And don't forget he did try his luck at a much bigger club in Bayern but failed as he's not a team player and quite self-centered. He has attitude problems and combined with inconsistency and injury woes, Bayern cut their losses and allowed him to move back to his original club. He whines a lot when left on bench.

I agree with most things you have written, but calling him to be not a team player is not correct. his role in club team (especially in cologne) can not be compared to the role in national team squad.

yes, the main problem is his incosistency in club team, but in this season he plays quite good - maybe his best season ever in bundesliga.
and he is a sensible person who needs his family around - so the move to bayern was a failure. maybe a move to dortmund or schalke would have been a much better choice, due to the fact that both teams are just a few kilometers away from his hometown...

EDIT: and i doubt that podolski will ever move to a foreign club - i can hardly imagine this...

Wow, seems it was only £14.5 million! That's a bargain!

Well, if you measure in BPL-standards, yes. But 17.5 million € are pretty much a sum out of the question for ANY Bundesliga club except Bayern. This is a huge transfer in every regard.
Glad Dortmund could grab him - definitely the better decision from Reus to join the BVB next year. Should help them make it past the group stages of a European competition for a change. ;)
I can still totally see him replace Ribery or Robben in Munich one day, though. Let's see how he'll do in Dortmund - the guy has a lot of talent but kinda lives the Podolski-story right now. In Gladbach he's the local hero and outshines most his colleagues with his outstanding performances most of the time. But like I said: Since he did not immediately join Bayern, there's not much risk he'll end up a bench-warmer next season. Clever, logical ... maybe even an "humble" move, if you will.

Great move for BVB and Reus! I'm really excited now! And it's nice to see him join his former club.

I think he's very strong mentally and would've been fine even at Bayern but am glad to see him join BVB instead as it makes them that much stronger.

Gladbach will miss him but at least they got a decent amount of $$ for him.

Just two more players for Wolfsburg? Really, Volkswagen is a bunch of assh0les. Firing workers on the one hand to save money and giving this idiot Magath millions and millions on the other hand to buy player after player. Really awesome mentality over there...
