Not wanting to sound boring, but ... a Brazilian site interviewed Seabass and asked some pertinent things to the interest of PES Brazilian fans.
He does not know who Neymar is (big star of Brazilian football nowadays) and not on which team he plays ... Now I understand why players of South American clubs are so little like the reality and attributes are so ridiculous ...

I do not agree. Sure you have to relearn the game but it's fundamentals lie within PES. If you like me played PES/WE all your life it clicks pretty quickly and I would assume quicker than if you are a lifetime FIFA player.
 
Can someone please explain this revamp of the ML in PES2010.
I never bought PES2010 based on bad first impressions and the massive negativity on the forums, which was regrettable actually because a week or two before the PES2011 demo came out, I downloaded the American PES2010 demo which is based on newer code than the Euro one and enjoyed it very much. So I never got to experience this change and I really did not know there was much of one either to be honest, these posts I am just seeing talking about a revamp in 2010 are a pleasent surprise.

Also one question, how does the Champions League in the ML work?
What I mean by this is in the CL you have teams from all over Europe not just the 4 leagues you will have in the ML, so how does it deal with this? Does it just involve the 4 ML leagues like the old WEFA championships?

The extra teams involved last year were licenced and are automatically added when the Champions league or Uefa cup start during the master league

I'm just stating what I see. Your arguments seemed to be based on any potential subscriber experiencing the classic Placebo Effect, nothing more, nothing less. I would love to be able to state that I felt the WE 11 is night and day from the PES 11 demo, but in my opinion, it isnt. As for being a games tester, your right I'm not, but maybe I should be.

As for the aftertouch spin. I only utilise the analogue stick on PES/WE11. It isnt there, simple as that. The technical side of applying this type of spin isnt relevant to Konami's philosophy. Topspin is created by striking the ball north of centre, backspin, obviously south of center, and the vary bend left or right, dependant on addressing the strike on either side of the ball respectively. PES has always mirrored footballing technique, therefore it isnt a direction you would push, it's all relevant to the body posture, angle and technique. It's situation relevant. If you still argue this isnt the case, post some video's of all the aforementioned spins of the ball, produced from a straight on standing position where angle and body posture isnt relevant. Show me that and I'll buy into your argument. Until that time, then I can only state what I see or believe.

And your right, I'm not the authority on PES, but I do know footballing technique inside out. Test me whenever you feel the need.

it feels differant but still feels like PES once you overcome the changes.
this is what PES used to be like (i remember the differance betwen PES 2 and the Japanease version - it was the same but better!)I used the "slide-card trick" anyone remember that???

these reviewers are gob-shites. its the opinion of the hardcore that matter.

so all of us who were not happy with the AI runs were right, and those who tried to say that we lacked football knowledge, or couldn't play the game or go back to fifa, or dont base your attack on one player, or its the uber advanced AI were wrong.

Agree its the one part of the game i miss from the PS2 days were the forward runs down the wings and if u didn't play the ball in time they ran offside.
 
How do you lads utilize the R2 dribble? I have not sussed it yet.
I find that using the analogue stick alone allows me to beat/ put a player off balance better than R2

whens the time to use it? and when is it prefered over using just the analogue stick??

I remember the old days when it was used for the side-step (other than PES 5 when it was automatic)

id like some advice. cheers

To be fair, he didnt say it was wrong. He said he hoped that the AI made the runs automatically, which is true and realistic. And they do make the runs, I have absolutely no problem in this area. Tactical tinkering provides everything you should require. PES isnt Fifa, it doesnt work the same way, but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen. The way I read it was that Seabass doesnt see an issue, neither do I.

no what he said is that he would like them to which means they do not currently, otherwise why would he be concentrating on trying to make them work and if he cant then investigating other methods to achieve this.

if he didnt see it as a issue then he wouldnt have made that statement, he would have just said, 'they are fine, edit the tactics'.

At the moment I am just using it when the player I control is recieving the ball and he has opposition players that are close enough that I need the closer control to wriggle out of tight situations.

It can also be used for tighter turning and pace changes when running with the ball, but I am still trying to master dribbling so it probably has more uses.
 
The point is PES used to do this automatically.
The off the ball movement was untouchable and the reason we are all on the forum in the first place.
I agree you can edit the strategy's to make it better but its nowhere near the same game it used to be.

To be fair we all know how these question and answers go they never ask the right questions.
This is about as tough as it gets for seabass but Pesfan are really asking why doesn't the AI make forwards runs

Your so right it isnt the game it used to be, it's so much more advanced and technical. People seriously just need to learn how to play the game. If I had any sort of issue with players not making runs I would be the first to mention it. Obviously, the people it isnt effecting, are playing the game completely different to those that it is.

Edit- R2 is best used in conjunction with a relevant direction on the left stick or D-pad. It also can be used, when timed right, to let the ball run alongside your players body, he opens up his posture to let the momentum of the ball stay true. A bit like a dummy, the only difference is that the ball stays close, and it's all in one movement. Very subtle, but very effective in tight spaces. It's like an upper body feint.

so the guy that makes the game say that he is gonna work on the issue, but you still want to claim that is people not knowing how to play the game?

i dont understand the problem with saying 'its a really good game, but this could be better to make it great'

I am another who does not see the issue here, from what I have read there are not many of us.

I was struck down with the Man Flu this weekend and spent it lying on the couch doing nothing but watching football and playing the PES demo. The player movement I was seeing in the real games is pretty much mirrored in PES IMO. Real players do not constantly sprint off into space, generally they hover around a poisition that holds the team shape, by passing the ball around and keeping possession teams try to draw the opponents into the open space to break their shape down and take advantage of the space left in behind with quick passing and movement, all of which is replicated in PES very well.
But I dont really know alot about football so maybe I'm wrong.

as far as i can recall, nobody has called for 11 players to be sprinting up the pitch at every opportunity, we have been talking about specific situations, when in a real game runs would be made. in fact, because it would happen in a real game and because the game is so good, is what makes them stand out when its doesn't happen.

embraceuk1 i refuse mate, if i and others can notice it after a couple of mins of picking up the pad, the man who make the game notices it, how then can someone else turn around and say that you are wrong.

Funny i watched Chelsea vs Man city on sat ever heard of Ashley Cole. i swear he made forward runs past the front line.
Then Adam Johnson came on as a sub i was shocked and screamed at the tv you cant do this its not in PES.
 
I believe this is how football should be played in a console game. PES 5, 6 they were great games but there was a feeling of arcade around them.

I think this the version of PES that most accuratly reflects real life football. If you think otherwise I must tell you that you are wrong and you only believe in such a thing because during years you always played arcade games.

There was nothing arcade about PES and i hate all this throwing around of PES5 there was PES before 5 and some of it was better.
My fave is still WE7I which was a refined PES3.

Its too easy for ppl on here just to quote PES5 and i bet most didn't play it much
