PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Seabass has nothing to do with pes 2013 :p

Yup. And that's why it's been so fantastic. Best pes in years. Better than pes6 and 5 easily.

Ps. FIFA stinks. Same generic crap every year. Like all EA titles.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Okay, played a few games on demo 2, and I love it. The differences between this and the demo are subtle, to me barely noticeable, and I think it's the best PES I've played yet.

Tiny issues in demo 1 that popped up from time to time, like player switching, haven't been an issue (that's not to say they've been fixed, I just haven't had any problems with it yet).

Shooting is perhaps toned down by a tiny percent, but you can still drill shots pretty hard if you know what you're doing. I don't see why there's so much moaning about this.

Passing, well, I don't notice any difference at all. It is 'soft', but you can charge up the bar more to get a really fast, zipped pass along the turf. I think people simply need to adjust to using the full range of the power bar a bit more, it takes more power on shots and passes this year which to me is great as it opens up a greater variety of things you can do with the ball power.

Other little things really stand out though. Controlling Barcelona really feels different to say, Junventus on the demo. You can perform really intricate passing in tiny spaces with Barcelona. Try it with other teams and it somehow doesn't quite come off in the same way.

The only thing I don't like are that long passes, where you could hit quite snappy long, dipping crossfield balls, have been toned down and while the trajectory of those passes remains the same, they are a lot more 'floaty' than before.

There are some changes in the audio. The ball sound when kicked is greatly toned down, you no longer hear a giant 'thump' when you kick the ball, which is vastly more realistic. I think it has an almost counter productive effect in that the toned down kicking sounds trick you into thinking the ball is being more 'floaty' than it actually is.

The other thing I really enjoyed was the crowd sounds when I played between Barcelona and Valencia. Konami have made a real effort to make the crowds sound authentically Spanish, especially when a goal goes in or a chance goes wide. Combine this with the La Liga stadium DLC and Master League looks good this year if you're gonna choose to play in Spain.

Back to the game, I've found dribbling to be more difficult, which I expected as I think they toned down tackling in demo 1 to allow you to experiment a bit more with player ID, but I've still managed to score a solo goal with Messi that had me out of my seat. Player ID is still very noticeable.

I was quite pleased with possession stats too. Most of my games I've had more possession, but at around 54-55% most of the time rather than the incredibly high 70% in demo 1, so I'm pleased with that too.

I just don't get some people's moans about the game. It's not pedestrian at all, just use the power bar more if you want to quicken the pace of the game/passing. It has a range, use it.

Graphically, the game is a slight improvement on 2012, so anyone moaning about the graphics need a reality check. We all knew months and months ago that the game would be virtually the same visually, so complaining about the graphics now seems bizarre.

All in all I love it, it's still a giant leap over 2012.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

please be honest.
Users who have played "demo2"

which is better? and for what reason?

demo1 or 2?.

concern for "Stutter"
ATI card has serious problems with this game (really do not understand why, with so little demanding graphics engine)
solution exists, but I'm tired of being all the time setting the graphics options.

Konami does not care about anything around this problem, here we have many

EDIT
regarding graphic theme, , but some users are a little disappointed.
since the beginning of PS3, XBOX360, visually amazing games.
Konami blames graphics engine
Blame it on them to implement it, or at least, not knowing how to use.
One year of work, is not so difficult to visit various forums, and communities, and to observe and learn, Konami is blind.
Night mode is completely unplayable. shame

thanks modders! and great community

Oh, and I don't understand all this crap about the 360's awful frame rate and stuttering. My version, at any rate, runs smoothly, as smooth as any other PES that has gone before, and I saw zero stuttering on goals or replays.

So far, demo 2 is better. Slightly different, but better.

Maybe you're right.
but it is strange, I have many games, including Diablo 3, I have no problem whatsoever.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

The thing here is simple, the goal for Konami is make a good game that is not need of "modders" assitance.

That's make that today every PES player across platforms ends playing a different game. Ones play modded yair's version others plays jenkey version, others xxxx versions a so go on, and anothers plays simply with no mod. wtf man. In the end they are like 5 versions of PES 2013

The logic is that everyone, PS3 XB360 and PC players, plays all the same game. And a good one.

IMO modding the game is like saying to Konami "Don't worry keep making shit game, here ( the PC users) we can make the game better" (that is not totally true good)

That's is the biggest issue that i hate from next gen PES, the gameplay mods.

Hope with Fox Engine Konami makes a really good PES with an umbreakable code that's make modders can't change the gameplay. Like old days.

no, its like saying 'thanks for all the work, i'm going to tweak the game to what i think id enjoy more' - i tweak player stats and appearance all the time... what difference is it to anybody ?? plus konami cant fix every problem, they have to release 1 game every year, there will always be some left over things EVEN THEY would prefer they fixed before releasing the game (and i dont even pc game, only xbox)

Good for you and glad you're not having problems. That doesn't change the fact that the issue does exist though.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

not want to get into arguments, but a graphic, "better" (as it has done with pes 2010), it helps in the immersion of the game, from pes 2011/12/13..
it is practically the same, new turfs? new textures? lights?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

Some quick thoughts after playing the xbox demo 2 (I have been playing demo 1 on PC).

First off, overall the game is better. It's not perfect and it's still too early to make any final judgement..but things are finally looking good for PES for the first time in many years.

The first thing you will notice is that the pace is a tad slower than demo 1. The ball still moves around well, but players do not look like they just smoked a bowl of meth anymore. Changing direction takes a little longer but it seems quite realistic in the way its done. It was a little too easy to dribble past D before so its a little more balanced in this aspect.

This is also partly due to defenders and players in general feeling more solid. 1v1 defending is easier but by no means easy. If you have Robben barrelling down you 1v1 just outside the box you're in trouble. Had this happen a couple times and it was great seeing him set up his left and try a curler for the far post...luckily the goalie made a great diving save. Speaking of goalies they seem ok so far. Harder to tell as D are now much better at blocking shots, which is a welcome improvement (but again too early to say if over done).

Shooting has definitely been toned down...which was sorely needed as it was way too easy to smash home from anywhere with anybody in demo 1. Rushed shots also seem to cause more misses which is a good step forward. Seems pretty balanced as you can still lace em with the right players.

Crosses seem more accurate...still tough to head them home though.

As for the Ai, they definitely use more build up play and more variety of attacks. They are more challenging to play against, which again, is nice cause I though demo 1 was getting a tad easy (I play on top player btw).

The major issue for me is the stuttering. This needs fixing asap. It doesn't just happen when the play stops but also randomly during play..which is quite disappointing.

Friendly AI seems a bit hot and cold. I've seen some nice runs in demo 2 (one ozil run down the middle from deep looked superb) but players are still on occasion static as a statue even when you're facing them with acres of space to exploit.

But overall, I think I can for the first time in a while that I can recommend my buddies to check out the demo at least and maybe get them to convert from fifa.

Well if you're having issues then I would imagine that it will be sorted out by release, or at worst, a patch straight after release. If it's not affecting all xbox users then I'd imagine that it's a problem they can sort out.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread .......

YouTube - PES2013 demo - Chelsea FC vs FC Barcelona - full match HD (720p)

Here is the game I mentioned. Before you have a go at how easy it looks:

-it really isn't.

-yes, had more possession than Barcelona. Not my fault.

-yes, this camera makes people see a lot more on pitch :)

-was this enjoyable game? Hell, yes! Had this nail biting moments here and there <lol>.

Seriously though, the game played and looked SUPERB.

There was lots of mods installed in it, so it should :D.

Enjoy! :D

Bring on demo#2 or full game. I doubt FIFA will give me same excitement ;). Watch in HD to see a lot of details (and sorry about contrast, will try to fix it on YT).

Sorry, but with all due respect most of this is complete bollocks.

While I agree with the sentiment that Konami *should* be creating a game that doesn't require modding, in reality that is not going to happen for a long time. No game is perfect, and as Konami has shown, it can take many years for fans wishes to be acted upon in order to improve the game.

If someone (like Jenkey or Yair) says "hey, I can take this game and make it better" then that should be applauded. If I can play an improved version of the game I will. You'd be mad not to as a PC player.

Konami making "shit" games has not arisen because of the community's willingness to correct their mistakes.

Demo 2 is dreadful in 360. Constant stuttering.
Night games still look awful
Barca play like a team on speed.
Game 0 speed was perfect on demo 1 now it's too fast on demo 2
Shooting still good

Edit game speed way too fast on 0 when playing with Barca only
