Japanese WE is always better than PES

looks like a different build... just played 3 matches and it's a lot better

Just need some help from reading between the lines from those in the know.

There is a WE demo out with Japan vs Spain as the teams I believe.

I'm in the UK so need to download the Hong Kong version giving me English menus, and these new teams.

Is the above right? Is WE any different to PES, as it used to have subtle changes and was better back in the day

If so how do I get a Hong Kong account. Im on PS3

If you play on PC there is already a thing released which lets you use Spain & Japan. Can't wait to get home and play it now!!

Link?

This tool let you choose the 6 Teams in the demo (also Spain and Japan) to play with in freindly-mode. So you can make 15 different matches and not only 2. So you can try how Bayern feels against a weak team or other things like that.

Well, played one match, but it's an enormous improvement as everyone already knows. The passing changes are absolutely fantastic - a massive gamechanger. It's sad to think that whilst FIFA flounders with a fairly broken passing system PES has leapfrogged both assisted and semi from FIFA with a system with more freedom, more realism, and more personality.

Hey. Where is the first player card ATTACK MINDED/BALANCED/DEFENCE MINDED from PES2010?
Does it mean that i can't set it any more? They removed it? I can't set for example my SB to stay back all the time or attack on the wing?

Well it's 1 AM here in Australia, and of course my UK PSN still shows nothing... :-(

In the HOURS I have been waiting before I go to bed I downloaded FIFA 11 from the US PSN Store (it's better than I thought, better than FIFA 10 but I'm still not blown away), and have left the Winning 11 Demo downloading overnight on the JAPAN PSN Store.

Gotta say setting up the Japan PSN account was difficult, had to get a step by step visual guide of the net, as I can't read Japanese.

So tomorrow morning PES 2011 should be there for me to download. It's obviously not gonna come out in Australia sooner, but maybe tomorrow afternoon will see a local release.

Enjoy your PES 2011 Demo guys, next time I check this thread there will be alot of "just downloaded it, and I think it's..." comments

short yalien - Abit different as Zlatan is quiet near the half-way line.:)) Really, I just hope that it isn't an regular occurrence. Though I do agree it is stupid to just even think about shooting from there regardless.

I really really hate it!!! It is back frmo PES5! I already forgot that this bug was in the pes series.

Why the **** don't my players take an opponent through ball when it is played right to there feet?! Only 60% of the time they take it and 30% the ball goes through the legs of my players straight to the attacker going 1on1 with the goalkeeper.

I find the PS3 demo plays much better than the PC demo, download both and try and see if you feel the same way.

Hmm Simcut I don't have PS3 so I cant try that. But, ive tried it on my laptop and desktop. Guess what, the game plays better on my laptop! On medium settings it plays better than the same medium settings on my desktop. And my laptop has definitely got worse specs than my desktop. On my desktop, it stutters a bit. Not too sure whats the problem..So maybe thats why you're feeling a difference as well.

I will be purchasing the Jap version this year. I really liked how smooth and tight the gameplay felt. Do you guys think there's any way the final UK/US version will play like the Jap version?

OK I'm playing the Japanese version while waiting for the EU to download.

Anybody experiencing gfx problems. On PS3 the replays and cut scenes are very laggy :( Also there is no sign of any AA in game.
The grass texture is blurred in the distance.. etc..

Any solutions (besides buying a pc)

It looks very cheap from normal viewing distance for my tv..
I have a small tv (32 inch)

Gameplay better grows on me soon..

After the hype little disappointed..

Probably, PES retail was alot closer to the WE 10 demo than it was the PES 10 demo. It must be a very slightly later code, although I couldnt feel any real differences in the one game that I played. I dont think there is any real difference in the final code anymore. It was only the case on old gen because both games were released 6 months apart.

I hope so. The Jap version does feel like a more refined version than the UK one. I don't want to spend any extra on a Jap version with all that japanese writing mess.

So, does anyone know how I trigger a player controlled celebration where I control the player in the Jap version. I still can't figure that out.

Alight guys. Having played the demo quite a bit, with the different teams, I would like to share what I feel. Looking forward to some honest feedback, opinions and debate (after all, this is a discussion thread).

Firstly, I think a lot of people are approaching this game having their own expectations of how the game should be like. That is fair enough, it is human nature after all. However, everyone is gonna have their own expectations of how it should be. And there is no game that is perfect and that can please everybody.
I found that this year's game is a whole new experience. I've had to relearn everything I knew bout PES up till now. There is just so much nuance, so much freedom, and the whole game feels totally different. I guess a few guys here would agree with me when i say that.

More than ever before, the kind of "posture" your player is in would determine the execution of a pass or shot. For example, many have complained about the weak shots. I've had quite a number of experiences with that as well. But I realise it was to do with the way my player was positioned, which foot he was striking it with, with what kinda power etc. All of that really comes into play in this game. It's really realistic in that aspect, which some might not prefer of course.

And the passing system is just a joy. I guess the reason why I find it so likeable is because I personally have always wanted something like that to be in the game, and for the first time I'm experiencing it. As for defence, you've gotta time everything to perfection. You can't just barge into the players and expect to win the ball cleanly. You have to wait for the precise moment to stick a leg in, if not there would be a foul called. Which brings me to a negative;the CPU makes too many niggling fouls like that. They are all correctly called by the ref yes, but I do wish the CPU players would time their tackles properly lol.

Scoring goals brings a kind of satisfaction I havent felt before. Granted in previous editions of the game, scoring a goal does feel good, but in this game, it's more of knowing that what happened on screen was exactly how you intended it to be in your head. To see your players pulling off moves and passes and then putting one in the net, exactly how you wanted them to, brings a different kinda joy, even if the goals arent spectacular.

Before anybody accuses me of being a fanboy, I admit the game does have its flaws. The number of fouls by the CPU for one, and certain times stupid things happening with the GK. But which game is without flaws? To those expecting a perfect game, I say you should really reconsider because there is no such thing as a perfect game. To those expecting it to feel like PES 5/6, maybe you should drop that mindset and look at it as a new game. The older PES were great, but they are their own games. This year is an entirely different ball game altogether, and thats how I've approached it. However, everything I've said above is my opinion of course, and you are al entitled to agree or disagree with it. Just hope to hear some feedback and your thoughts on what I've shared. And sorry for going on and on! Cheers!

I've tried both the PES 2011(PC) and WE2011(PS3) demos already and so far, I feel that WE2011 feels a bit more measured in terms of game play as compared to the overly fast paced style found in PES. There is definitely much needed improvement that has been made especially when it comes to passing and the overall defensive play. Setting to Top Player difficulty really makes me feel the kind of pressure that I'm accustomed to from previous editions though with the lack of Superstar mode, it'll feel even better. I'll definitely be getting the R3 version of the game come mid October, which would be slightly later than most of the people here but I believe it will be worth the wait.
