I see they're trying to get the most use out of their third kit as possible.

Not really.. I think that the 09/10 puma designs (both of them, the one with the "V" and the one used by Italy) have a lot of potential but they're not being used properly because of wrong colouring and detail applying..
For example Lazio away (navy) does actually look good but Lazio home (light blue) doesn't..

Agree, I like this designs but, like you said, colours in much of them are wrong...

Probably because the kit looks rank.

Also I really don't understand why Chelski have a navy away kit. They might get away with wearing it at Blackburn and Wigan, maybe Man City as well but they'll be wearing the third kit more often in the event of a clash.
