Can ppl please let us know when they get retail copies of what is looking to be a fantastic game ? I dying to play it and if someone knows where to get it we would all be grateful !!!! :D
Hell yeah, i went to gamestation today, and the dude there reckons there was no chance of it coming out before Friday, but i truely believe it'll be available in the shops in the next couple of days, for the love of God :D

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Loz you are better off checking any independent game stores, the big retail chains won't break the release day 'code' I think. The smaller independent stores (well, up here anyway) usually get it out a couple of days early.

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Yeah i will do that mate, we dont have that many independent ones here though, tbh. I can think of only 1 maybe two that sell games and one of those used to dish them out early, but stopped as i think it felt it was a bit of a risque tactic, but cheers for the advice, i'll see waht turns up . . .

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Have you done the one in San fierro where you have to drive from one end of the city and back with out damage in under 2 minutes?

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Man, I just swam over to the next area (city) under the closed brigde and there are indeed NO loading times...

Holy shit, this game is pushing some serious graphics and no Loading. :D

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

If the graphics were improved, the game might have slowdown and loading times for every zone. In VC there was certain times where the game had to load which pissed me off. They used simple graphcis so everything flows.

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Are the gfx the same as Vice City or have there been tweaks in certain areas??

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Everything flows if you're used to slowdown and dropped frames yes, but not when you compare the same game running on other machines (Vice City, GTA3, etc). Those games ran at 60fps+ with no slowdown and better resolutions, I didn't expect the PS2 one to be any different than it is so I'm not bothered, but it certainly can't be described as 'flowing'. ;)

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

I agree the graphics are pretty piss but theyve done well for the game being so big

yeah the games feckin huge, I havent played it that much due to Halo2 being so addictive but it looks good, theres tons of little nice touches although I think the dancing bit is abit gay.

The hydraulics are pretty sick and all the "boys n the hood/menace to society" type stuff is good, wicked hip hop soundtrack. So far it looks good but its gonna take till I've done some other games for me to get into it.

I found the driving school, but not the flight school. Does anyone know where the betting place is??

Where are they? Can you improve your driving skills faster with doing your 'license' instead of just cruising through the city?

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

driving school is the big red S in San Fierro. You have to wait for your worker to call you and tell you about it.

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

the graphics are much improved than vice city. first of all there are reflections, cell shading effects, grass and trees look better and now there is good blinn lighting.. you're not paying attention to the graphics if you think they are not improved. they really improved the engine a lot especially on drawing distance. this game rules.

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

cheers milano. cant make it yet as i am still in los santos. like it there a lot - lol.

That is what I like to hear :D

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

There's a funny suprise inside the police station showers north of where you start. It's pretty damn funny, don't wanna spoil it for ya's :p

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

woah!! In that huge building opposite the car valet place, if you go around that back you can get to the top and base jump off it!

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

How do you drive? I can get in but I can't get it to go. This is PS2 version.

The accelerator doesnt work on the PS2 version, only the gamecube version.
The brakes works fine though on all versions.

What!? the accelarator doesnt work, what do you mean?!

I know but its fine, becuse you can just reverse and press :l2: :r2: to look behind.
you get used to it.
Another annoying thing is that when you shoot something CJ does a 180 degree spin before shooting so you have to time your shots 4 seconds before you plan on hitting someone.

Re: Official GTA: San Andreas Thread - DVD5 Format

Does anyone know any shops which that have or will be selling GTA early
