Yeh but this Ronaldo freekick isnt with the wobble. it is a newly implented freekick where the ball doesn´t have any spin at all or curve and it will go straight. I remember Jon saying you need to time your buttons to do that and its not that easy. you could do the wobble freekick in earlier PES versions already.

seems like everyone's saying pes2011 is better than pes6. that is a welcome change for me, no doubt. i'm geting a ps3 specifically to try out the new pes. just got really bored of old-gen graphics, but i'll probably always boot pes6 into any pc/laptop that I have no doubt.
there's a reason why the pes6 community/forum here is so much more alive than their pes2009/2010 counterparts.
bring on pes2011, i'm ready to move on this time.
I'm sorry but I want to burst out laughing when I read this, people who haven't experienced even the beta are in for a treat I tell you. To me it's like comparing Megan Fox to Maggie Gyllenhall.
To be fair, you couldnt be further from the truth. Satnik/Cro, is without question easily one of the best PES 2010 players I have ever faced. His football is the purest bar none. He doesnt even know where the sprint button is and averages almost 180-200 passes per game, one of the very highest on PEEL. I have played him in over 50 games, and it's death by passing. He went unbeaten in his first season on PEEL against some very good and fair players, and was lying second in the league before the beta hit.. He knows how to play PES 2010 as much as anyone, as far as I'm concerned, and he does it with 3rd rate teams, which is even harder.
We both know how to play PES 2010, it was the only game we ever played. I agree with you, PES 2010 for me was the best to date, I have no doubt about that, and your right it is for the hardcore. Over 90 minutes the scorelines, chances on goal, completed 'Premier League' passes etc, all replicate the real game very well. Like I have said previously, I was happy to see 5 attempted through-balls to be incomplete, just to see the magical one complete. From a realism, simulation perspective, it's accurate. And I do understand what Konami where trying to achieve, it is the most hardcore PES ever in my book. We both know of its qualities.
The problem is once you have experienced the freedom of PES 2011, and grasped the concept, and shook off the PES 10 habits, you can play a game of football that you have never been able to previously. It's a different type of game, and after all these years of almost playing the same type of way, this is fresh, new, and very appealing. Trying to go back to PES 10 after 11 is very hard, you have acclimatised to a whole new ball-game, a new outlook, and then PES 2010 can seem very frustrating.
It didnt help our first game back was a 2v2 tournament. The pace was alot faster, you had two players pressuring you, and it all felt very rushed. It become frustrating when things we have learnt from 2011 were simply not working. We also played lads from PEEL who hadnt played the beta, so were still played the PES 10 way, which made it harder. Satnik/Cro is a massive PES fan, never played Fifa, it doesnt appeal to him for the same reasons it doesnt appeal to me. He has also been a huge supporter of the series on here for 7 years, and never has a bad word to say about the game. But we were both just being honest in our assessment.
I regret smashing my disc now, I would like to play a nice game of 1v1 with Satnik again, we have had some amazing games over the last year, and really enjoyed the experience. It was just a PES 2011 comedown, and the frustrations of not being able to do what we have experienced in the beta. Thats all.
Are you a goalkeeper on professional level?
Did you ever had to save a freekick taken by Ronaldo?
Nuff said![]()
Last year, demo date was announced the day before it released. Anything like that is gonna happen?
An epic trailer, deserves an epic trailer music.

Also a very good and in depth write up comparing the 3 games Jimmy. I always thought that PES 6 took the more arcadey approach, too many people complained that PES 5 was too hard and defensive with the advantage being given to the defenders, making you work hard to create space, too strict with the referees which made you time your tackling to the nth degree etc.
But that's exactly what made it brilliant!
So seabass said he'd take the series back to its attacking roots with PES 6, and obviously it was also an attempt to branch out from the hardcore and sell more copies to the casual players. It was strange because there were so many gameplay improvements over 5 (PS2 versions), things like fluidity and lots of neat little touches, but the speed of the game, the dribble speed and dribble accuracy seemed to have been put on fast forward, which for me spoilt the game, especially online
Also on the PS2 there were the usual lag problems but after a while it just became completely smooth, as in pretty much no lag whatsoever, even 2vs2. How did it degenerate Konami, time to spend that dosh on some dedicated servers!
They had reached their peak with that engine on the PS2, understandably the animations/ball physics etc were really amazing for its time but FIFA seized on this and prepared their next gen engine earlier, and were able to get a headstart while the PES team were playing catchup (and probably becoming complacent too) with PES 2008. 2009 was definitely an improvement (albeit flawed), things such as the first touch, d-pad dribbling and weighted ball physics being added which paved the way for the masterpiece that was 10, unfortunately FIFA had moved on and had started pulling away the hardcore from PES, which was quite an achievement.
2010 as mentioned was amazing but very hard to get into, a lot of people had already lost patience and either didn't bother with it or give it enough time. If it had the animation level of FIFA then it would be clear to see which game was better. But give me gameplay and tactical depth over animations any day, if a compromise had to be made.
I think the hardcore will come back though, because 2011 is awesome, and actually looking better than FIFA visually (as in animation improvement and the visual feel of a football match) if you simply put the two games side by side without playing them, just as the comparison video did.
Having been online the past few days and occasionally during the beta the numbers have swelled suddenly, meaning there's a buzz around PES again![]()
Hi guys i have played pes 5 to 2010 today to try and see how its changed. i played 1 hour on each game.
From what i played it seemed pes 6 on xbox 360 best simulated football. pes 5 was very arcadey with things like the stop and go tactic and the shot fake and the lack of individuality between players when it comes to their control and first touch and dribbling ability.Pes 2008 was easily the worst pes game ever but this is because it seems that konami tried to add alot of player individuality and added a whole host on new animations but unfortunately these animations were very poor which meant lots of players moved unrealistically and for some reason with this new animation meant for some reason they had to change the ball physics which are the worst i have ever seen. Between pes 6 and 2008 they must have tried a new animation system or something maybe graphical because the graphical change is huge between these to games and maybe this is why in this new engine the game changed so drastically. Pes 2009 was a good attempt at trying to rectify the worst football game ever. But with that the individuality was again increased greatly this was a big change for me as i could feel the definitive touches between ronaldo and ferdinand. But again this game has poor ai and animations. Finally pes 2010 the animations which didnt actually change much blossomed under the new graphics engine which made them look better than what they are even though they are still really bad. But this game has more player individuality than any over by a long way especially when it comes to first touch and general control every player felt different.
In this small essay i focused on individuality because it is the biggest change i felt when playing through each game.
I want you all to try this and see what you see but from what i have experienced it seems konami tried to input individuality to player movements into the game but their first proper attempt pes 2008 went horrendously badly. But pes 2010 reaped some of those rewards but from playing mlo beta they toned individuality down a bit but have greatly reaped the rewards of their first trial and now pes 2008.1 will be the best pes to date
Game looks phenomenal in that trailer. But why they would want to show that awful keeper mistake in the freekick at 0.38 is beyond me.
I know this is the console area of the forum, but the PC thread for this game is dead, and well they are essentially the same game.
So I have a question for the savy ones
Will a quad core, with six gigs of Ram but a NVIDIA GeForce 8600GS 512MB DDR2.
Will that be enough to play this game?
