Re: PES 2009 News Discussion & Rumours (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS)

Haha so far every pre/review that gave pes good points are either biased or wrong im sure we will soon get a bad one and then we know they are absolutly right ;))

its hard to believe reviews after last year ;)) PSM 3 gave PES08 a 85%?:LOL::LOL:

last years game was a 65% at best, and from the videos there has been no new added animations, still robotic movement and keeper still look shite, even from those screen you can see goals are easy to score  the game can be as slow as it wants but that doesnt mean realism, they need to make so many improvement to be as good as PES5's gameplay/realism

i will still buy this game as i buy every football game every year but i ahve a feeling i will be playing the "other" game more then this one  i miss the good old PES games, where nearly every player felt different

Reddevils, you are obviously in a better position to review the game than people who have actually played the game.

Please, give me your review score and I will then judge whether or not to buy the game.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion & Rumours (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS)

i never said i know better, i just said i dont trust reviews after last year, for them to give 85% for PES08 shows they are abit biased

i'll give you my review when i play it if you want :| and i can also give you a review based on the videos and pics i seen :| slow gameplay(good) but the rest looks the same (animation, keepers, easy to score etc) :|

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion & Rumours (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS)

sigh...I'm tired reading those argument,if that's what people believe the best, then all luck to you guys. we exactly can't make any hardcore fan to believe their best favorite game is a joke (stand for both FIFA and PES). we just cherish everyday left before the game actually came out and pray that both game will be as good as we wish. =)

You really are an obnoxious knobber at times.

Oh ah, not trusting them is fine.

But your reaction to a positive review before was "Oh, Konami must have bought them off" and it seemed almost as if you were being serious. If this is going to be the reaction to every positive review then it's going to get tiresome.

You really are an obnoxious knobber at times.

Hell yeah, Badger doesn't let shit like that fly.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion & Rumours (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS)

Get the 360 version, its just better online IMO

Yes, true. But you really cannot fix the unlicensed teams without a proper option file. It will take me ages to do it myself using the edit mode.

Boy oh boy those screenies look awesome. If only there were different style goal/nets.

I like ediing so its ok for me.

I dont know why they have not added the square styles and different colours on next gen??? They seem the same at every ground and I have never seen nets held down by bags of set cement anywhere in the world.

I do too, but with 2 kids and a wife, it's hard to find time. I would have to take a few days off from work to edit everything myself. I think I will just do that.

Yes, I would love for them to have included the square nets as well as the current ones without the sandbags. They won't do this until next versions though. I'm sure they are aware and just don't want to put all their eggs in one basket sort of speak.

I want to see more vids like the caniggia's one.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion & Rumours (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS)

Looks great, but I CAN'T believe that those sandbags are still holding the nets! it's dramatic really

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion & Rumours (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS)

They do react very nicely though, so that is something to look forward to.

They do, but to be honest, as the ball slams against the back of the net it should send ripples throughout the net. Instead, the ball just sinks into the net, pokes out from behind unrealistically IMO, and then it ripples. The ball should not poke out that much with the net around it. It should just slam against it and send massive ripples depending on the power of the shot.

Again, and I promise I won't talk about it any more, but football Kingdom had this down to the science impressively.

No one, and I mean, no one will ever get it right as FK did.

Re: PES 2009 News Discussion & Rumours (STRICTLY NO FIFA DEMO IMPRESSIONS)

Yup

The more I play the more I can see the obvious repetitive goals, slow response (a tiny bit improved on 08) and the total frustration that has plagued the previous 2 efforts.

You first put the demo on and you think wow, its amazing, shooting is improved and the animations are brilliant, but the very heart of the engine is still FIFA08, its just slighty quicker and a bit better looking.

Could you perhaps elaborate a bit with what aspect of the response times that you find slow?

Reason I ask is, I do actually agree that the response in FIFA is pretty bad. However, only in specific situations.

Mainly for me, the dribbling. There just is no "quick feet" mode, where your player goes into a more technical and "quick-to-react" mentality.

In real life, whenever you see Ronaldo or Ronaldinho etc moving and approaching a defender, they shift from running to quickly tapping their feet in the ground, in order to always have a foot as ready as possible to shift or move the ball as possible when the defender makes a move or the situation calls for a quick dribble.
In FIFA, even when holding LT for "slow" dribble, the player is slower, but there is never a sense that you can make him really "urgently" anticipating to dribble or move. So when you want to do that ball roll to avoid a defender, your player sort of has to go from "0 to dribble", rather than already being on the edge ready to perform a move. It is this aspect that for me makes FIFA feel, not unresponsive, but sluggish.

In other aspects I feel it is too responsive, like when trapping the ball in an awkward angle and moving instantly.

So I would very much like FIFA2010 to change the LT mode from from a "slow dribble/trick stick activation" mode and more to a "responsive" mode, where the player keeps the ball close to himself, and the advantage is that you can execute dribbles and such really quickly, and the drawback is that the close ballhandling prevents too much speed (unlöess someone like Messi is at the ball who can execute 2-foot feints at full speed almost. ALso this mode wouldn't be a specific "dribble speed" mode, but the dribble speed should be controlled some other way, maybe the amount R1/RT sprint button is depressed. The "Close control/responsive" mode would be available always, BUT higher technique and dribble stats make it effective at higher speeds. So Defenders and slow big untechnical players would not only have worse reactions and less close control at low speeds, the "cutoff point" at which the speed becomes too high for the player to properly use the close control mode would be much lower than better players.

The "Close control/responsive" LT mode would also improve the response times of all actions like passing, shooting etc, but also possibly reducing the maximum power you can put into passing and shots, since the responsiveness also means that the player will not pull his leg back as much in order to execute the pass or shot quickly rather than forcefully, and you can't just run around holding the "Responsive mode" LT trigger all the time, if you want to perform forceful actions. Also, using this mode would drain stamina more, since the player essentially needs to be so much more tense and on edge with his muscles. Obviously FIFA2010 would benefit from a proper stamina system where a player really becomes more or less useless when his stamina goes down alot. Also the more tired the player becomes it will impact the responsiveness and such of the mode, making it alot less useful for really tired players.

I just realized how much I've written, I'll stop now because it doesn't really matter. :)

EDIT: I just now realized that this is the PES2009 thread (what happens when you have both threads up at the same time in the browser, though the post I quoted was also in the PES forum but about FIFA, so... :)). I'll try and move it to the FIFA09 thread instead, if someone like Chris Bauer or a mod couldn't do it for me (doesn't matter I guess?)

I just checked your Youtube favourites and you've got Loose Change on there. Seriously, if you believe that shit than get the fuck out of here. The level of cognitive dissonance required to believe that is so incredible that I'm amazed that you're able to breathe without being reminded. Oh, and you also believe the New World order stuff? Oh lordy lord, you're actually a stereotype, I honestly didn't think 9/11 truthers existed. Seriously though, get the fuck out.

I have supported you in nearly all of your views but that comment right there is pretty much disgusting. I thought you had more intelligence but I was clearly wrong. Anyway back on to PES. :)

The amount of hate directed towards ISS is amazing and funny at the same time.

I think a lot has to do with the people on both sides of the fence tobi, rather than being aimed at the products, quite a few people here like the the look of their own typing if that's the correct term ...

OK, now that's just ridiculous... How am I supposed to pretend that is a goalkeeper in the sport of football when it looks like the Mexican gardener for the arena has been dragged from his dutues and shoved in front of the goal. What is more amazing is that it hasn't been fixed yet. If I ever go to Japan I have to get me those types of gloves since they must be the standard over there. I can't wait to pick apart those suckers and discover all the amazing new technology designed specifically to keep them from flying off if you even so much as sneeze violently.

Seriously though, anyone who has played football with some mates and isn't one of those complete douchebags that refused to get between the posts when its their turn, I'm sure you can instantly conjure up the feeling in your mind of those gardening gloves one of the mates brought from home, and the way they sort of flop around on your hands, and the way that you almost have to keep your hands elevated to keep the gloves from just sliding off your hands, and all the while struggling not to break your wrist when you try and simultaneously parry a hard shot, and angle your hand in a weird way to keep the gloves on.

That's the feeling that pops up in my head as I watch that picture. Brrrrrr....
