problem, in my opinion, are most of the players themselves. How would EA be able to get such a high sales figure if there weren't so many ignorant people who buy their silly game?

I apologise to everybody who might get offended, but the majority of the people who buy FIFA do it because of the licenses and that makes them ignorant and narrow-minded (or put simply: dumb). It's just ridiculous how much the licences matter to most of the people! I really can't stand it and it's inexplicable in my eyes... But the fact is, these kind of silly people give EA the power they need, every year they put out a shitty football game on the market and they get millions of sales.

I bet if some day PES gets the EPL, it would triple the sales immediately, in the exact year this happens...

People are sheep. And that, my dear lads, is going to continue to benefit these jackasses EA unfortunately...

Pretty much nails it.

No Spanish stadiums and only 20 stadiums overall? What a joke. I can't wait to play the El Clásico in the famous El Generico Stadium! Their hands are tied and all of that. Curse you, EA.

Don't worry guys, we have the AFC!

yes, my first match i cannot say enough how much it felt like my players were heavy 500pound slobs, but 3-4 games it begin to feel different, now on 9-10 game it feel pretty good! i actually pass it around now (manual passing) and can attack the ai, but at the start i couldnt get through their midfeild. definetely growing on me, but like i say, there are some very obvious faults

Sad but true.

Both footballing titles have their good and bad points. I have always been a glass half full, always rooting for the underdog, always cheering for the "Peoples Champ" type of guy. To all the gamers enjoying the download I am truly jealous continue to have fun. 10 11 and 13 were all better to me than the other choice so I know that I will be more than satisfied with PES14. However all this waiting sure does suck.

Regarding "stadiumgate", I think EA should be ashamed that a PC modder (CuiRuby) created much better versions of Emirates and Etihad stadiums than EA themselves, with all their huge budget.

So tired of these monopolistic practices.

i can live without the licenses, stadiums, editing, extra candy stuff, etc

as long as the gameplay itself is very good... I will be buying it

but some demo impressions are saying the controls are sluggish and unresponsive???? I mean compared to last years version? I mean if this true.. then what's the point of buying it..? the controls and responsiveness better be better than previous years on Ps3/360 or there is no reason to buy it for me

I wish you guys would stop talking about the whole licenses, stadiums, and editing bullcrap...

i'm more interested in hearing about the gameplay and how it plays

Agree with both, this game is just all about midfield as im learning, sprinting without clear space = loosing the ball.. u can do some real cool stuff with Pirlo, De Rossi, etc.. the way u can protect the ball is ace too, love it.

The glitches and bugs are definatly there, theres no refinament, but lets remember this is a such an eraly build that Konami themselves didnt to go public, because of that all i cant take out of it is the essence/fundamentals of this new engine and im liking it a lot!

Through balls are a lot harder to hit too, specially compared to pes13 wich was a fest.

I somewhat agree, but it's fairly obvious why that's the case. At the end of the day, I'll play whatever I deem to be the better game of football. I've done so since I've made the switch to PES (even though I still buy both FIFA and PES every year) in the early 2000s. With that said, I completely understand why a "casual" gamer would prefer FIFA over PES purely because of licenses.

The fact of the matter is, not every one is as obsessed with football/football games as you, me, or anyone else on this forum. Sports in general have a wide-reaching audience. A lot of people who are casually into video games enjoy watching sports. For them, it doesn't have to be the "perfect" game of football to be enjoyable. People demand authenticity when it comes to sports games because it's representative (at least from an aesthetic viewpoint) of what they watch week in, and week out. Sports are based on real-life, hence people want to play what they see. It's simple as that and completely reasonable. They want to play with the likes of Chelsea in the Premier League, not London FC in the English League.
