Just some quick things.

-The replay works always. ie, after a foul, you can see previous play. The blur effect looks great IMO, very natural. The control (in the replay) is smooth and you can set the vertical angle.

- There are some new animations (and ive seen all the videos), but the bad ones are still there (running is very poor)

- The menus are great, although this is very personal. But they change fast, and the music is finally good.

- The R1 control is back, which is great.

- I have to play more to review the gameplay but it feels good.

Anyone with the become a legend vids that supposed to be in the demo?
Or some other demo vids?

I downloaded the demo then I got a error and deleted it, will download from live tomorrow.

Gosh those reports about the awful running animations doesn't sound good. The last vid I watched, they run as if they are hurrying to get to the bathroom. Very unnatural and poor. If they fix this, it would add so much more to realism. I'm sure they'll get this right next version.

game is decent. better then pes08 but imo it feels like a "patch" of pes08 more then a true sequal

You know, at first I don't like the sound of the ball, but it quickly grows on me as it has in previous versions and then I don't notice it hardly. I do agree that they need to improve this area though.

Now I have played quite a few games.

My settings: All details on high, 1680x1050.

Graphics didn't change at all. Gras is quite brown. All in all it has got a darker look. But that is just my oppinion.

Menu is great if you like it. It gives the game a fresh look.

Now to the gameplay:

The ball feels quite a lot heavier. The players too. They don't turn as quickly as in 2008.

The pace of the game is more slowly.

But!

There are some new animations but after 1 minute of playing you have seen all the animations. I also have the feeling of player sliding on the pitch. All in all it doesn't look realistic. Animations are repeating too much.

Also i hate the autofeint. Nearly EVERYTHIME you turn you see that feint.
Also players with the ball are a bit too slow. This leads to a real pass-orgie.

It is better than 2008, but it does not look realistic nor it makes more fun.

I just can not see the work of one year.

Agree its slower and plays better but thats not enough for me its exactly what i expected from videos minus Leipzig more newer ones.

Animation killer though running animations shocking they could of at least put in more variation even different animation be better. Thudding is highly annoying but what i expected from the videos its really over done. Animation feels stiff and rigid also still not very fluid and whats up with cursor change swapped LB for LT on 360 controller and not responsive at all but this was same last year in 08 demo.

No 1280 by 1024 support aswell ok someone will hack it but wtf where option in settings.

My final decision will be based on console version but for me its what i expected playable but not enough for me to beat Fifa this year new engine long overdue.

Controls are totally changed! Right now than analog to him in the ass time for anything else not serve. While you run, the player makes me 360. None of it pluck behind a ball with R2, if it has to do otherwise everything is changed it 's terrible!

If there is no option to return the old controls will hellish am disappointed, everything is very much but not perfectly make.

Oh right. I get your point there. I feel the same with other games. Don't usually play footy games on a big screen but i imagine the experience is a lot better

The auto feint animation is really annoying. They should have left it to the 90+ dribble players. It happens way too much now.

Menus are indeed a bit of change and while not being perfect they bring something new to the table and I'm all for that. Graphically it does look more realistic and detailed even in wide view.

Music is a lot less annoying this year. Most of the songs i've heard are like indie/pop-rock and sound decent.

I need to play against mates to really get a feel for the game as playing against the computer can only go so far.

ive seen pes2008 played on a pc connected to a 1080p hdvt...the x16aa/af had a huge impact...

You know, it've been allways this way. They're patching the game continously, I remember PS2 days when 3 versions of the game were released every year: we, pes, we liveware evo, etc.
Actually, the more you play it the more u notice the changes, so I don't care too much about first impressions.
Anyway, can't wait to taste it :calmdown:

All in all they kept many bad things like silly running animations and that stupid auto side step.

Also the animations are not very smooth.

The more i play it the more i hate it. :(

Maybe i have to play more.

Nope. Only able to choose the difficulty level in that menu. All the other stuff is on random
