Next Gen Consoles

And what about previous previous to that? Want to mention stuff that was talked about 10 years ago when the current consoles came out?

See I posted same nonsense as you. Fact Is we was discussing about os. Whatever wad discussed about pc gaming was further away in this thread and only a troll would bring it up.

Why on earth would I bring up something from 10 years ago? There's nonsense and then there is Jonney's nonsense.

It's not trolling asking people to stop bringing pcs up in a console thread. No one butted in and demanded it end mid conversation, it was when it ended, everyone was asked to leave it now BEFORE it went off on a complete tangent AGAIN.

'Only' £400?

To bring the pc discussion back, sorry everyone, a 6GB videocard ( which for me is interesting for 3d visualisation) costs around 999e. I realise it's not 1 to 1 comparable but 8gb ddr5 for 399 seems cheap to me. Last year I bought a 3gb card and that was 300e.

Also meant 400e, which is about 350pound.

can we just bloody end the convo?

WHY do you have to go on about it?

Mods, i am letting this pc talk go away but it is being spoilt by others.

Consoles are always sold at a loss these days, and that's after already benefiting from massive economies of scale in the production process.

As you said, it's not a 1-to-1 comparison. These consoles don't have a dedicated graphics card but an all-in-one chip. Similarly, the memory is shared system and video RAM. It's really difficult to make direct price/performance comparisons.

It's called a conversation Jonney,I have the right to reply. Especially when you asks questions of me.
If you can't handle other people's opinions or telling you when your wrong about something, you need to grow up and wake up.

Or maybe just go crying MODS like a silly little girl?

Yeah well, those cards right at the top of the range are a pointless waste of money - you don't actually need to spend more than £150 on a graphics card (my last one cost £99 and came with DiRT 3 as well). There are never any games that require that sort of power in any case and when there is, the cards have dropped £200 or so.

Doesn't matter what the system is, to drop £400 all in one go can't have 'only' in the sentence as far as I'm concerned.

Good try, but for your information my PC is midrange at best. So it's definitely not a case of 'I have the biggest dick' or other such rubbish.

That is true but the PC thing still has this complexity which most people are not ready to commit to. I used to game on PC (whoa, it's been 12-13 years since!) and even then it was the "you need this driver, you don't have the latest version of this, you have to optimize this video card" and all this shit . With consoles, I put the game in and it just f**king works. Or it doesn't, in which case the game or console are broken.

I have a very decent PC but I don't use it for games, I don't feel the need to. Just give me my console games, they may not be as hot looking as what I could coax out of my PC but I just don't care. Also I just don't have the time for it. Hell, all that money I'm saving from the work I'm not doing on making PC games work has probably added to a new PS4.

Xbox One: keep your Xbox 360 if you want to play XBLA games, suggests Spencer

Xbox One won’t lay existing XBLA games. Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has suggested that if you want to continue playing them you should keep your Xbox 360.

Speaking with Gamespot, Spencer shed light on the incompatibility of XBLA games and Xbox One.

“Those games will continue to run on your Xbox 360 for as long as your Xbox 360 runs,” he explained. “The box is not backward compatible and we think for somebody who invests in a large digital library that you want to keep your [Xbox 360]. Keep that as a vibrant part of the ecosystem.

“That’s why we’ve made sure that your identity, your friends, are constant between both platforms. You don’t have a separate identity on Xbox One or [Xbox 360]; it’s the same, you are you. My friend’s network is the same on both boxes, my achievements are the same. So we think that service component is an important component to keep constant across both devices”.

Talking about the future of XBLA on Xbox 360, Spencer added that something big will be announced at E3 next month. “I think the [Xbox 360] is going to be very vibrant for many years,” he said. “In fact, we have a huge, I think it’s huge, [Xbox 360] announcement for E3 that I keep wanting to talk about, but I can’t.

“I think it will surprise people. I loved what we did with Minecraft; bring Minecraft to the box; six million units later it’s kind of a beast. I think there’s a lot of life in the [Xbox 360] for years to come.”

So, will you be keeping your Xbox 360 as advised?

That's a bit of a bummer for people with large collections of XBLA games. Surely it wouldn't be that difficult to facilitate old XBLA games on the XBone? They are mostly quite simple downloadable games after all.

Never giving up like a child? Come on you are better then this. Just let it go .

I'm not wrong btw I just don't want to go down your level and you can block m if you like if that makes you sleep better

The Xbox has forgotten its a games console.

Has it? That's news to me. Where have you read the article that suggests its not going to be a console that can play top notch next gen games? It has extra bits bundled in but so do the current gen consoles. Not sure what everyone (around the web) is crying about to be honest.

I'm glad we both agree I'm better than this. Thanks for finally understanding and acknowledging my superiority.
You are wrong though, asking someone to please not start up another conversation and take it off topic again is not trolling. If someone asks you to wait in line, pass them the salt or be quiet... That's not trolling. It's asking you to do something. No one minds discussions about pricing or comparative tech. They just don't want another PCs are the best chat starting again which IS trolling when it's in a thread specifically for 'next gen CONSOLES'.

As for the sleep comment, I'm not sure why you're thinking about me sleeping in my bed but well leave that for your shrink to discover.

God you do post like anything you say is The Truth and anyone else is wrong. I was talking about using it for 3d work, not games. As for the "only" comment, that's just relative to what you can/want to spend....
