Now F1 2011

Re: F1 2010

To be honest I'm sick of racing games that are over twitchy or have you ice skating on tarmac all the time, even in the wet these cars have some immense downforce grip...
This.

I own PGR4, GRID and Forza 2 on my 360, and the only one where I actually feel like the car actually has grip and I'm in control of it is PGR4...

Re: F1 2010

That car looks way to easy to control in wet weather.
The steering also look very weird.

Looks very much a case of all graphics no gameplay.

That's normally the case when Codemasters and racing games collide.

Where is Geoff Crammond's GP2010 when you need it?

Re: F1 2010

I wish Geoff Crammond would make another F1 game.
I still play GP4 now, thanks to all the mods.

But I am starting to get very unimpressed with the gameplay and the severe lack of realism.

Re: F1 2010

two positive reviews. You can't take mags seriously but i'm reading them them so it gives me at least some indication o how the game will be :)

Re: F1 2010

Can't really trust game reviewers these days.
With all the backhanders magazines get, if you believe all the stories regarding the Kane & Lynch incident.

I personally never trust magazine reviews, used to trust edge but even they have gotten very biased towards certain developers.

Re: F1 2010

Gamespot gave the original Kane and Lynch a very shoddy review, and to be fair they werent the only one. Eidos phoned up and complained as they had just splashed out on a shit load of advertising on the site, however Jeff Gerstman stood by the review, he was the Editor of the site at the time; and thus he got fired.

lol you don't need to tell me (PES 2008, FIFA 10 etc..)

But with a fresh game like this, it at least gives me a little indication to how good it is.

What cunts

What's the point in the review sites if they cant give honest opinions

Re: F1 2010

There will be no demo.

Can't help but feel suspicious about that. Codies games invariably look decent, but drive terribly (imo). I think I'll be waiting from feedback from buyers (who prefer sim to arcade) before taking the plunge.

It's encouraging that the devs say they've built the game as a sim, then added driving aids to make it accessible for those who prefer an arcade game, but their driving models and tyre physics are generally amongst the worst I've ever played - more like driving a hovercraft that a car with rubber tyres on tarmac.

Then again, that sort of lightweight feel is probably reasonably appropriate for F1, and I couldn't be bothered with a full-on F1 sim, so this might hit the mark.

I personally dont think safety car and formation laps are that much of an issue considering you cant ever retire through a mechanical fault.

I take it you can still crash out, ending your race?

And are there punctures? Can you wear your tyres out?

Nah the point is why do people bother to subscribe to and help these reviews sites/mags exist. People should stop buying them since reviews are so blatantly corrupt these days is there any point?

yes yes and yes

How, if 150mph into a tyre wall doesn't do the job?...

Re: F1 2010

Might get this for the PC...

1. It's cheaper
2. Got my PC hooked up to TV anyway
3. Dirt 2 runs really smoothly
