well domenico, i look to you for all the news from the serie a, you and milanista. what are your views on this potential transfer? especially, seeing as how you are a fan of juve (right?) how will this benefit juve and why has inter taken this stance?

It would be a great transfer. Juve's defence was terrible last year and their obvious weak point (the likes of the once great Montero and Ferrara have aged, and Legrotagglie failed to establisch himself, Tudor always injured losing his once great potential). It was juves worst defensive record in more than 40 years if i'm not mistaken.
So Juve really need Cannavaro, he may not be that young anymore(30 years old), but young enough and will be able to help Juve's defence short-term at least.
Cannavaro will partner up again with his his former teammate Thuram(now a cb) in the central of the defence and Buffon from their time together at Parma, where that trio was incredible!
Inter has a squad of 35 or more players, Cannavaro never really settled in Inter(Cannavaro's performances were way better for Italy than for Inter) , Inter have many other central defenders in which Mancini obviously beleives (Burdisso, Cordoba, Mijailovic( :roll

and Materazzi)( ). + Carini (the one who will go to inter) is a young talented GK, Toldo isn't that young anymore and Inter are already looking for a replacement. Carini will only join Inter next season and will keep playing in Belgium.
Cannavaro is also known to be a keen admirer of Juve.
Look at this defence
Zebina -Thuram-Cannavaro-Zambrotta
Not bad at all, I think. Zebina for one could be better, but he is solid.
The only stumbling block of this transfer could be that Cannavaro needs to lower his wages to be able to fit into Juve's wage structure.
I do have my concerns about this transfer though, even when considered all the points stated above the transfer is still a bit too easy to beleive. Is there something about Cannavaro which only Inter know about?
