Lesnar v Carwin UFC 116

Carwin was a beast out of the blocks, but credit to Lesnar for staying there. Carwin was dropping some real bombs. However, he gassed himself to early by trying to finish him in the first. Therefore, it was a different ball game in the second round and Lesnar showed some great offence and wrestling ability. I'm happy Lesnar won, but I'd love to see a rematch.

The other standout performance of the night was Bonner, really happy he won, he looked desperate for the victory and his persistence paid off. Great fight!

UFC 116

Wow, very good main event! I was so pumped up during the first round, cheering Carwin on but you could see he'd gassed himself out and I was gutted.

Fair play to Brock though, nice movement to get the choke and he did well to hang in during the first round as well.

Akiyama v Leben was Fight Of The Night for me though, really enjoyed that one and Akiyama has a new fan in me :)

Hmm, I thought I'd added this one?

Definitely the fight of the night, great effort from both sides. Both were hard as nails and a showed a range of skills. I too will be following Akiyama now.

I would have gone but the card is aweful so didn't want to give them my money

Pity everyone else did meaning we will get more shit cards like it

Admittedly it isn't great, but short of going to Vegas it's the only chance we'll get to see a live event.

On the other hand, I'm hoping our seats give us a good view of Ms Celeste... ;)

Block 110 (lower tier), so going by the map we have the fighters entrance to our right - Have you ordered yours?

Have I fuck. Need some money first! How much were your tickets?

It is a pretty shit card too, Coopz is right. Fuck knows why Bisping is headlining over Hardy v Condit too.

Looking at it again, and the frankly ridiculous ticket prices I don't even know if I'll bother going.

£110. Felt guilty buying it at the time as well. Not sure how that compares to the big boxing events, though I'd imagine they aren't cheap either?

Hopefully they'll give us some decent fights for the rest of the card. Not sure if Rampage is still in contract, but as he usually (or used to) trains with Bisping he'd have generated some interest. Won't happen though...

Enjoyed UFC 117 :)

Jon Fitch is probably the most boring MMA fighter I've seen, always sends me to sleep

GUTTED for Sonnen, so close but fair play to Silva for hanging in all that time and getting the sub. Same as Struve as well for that matter.

Here is the UFC 118 Preview

Who Are You Picking?

Yesterday the Spider miraculously won, and he said he had an injured rib. An injured rib hurts a lot, believe me. Now, BJ Also said he was having a sickness in his camp, he was with flu/fever I believe

What are your thoughts about BJ saying he wasn't 100%

Personally, I believe if you are sick, and you believe you can lose the belt because of sickness, then I believe you shouldn't fight

I also believe your camp should be pretty much cardio the last two weeks, and technique, but sparing should be relaxed

I still remember how Shamrock injured himself 20 minutes before the fight, that was pretty funny

Dan Henderson, Randy Couture never get injured before a fight. I believe it's because they train smarter, they are wise, since they are older.

Some fighters, like Tito Ortiz, it's almost comical. He ALWAYS says he's 100%, then he either pulls out of the fight (Like this last season of the Ultimate Whiner with Chuck Liddell), or, he fights and AFTER LOOSING says he is crying all the days waking up because of his C4-C5-C6-C7-CXXX vertebrates

I guarantee you against Matt Hamil, if he looses, he will say he wasn't 100%

Now, let's go back to BJ, I saw him slower than what usually is, but I didn't saw him sick, or weak, like fighters that cut too much weight

What do you think?
I think BJ needs to take him down, and submit him, and he has a good chance

I think Frankie's Edgar boxing is OUTSTANDING, even better than BJ. BJ has heavy hands, but Frankie is almost like Mohamed Ali dancing like a bee

I'm looking forward for that fight!

Hell yeah

Nick Diaz vs KJ Noons rematch official for Strikeforce: 'San Jose' on October 9

Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz will finally get the opportunity to avenge his most recent loss -- to KJ Noons via technical knockout (cuts) way back in 2007 -- when the long-awaited rematch goes down at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California on October 9.

The bout will be contested at 170-lbs instead of 155-lbs and will be for Diaz's world title. The fight will mark his first defense since defeating Marius Žaromskis earlier this year to win the vacant strap.

Finally got round to watching UFC 117! Good event overall, great main event too!

Looking forward to UFC 118 tonight!

Can't wait for UFC 118 tonight

Mainly because i have seen all the shit James Toney has been talking and i have no idea which way its gonna go. Obviously Couture isn't gonna stand with him but all is takes is 1 punch from Toney and its definitely "Lights out" for Randy

Quite a few other good fights as well Diaz - Davis, Maynard - Ken Flo, BJ - Edgar and the brits Osipczak and Winner are involved as well so it should be good

So what's your predictions on the main fights chaps?

Coture via KO, just for the irony. BJ Penn on points. Diaz via sub or KO. Maynard on points. I'm rooting for the two Brits, but have only seen a few fights so can't really say.
