these are just faults with whichever version you've got though, surely cars and shooting will work in the final release?!

No they had to sacrifice something for the sheer size of the game, the broken accelerator and the pirouette style shooting are the only things that have been compromised.
Other than that its fine.

Another annoying thing is that when you shoot something CJ does a 180 degree spin before shooting so you have to time your shots 4 seconds before you plan on hitting someone.

IGN have posted their review - it got 9.9 which is pretty damn amazing. I'll go have a read once I grab myself a cuppa :) Also, Gamespot have posted their review, and they gave it 9.6! Looks like this one is living up to everyones hopes. Gamespot also have a video review available.

Its probably been shipped today from Play so people get it on release day. My advice would be to go to a shop on Friday and pick one up off the shelves

I would take IGN's scores with a large bowl of salt, it's a great game but it's not that close to being 100% perfect.

Any chance the public can get their hands on it then, I got The Getaway from HMV on the Tuesday b4 it came out so heres hoping.....As for IGN, they are usually pretty fair game markers, so if theyve given it 9.9 I believe them...!!!

FIFA Soccer 2002 Sports 8.5

Since when has FIFA been consistently 8/10 and above each year? IGN often hype games up way more than they deserve to be IMO. Make no mistake, GTA SA is a terrific game, but I would go more along Gamespot's line of 9.6. I know it's running on old architecture, but you can't give a game with such obvious slowdown, pop-up and texture problems, and a pretty cumbersome at times shooting system 9.9. No IGN site, for any machine, has ever given a game that high a score - they are saying it is the best game of all time, ever. Which is bollocks. How can it have more impact than a genre-defining game like Doom all those years ago for example?

I generally take all review scores with a pinch of salt. I also never think of the rating as being a % of how perfect or not the game is. For me the rating indicates the entertainment value of a game, not whether it's perfect as there is no such thing as perfect. Look at it from an entertainment point of view and you won't be let down.

I think IGN speak up to the hype the game is creating i.e Fifa looks great but mince compared to PES and still gets a reasonable score.

If they are giving the PS2 version 9.9 what are they gonna give the PC version which on a top end machine will run at near perfect quality , if theyre scores were consistent then they would have to give the PC version 10.

Whats stopping it getting that extra .1 ?

Cant put slowdown, sensitive controls and dodgy camera angles down to that .1

I'm just glad I didn't follow the progress of this game, and didn't read that score before I played it, because I'm sure I'd have expected more. IGN totally jizzed themselves over Vice City too I remember, so I knew they wouldn't do any different this tie.

Well, whatever the score, i'm pretty sure i'm going to enjoy this game as much, if not more than, III and VC. From what i've seen and heard, i reckon i will be more than pleased.

This game is fucking amazing!!!!!! And probably only the lack of online play stops it from getting 100%

Nope - I wasn't sure if I was gonna get it or not so I didn't pre-order. Play.com and Amazon.co.uk are all out of stock, so I will go to Asda or any other place on Friday to pick it up.

Till u get it u wont realise how much better screenshots they could have took from planes and choppers or parachutes
