Now F1 2011

Re: F1 2010

first time ever i got that strange itchy feeling about an f1 game since i played f1 97 on the psx

wow that's a long time ago. but the game was awesome. spent weeks with it...this could be just as much fun

I also remember that, esp waiting for the demo that kept being delayed. F197 has always been my fav console F1 game but looking at them latest vids this is gonna be huge. It's bringing back all that excitement i had 1st time round, wanting to read all the previews and news over and over.

Re: F1 2010

I think codemasters have made out what type of game this is going to be if you cant retire from a mechanical fault.

I still play GP4 all the time and I admit is annoys you but then you just think shit, but you get on with it and I like that.

I was really looking forward to the game but sounds like CM are making an arcade to suit the console gamers.

But I have preordered it for £19.79, so if it is crap least it is only £20.

Re: F1 2010

Nice brake dust on the crash vid.

I'm not sure overall, it looks decent enough and sure it will be good, but I dunno if it's worth getting if I've already go rfactor?

Rfactor is probably better on track and obviously for customisation, but f1 will have all the official glitz and glamour of s license. Anyone know annoying more on the career mode?

Re: F1 2010

I'm satisfied with the damage effects, it' defiantly could be better though in regards to the bodywork and suspension lamination but the brake dust, cylinder damage looks nice, so it's cool :)

Re: F1 2010

I am sure the game will be flawed to hell as it is their first F1 game, I just hope their is potential there to make it a great game next year.

I also hope the PC version is modable otherwise it will have the lasting appeal of listening to an interview with Nigel Mansell.

Well that is why I think we should not be harsh on them what ever game will be like...
It is theirs firs F1 game if you don't count last years F109 on Wii and PSP...I think that this will just be like some kind of base for next versions and so...they said that they are thinking about putting in safety car, formation lap and few more things next year....

Re: F1 2010

Given what happened in yesterday's race, what happens in the same situation in the game or will the situation never come up?

Re: F1 2010

His wheels locked didn't they? After he looked on Button's outside for a possible overtaking manoeuvre, he moved back into line and he locked up. I assume that's what happened.

Re: F1 2010

Sorry, I was referring to the lack of safety car in the game.

Re: F1 2010

I personally dont think safety car and formation laps are that much of an issue considering you cant ever retire through a mechanical fault.
So going for realism isnt high on their agenda.

He was just being reckless! He didn't realize it was beginning to rain so the grip levels had changed. He anticipated the move poorly, locked up, try to correct the car only to go straight into Button and destroyed his radiator!

Just annoyed me that he took Button out the race for such an avoidable incident! In contrast Button hasn't made a single noticeable error since 2008 when is dog of a Honda crashed into he rain soaked Silverstone! But shit happens in F1!

Re: F1 2010

Just throw a dice halfway through each race and whenever you get a 6 (or whatever number you choose) you crash out. ;)

Haven't bothered with F1 for years now, and racing games bore me quickly aswell, but the whole careermode sounds really good.

Re: F1 2010

The AI cars retire from mechanical faults.
You can retire from a hydrolic failure but only if you play as one of the 4 new teams.

I personally would just like the option in there, so you can make your own choice. Yes if I am winning a GP and then my engine goes with 3-4 laps too go I will be angry but that is F1.

I am sure the game is going to be amazing on the graphics as it really does look it, but when it comes to racing games I prefer realism and liking it to play like a simulation.

I am just glad that I pre-ordered on the PC so if it crap, which I am starting to think it will be I only wasted £20, then I will just go back to playing GP4 and rFactor.

Re: F1 2010

If you look at the top 6-7 teams this season, there's been only a handful of retirements due to mechanical failures!

Hamilton engine in Hungary, and brake problem in Spain.
Button with the radiator error thing in Monaco.
Vettel brake failure in Australia.
Alonso in Malaysia,
Kubica has some problem at Silverstone.

Back 10 cars used to break down at a rate of once in every 3-4 races! Now it's like once, twice a whole season!

So when it's just referring to you, it dosen't make too much of a difference for me :)

Sauber and the new teams have had their the most but the others have been very reliable! So I'm very content with having issues such as brakes and engine's over heating and stuff so you would have to manage your car or else it'll hamper your driving.

Re: F1 2010

That car looks way to easy to control in wet weather.
The steering also look very weird.

Looks very much a case of all graphics no gameplay.
