ROFL. Only complete fool thinks that way or person completely inept to learn basics of programming.
Football Manager is very structurized game. It is also more basic in some aspects than Pro evolution soccer (gameplay engine is massive difference here -> in FM it is just another derivative from CM series).
There are also things in PES you have to think about: Career Mode, Online modes, physics, AI and other stuff... Which goes under hood.
Also FM is not unlimited either.
I wouldn't mind having 40 to 100 league slots. This would be a plenty still. Add to that ~1000 slots for Stadiums and I believe no-one would be grumpy.
Unlimited leagues/stadiums and other stuff is a dream, never to get realized. Here is a thought: Optimization. Think about it. The program would have to add to itself. This means adding more information to system memory (which as we know is not unlimited). Another problem: people would want at least 50 spots for players in created teams, this means 50 player + correct faces + boots + 2 or 3 kits slots. Again, adding more information to memory (as it's the easiest way for fast access/storing/getting information).
What I meant about optimization, how can people be sure it won't crash at some point? The game would crash. Who would people blame? KONAMI. Because people never, ever think about realistic stuff, they want something added to game, without realizing if it is even possible to do.
I know KONAMI will say they will want to do it... I dare them to try.
I'm not a programmer by any means but I still remember a few courses I had at college and really your post makes really sense to me. Too much unstable content is not worth it, better to limit but to do extremely well in those limits.
