arip, can you show us an offical source that denies the transfer, then?

there is no source, because there's no transfer. the situation is that he had a contract until 2011 with one side option from eintracht to extend until 2012. that's what eintracht did. derici's agent says the option is invalid and he signed (?/don't know if he already did) at galatasaray. but it is not clear, if this option is invalid or not.

some years ago there was similar situation with eintracht player chris, he ignored the option and his agents wanted him to sign at prudentopolis, what he did. he was fined and suspended for 3 months by the cas for signing a second contract.

-> don't trust your agents.

no, it's not. look what i've written.

we don't care what you have written :) .. everybody can see There is a official announcement on Galatasaray official website...

and finally

In my honest opinion, and previous experience.. i think this guy would make so much better move to PSG, where they are building a team now.. where he would start maybe..

EDIT: also Real squad looks quite big now.. depend´s on how many players they sell..but Varane is very young and could be loaned in case he needs first team football..

it´s not a bad deal for Madrid, but imo he could wait and improve in better France team like PSG..

But PSG already have their own version of Varane in young captain Sakho. And he's at the moment much better than Raphael of course having played Ligue 1 for 2 seasons now rather than 20 games. As he's further along his development due to earlier start and couple years more experience (being older)

You're not gonna play 2 super young CB's right next to each other in 1st team. That would be too dangerous and a rookie mistake for any manager to make. You need one young promising one like him or Sakho alongside a more experienced even if lesser quality one.

So while I agree that he could well have moved to another French club and improve further, PSG wouldn't have been the right choice actually. Best move would've been to Lille where he wouldn't have even had to change houses lol. To replace Adil Rami and with LOSC in CL and so many games to play, he could've really developed along with Hazard and others in an exciting ever growing good team. But of course Lens fans and president would probably have sold him to any club BUT local rivals Lille.

I think his position wouldn't have necessarily been better at PSG than Real then although he wouldn't have to adapt to a new league/language of course.

I agree with what TsO is saying, except the fact that he doesn't mention Raul Albiol at all. I mean if Carvalho is getting older and less reliable each day (which is true), and you go and BUY someone with potential to replace him, what happens to other CB's you already have? Raul Albiol may not have had the best of seasons and at times looks shaky and lacking confidence, but he's Spanish, talented and still young for a CB and far from havnig reached his potential though already decent. Real spent big money to bring him from Valencia and I think they should remain patient with him and give him all the support he needs. He's a better player than Varane at the moment of course and for me can still get a LOT better.

Albiol barely featured this season because Mourinho likes to play Ramos as a CB ahead of him and put Arbeloa on the right. I guess he doesn't fully trust Albiol yet. Considering Garay didn't even get 3 games, it doesn't look good for Varane.

Real are heavily packed in midfield and defence now. Gago,Garay,Granero,Canales, and Pedro Leon barely featured this season. Pellegrini used to rotate a lot more than Mourinho from what I remember.

Oh man, shame on me, I've just forgot that guy! :( Albiol is very good, no need to prove more, but somehow Mourinho didn't trust him at all during the last season. Signing a guy like Carvalho, who is 100% reliable to his coach, has putted the still young Spanish defender in the shadow. However, he still played 32 games last season, which is a good number imo, and I'm pretty sure that Raúl will have a much more important role next season.
When this guy has confidence he is a fantastic player, a very useful option. :))

You're right when you say Mou barely moves out from his core. He isn't a "rotation coach" like Rafa and Pellegrini use to be. But let's be real, Gago isn't a Real Madrid player. He might be good but he certainly hasn't the quality to feature for a club like Madrid. Garay is in the exit door right now, still young, may prove his talents anywhere else (I wouldn't mind if he ends at Benfica like the press are saying). Granero is what I call, in NBA words, a role player, a very reliable role player. I like this kid a lot, in fact every Madridista loves a cantera kid. I feel sorry for Canales, I mean, he has an outstanding potential but he simply can't reach it at Madrid owing to the fact that we already have Kaka' and Özil in that spot. Canales is going to be a star, no doubts about it, although he must go somewhere else to play more (and then back to us :D). Pedro León is also a good and talented player but he had some disciplinary issues during the season so that's why he didn't play to much.

so do you guys think Varane was last Mourinhos CB singing this season?

I think we're done. Varane in, Garay out. Pepe, Carvalho, Albiol, Varane and Ramos (CB option) are enough in my point of view. ;)

Yeah I agree. Varane must be last one with Garay (good player) moving hopefully to Benfica or somewhere he can show his talent. Dangerous from FK's and PK's as well.

And yeah it seems Mourinho doesn't trust Albiol. Unfortunatley Raul is a talented but one of those 'confidence' players. He NEEDS the faith of coach to perform well. Otherwise gets nervous and makes bad mistakes, judgements of error. When confident though, he's a very impressive defender and good with ball at his feet too. Pretty complete! If I were a coach, I'd be trying to snap him away from Real and help him fulfill his potential.

Dimitri Payet (AS Saint-Etienne) ---> Lille

PSG wanted him too! Well done again LOSC! Best ran-club in France. Aulas must be jealous of Seydoux these days. :P

How much $!?

10mln Euro. Great move for him, and for Lille. If Gervinho leave them, he will be ideal on his position.

Hahaha definately you're eyeing a coach career!

About Payet, 10M€ deal Sina, at least is what journos are saying. Apparently, and according to what I've read, Payet turned down an more lucrative contract with PSG beacuse he's exciting about Lille's project.

Payet @ losc.fr
"This was basically a choice based on sporting aspects. The directors and the coach convinced me with their speech," the player told Lille's website. I was seduced by the club's project. A new stadium within a year, a competitive team: here, there is everything to succeed. At Lille, I have the possibility of playing in the Champions League and fighting for one of the top places in Ligue 1."

Well done Dmitri! :WORSHIP:

Great choice! I would've picked same even if living in Paris and getting even more $$$ is something that seriously has to be 'considered'. :P

10M is also a very good price. This is a player who in my opinion will fulfill potential over next 3 years, improve even further and then probably like Gervinho be sold on for even more money around double that ($20M) to another club. Win win situation for all. Though now I'm curious who St. Etienne are replacing him with! Maybe they're the big losers in this... depending on their choice...

@Stuart, yeah definitely Gervinho's replacement. He'll be gone most likely to Arsenal over the next week then.

Onyewu deserves a better club than Sporting Lisboa...
Great that Lille has bought Payet..
I still think they need a replacement for Cabaye though...he was a rather important player for them.

Ouch! You're lucky because I won't show this to my dad!
Sporting is doing it the right way: Schaars, van Wolfswinkel, Rodriguez and Onyewu are very very good signings.

Indeed they are good signings.
You can tell your dad that i quite like Sporting, just the way i really like Atletico Madrid, Spurs...all big clubs that are underachieving.
