Anderlecht's S.Korea international Seol joining Wolves

BRUSSELS, Aug 26 (Reuters) - South Korea striker Seol Ki-hyeon has joined English second division side Wolverhampton Wanderers for two million euros from Anderlecht, the Belgian champions said on Thursday.

"The twos club agreed on the transfer late on Wednesday," said Anderlecht's Robert Depot. "Seol still has to complete some medical tests with Wolves prior to signing a contract that I expect to be for four or five years.

"The two clubs agreed on a transfer sum of two million euros".

Seol joined Belgian side FC Antwerp in 2000, scoring 10 goals in 25 games in his only season with the club before joining Anderlecht in 2001, where he played 70 games in three seasons and scored 18 goals.

Thomasgoal, i read in L'Equipe that Lyon were after Aruna Dindane, Leguen went looking for Aruna when they played Benfica. Apparently Aruna was very goo din that match but Anderlecht refused to let him go (they asked a minimum fee of 9 million euro).
Now Aruna is refusing to play for Anderlecht (officially because Anderlecht let Seol go to Wolves, but of course because he wants to quit Anderlecht).
Anderlecht are positive: they will not let go Aruna before january even if he does'nt want to play...

I think this is a stupid move from Aruna Dindane, Lyon have the Brazillian guy now and they certainly will not longer be interested in Aruna Dindane (too much players outside the EU and Aruna Dindane can't play in the CL for them).

Maybe he hopes to go to a Premiership team (Portsmouth was interested, would be another stupid move if cou can plan the CL...).

Off-topic: Thomasgoal, do you know who Riberry is now??? Metz have beaten L'OM with 1-3 and are current leaders in the L1...
If PES4 comes out i will play my first ML as Metz, i'm completely hooked by that teapm...

is it true i hear cannavaro is on his way to juventus from inter?

Yes. Carini was offered in a straight swap deal for Cannavaro. Inter has agreed(Moggi brilliance somehow). Cannavaro only has to say yes now. The deal is expected to close tomorrow morning.

well domenico, i look to you for all the news from the serie a, you and milanista. what are your views on this potential transfer? especially, seeing as how you are a fan of juve (right?) how will this benefit juve and why has inter taken this stance?

It would be a great transfer. Juve's defence was terrible last year and their obvious weak point (the likes of the once great Montero and Ferrara have aged, and Legrotagglie failed to establisch himself, Tudor always injured losing his once great potential). It was juves worst defensive record in more than 40 years if i'm not mistaken.
So Juve really need Cannavaro, he may not be that young anymore(30 years old), but young enough and will be able to help Juve's defence short-term at least.
Cannavaro will partner up again with his his former teammate Thuram(now a cb) in the central of the defence and Buffon from their time together at Parma, where that trio was incredible!
Inter has a squad of 35 or more players, Cannavaro never really settled in Inter(Cannavaro's performances were way better for Italy than for Inter) , Inter have many other central defenders in which Mancini obviously beleives (Burdisso, Cordoba, Mijailovic( :roll:) and Materazzi)( :roll: ). + Carini (the one who will go to inter) is a young talented GK, Toldo isn't that young anymore and Inter are already looking for a replacement. Carini will only join Inter next season and will keep playing in Belgium.

Cannavaro is also known to be a keen admirer of Juve.
Look at this defence

Zebina -Thuram-Cannavaro-Zambrotta
Not bad at all, I think. Zebina for one could be better, but he is solid.

The only stumbling block of this transfer could be that Cannavaro needs to lower his wages to be able to fit into Juve's wage structure.

I do have my concerns about this transfer though, even when considered all the points stated above the transfer is still a bit too easy to beleive. Is there something about Cannavaro which only Inter know about?

In my opinion Juve should aim for a younger defender. Cannavaro hasnt been himself in the last 2 seasons.

That was my original thought as well, but it's to late now! All the younger defeders have been bought already.

Confirmed:

Earnshaw (Cardiff) --> W.B.A
Diomansy Kamara (Modena) --> Portsmouth
Jorgensen (Udinese) --> Fiorentina

Almost Done:

Maxi Lopez (River Plate) --> Fiorentina
Aparecido Cesar (Lazio) --> Inter Milan....(Lazio should receive £2m plus Giorgios Karagounis and Francesco Coco. If both players reject a switch to the Stadio Olimpico, then Inter will be forced to increase their financial offer possibly to around £6.5m. Juventus may be interested now after losing out on Jankulovski.

Indeed, a great team on paper. I wonder how they'll play. Surely good enough to stay up though.

Alfonso Camorani (Fiorentina) --> Siena

Angulo (Valencia) looks set to join Arsenal if he can agree terms.

Angulo's father is said to be happy, as he'll be nearer the farm.
