Marcelo is one of the Stars and I think he'll play as a winger only when Coentrao starts the match ..

Marcelo is now the second in command in what regards to LB position. Coentrão is going to make the starting eleven and no way to play as a winger (Di María, Neymar?).

Yea, I got it. I love Marcelo, he is one of my favourite players so I can't understand this transfer at all. Well, time will tell but I think it was unnecessary.
 
Marcelo and Coentrão are completely similar when it comes to atributes and playing styles. Coentrão may have a slight edge but still, I don't get this transfer at all.
 
Marcelo looks too straggling at the defending side of the game for a team like RM which have no tolerance to any mistake. Last season he was not bad, though. Coentrao is the much more decisive one of the two, you know. Also there are rumours saying Mourinho would put Coentrao as right-back, that sounds a bit fantasy to me.
 
Marcelo is the least problem in Real Madrid squad..and best La Liga LB imo..this move is not fair to his achievements last season..
 
Don't be unfair airjoca...if we always got it right we wouldn't be a football club. Everybody fails sometimes... But are you telling me Oscar Cardozo, Nico Gaitan, Franco Jara weren't good signings? If we wanted we already had a +20M € for Cardozo, for example. Of course we had bad signings, but those who we really invested in (more than 3/4 M €) were well chosen most of the time.

Benfica signed Fábio Coentrão for 1M €, David Luiz was also signed for 1M €, Di Maria 6M €, Ramires 7.5 M€...so, a 15M€ investment gave us 100M €...if that's not good management...
