I've got pressing set quite low, about 6 or 7 I think. I prefer my team to hold it's shape (and stamina) and I will use :x: or :square: to manually press as and when required. I tend to play a counter-attacking style of football where I'm happy to let the opposition play in front of me and have possession.

Hit the nail on the head. The throughballs tend to get my defenders in a knot and almost always leads to one on ones.

As for the bycicle kick I did one with Behrami from just outside the box it was heading to the corner but a defender cleared it of the line. I would'nt say it's over done. The rainbow flick just needs to be toned down to a few players and with a harder button combination, holding down R2 and pressing R3 is way to easy. I came up against a guy that did them but I obliged with a few of my own I think it was 4 in a row and he decided to rather not use it in the match again. Lol.

The beta ends on the 29th what the fuck am I going to do then? My life is going to be empty till I atleast get the demo.
 
Just seen Del Piero hit a wonderful goal against Sturm Graz and scored a similar one 2 days ago...This is just a feeling PES 2011 recreates perfectly, the ability to score unpredictable and almost real-life goals

Isn't there a jostling system like in FIFA? I could normally close down on simple passes in FIFA by just jostling as the player stretches itself covering a much wider area than normal.
 
Dany, it's not just my player. It's the NPC players too. They have a tendency to run past the ball.

Hopefully it'll be fixed in the final game, or at least toned down so that defensive sides are a bit more fairly treated. I do slightly pine for more degrees of freedom of movement though. Is the analogue movement meant to cover walking too? Or just slower sprinting/faster jogging?

True. And I think PES2010 is a pretty good football game after you edit it.

My advice would be to get all that other stuff done you won't do when you're playing PES, like go outside, see other people, etc. Then the demo will hit and you'll have even better code.

Won the D3 Cup earlier, beating an all-star line up featuring Ronaldo, Ibra and Xavi up top, with world class players in every other position. To be fair I'm not that far behind; I've tried to avoid the top top players though, and Montolivo is still my first choice mid with Adriano out wide on the left. I just happen to have a great defence.


He was a complete gamer - just give it to Ronaldo and dribble, boot it along the ground to the near post and shoot first time etc.. He got a couple of very lucky goals, with me grabbing a lucky one back before levelling at the death and pushing things into extra time. From the second half onwards I'd completely snubbed Ronaldo out and was giving his very narrow formation (kind of a 6-1-1-2) a bit of a schooling.
Slotted home the winner in the 105th minute and continued to block him out till the finish.

£5m kitty plus £1m a game for about 9 games - top fooking' banana.

Had a go on pes 2010 online tonight for the first time in ages. Tried a 2v2 and remember why i dont play this game online. Its god awfull the lag is pathetic and angers me. Why cant fifa and konami get this fixed. Its just not enjoyable when the game lags and your character requires hard work to move around.

Do these formations work in this game? I remember with FIFA you could use Custom Formations for a 6-0-4 or 5-2-3, having a solid wide defence which was difficult to penetrate and an fast and furious(!) attack, since you don't really need midfielders in FIFA. The strategy was simple: collect the ball in defence, long pass to your striker, ping-pong one-two counterattack and bam, you got a goal.. I hope these kind of formations cannot be abused in PES.
 
I may be ridiculous now, but I can´t buy or play PES becuse of the goal structure and the nets ! one of the most easiest things to fix ! it looks like another sports ! Its like a footie game with red or yellow grass on the pitch or a rabbit instead of a human referee ! it destroy the whole feeling. !
 
Oh Man I hate it when guys with superhuman teams of Messis and Ibras and Torres's still find an urge to pressure the goalkeeper in a goal kick! For the love of everything holy you have a vastly superior team, could you maybe try to beat me without resorting to cheap tricks? Morons.

Of course I know no one on evo-web would ever do such a thing.

theres an option to have stone and brick pitches in the pes shop instead of grass, youll love that:BOP:

yes it is abit ridiculous. We would all like perfect nets, but why miss out on good gameplay. After a 100 matches playing Fifa, I dont go "wow look at the nets," as the novelty has worn off there just nets. I do think if Knami just tightened the net tension it would look better, but it is by no means a reason not to buy the game. Judge it after the demo.

That's because they look like steel cages in FIFA.

Yes, tighten the tension a bit in PES as the physics and detail are actually miles better than anything else.
