The Ultimate Fighter Season 10 Episode 3

Kimbo Slice v Roy Nelson

All that build up, and what a poor fight. Kimbo barely did anything all fight, apart from a few punch flairs now and again he had a very limited takedown defence and had no ground game at all. We all knew Roy was aiming to take Kimbo down, and he did exactly that. What was Kimbo thinking? On the other hand Roy was really unfit, he looked slow and sluggish and his stand-up game looked amateurish. In fact, he had no ability in the stand up game whatsoever, and brought nothing to the table bar his weight. Let's be honest it was his gut that won him the match, once he smothered Kimbo on the ground Kimbo had no chance of getting up, all he could do was stay there and take the beatings. Roy couldn't even finish the fight in the first round, he was clearly out of energy and his punches looked incredibly weak. The stoppage had to come in the second round Kimbo didn't have any defence and Roy was slapping him to death underneath him.

Awful.

FUCKING HELL!

Can you actually see anything if you're not ringside?

Yeah the ones we have are good becuase they look into the cage and we should be at the front.

The ringside ones aint meant to be that good either because of the mesh and all the posts in the way, but you can hear all the action

TUF S10E03

Disappointed. I'm really taking a shine to Kimbo the more I see him, very likeable character and he's good to watch. I agree with MJ that there wasn't much Kimbo could do when that fat belly landed on him and there's probably only one or two people there who might have a chance of getting out of the belly.

Roy is just a tit really. His attitude stinks, his fighting looked lame there and I hope he doesn't do anything else as I've got no interest in seeing him fight again really.

Next weeks show sounds interesting though! And Marcus made me laugh talking about D&D, comic books and gardening, I thought he was taking the piss at first but he was telling the truth  He's a likeable guy as well, funny show that one :D

Same old same old for Kimbo really, this was how he should have been beat against James Thompson but the ref let it go on for ages even though he was bounding on his head. Seems like he never learn from last time as Thompson used the Crucifix over and over again successfully on him

Yeah, not really a surprising result to me. Kimbo had to know him out on his feet, and "Big Country" has a good chin (as seen vs Arlovski). I love all the hard work Kimbo put in...but he has a long way to go before we will be hearing Brock vs Kimbo. If he couldn't stop a take down from Big Country...he would get distroyed by brock. And trust me that Brock's hammer fits would have a lot more power that mr. slappy's. It personally blame Rampage for his awful strategy. Why wouldn't he 1st choose a match for Kimbo vs a stand up guy. Where he would have had the advantage on the feet, and could have won....and then had plenty of time to train before his next fight. But Rampage is there for entertainment and not for actual good coaching strategy.

Kimbo Slice is nothing but a sideshow freak. His in the TUF to boost ratings and thats it. The guy has meant to be training MMA for 2 yet cant do the basics on his back. The guy is a joke and its a joke that the UFC are even considering using this guy in real fights.

Very disappointing fight :((. Was looking forward to this for about 2 weeks! Gutted.

Roy Nelson is a total prick, like Dana said, after the fight he was acting like had had just totally beaten the shit out of Kimbo, but in actual fact he was just so fucking fat that Kimbo couldn't move. Not that his punches were so hard it had to be stopped. Fucking fat prick. I hope someone proper knocks him out.

I know Rampage's coaching isn't the sharpest, but he did acknowledge that Kimbo would have a problem if it went to ground, as he struggled in training with the 'bigger' lads.

I'd also love to see Roy 'Fat Cuntry' taken down a peg or 3. To act like he'd had an epic fight just shows how much of a tosser he is. I'm not as clued up as some of you on MMA, but to me it seems his only advantage is his bulk. If he fought one of the taller guys I reckon he'd get done...

Some of the things Rampage was saying about him had me in stitches:

"When he takes a shower I wonder if his feet get wet"
"How does he aim when he pees"

To McSweeney:
"Take Rashad's nuts out your mouth and then talk to me"

This week it'll be interesting to see who the traitor is too...

I thought Rampage was out of order having pops at McSweeney, as it wouldn't be Rampage that'd be kicked out if shit went down between them both

A little bit, though Quinton is a hothead so could see it happening. Rashad was trying to get him to bite by winding him up about Keith Jardine after he'd appeared. As that didn't work, they got into another bickering match (by now McSweeney & someone else were behind Evans), and he thought McSweeney was also having a dig so had a go at him too.

Ironic that Rashad told the cameras that he dragged McSweeney off before he swung for Jackson, but if he'd not said anything then it wouldn't have happened!

I'm not defending either one as they're as bad as each other, which tbh makes it entertaining. It'll probably kick off again this week!

It wasn't Nelsons size that got kept him in that position its just the fact that Kimbo is shocking on the ground (watch him vs Thompson and see the same thing happen). I thought in Episode 2 he was looking good on the ground but they obviously just put in a few reversal clips to make out he learnt a thing or 2 to sell the fight more

Nelson went in with the right game plan, see if standing works and beat him at his own strength to shut him up, if not take him down and dominate him which he did easilly

I think Nelson is getting a lot of extra flak here because he is a cocky prick. The reality is that he did what he had to do to beat a dangerous fighter who had dangerous power. Nelson's one of the most polished fighters on the show with a good chin. Shit, Rashad got to a title shot with only 2 fights where he didn't just get the take down and then do no damage on the ground....and they said Nelson wasn't coachable

Are most of you guys routeing for McSweeney because he's British? I personally no longer have a favorite. I think Demico Rogers will be good though, and Rampage's best shot at having a winner of the season.

My fav is Kimbo :) And big Marcus. Don't really know much about the others until it's their turn to fight and they get some camera time.

Yeah I want McSweeney to win as he's English :PP. Kimbo is a nice bloke, but a shit MMA fighter at the mo. If he REALLY improves then it would be nice to see him in the UFC properly.

Dream 11 post-fight press conferences
YouTube - Keiichi Sasahara - Post-Event Interview - Oct.6.2009

Dream 11 is in the books and the post-fight press conferences are available on Dream's YouTube channel, so let's take a look at what was said.

Bibiano Fernandes won't fight until 2010: Dream promoter Keiichi Sasahara said at his post-fight press conference that the cut over Fernandes' eye likely means he won't be able to defend his Dream featherweight belt this year. When he does fight next year, it might be a rematch of Tuesday's main event, which Fernandes won by split decision over Hiroyuki Takaya.

Shinya Aoki vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri likely for New Year's Eve: Sasahara said Aoki will want a couple of months to rest, and that he should defend the Dream lightweight belt against Kawajiri at the New Year's Eve Dynamite show.

Kazushi Sakuraba is likely to fight at Dream 12: "Sakuraba doesn't look injured, so we'd really like to invite him to participate in Osaka," Sasahara said. Dream 12 takes place October 25, and it will be Dream's first event in a cage instead of a ring.

Boxers aren't used to getting kicked: American boxer Rubin Williams, who lost to Sakuraba in an embarrassing mismatch, said repeatedly at his post-fight press conference that he was unprepared for the kicking element of MMA.

The Super Hulk Tournament is all about ratings: "Minowa showed us the great dynamic of the Super Hulk Tournament," Sasahara said. "I'm expecting a good TV rating."

Minowaman is a wrestler first and a fighter second: "I'd like to maintain the MMA approach in the training, but my feeling is that I'm still a pro wrestler," said Ikuhisa Minowa, who will fight Sokoudjou in the Super Hulk Tournament final on New Year's Eve.

American fighters don't like Japanese refs: Two losing Americans, Bob Sapp and Joe Warren, complained that the refs had stopped their fights early. Warren has a strong case tht he didn't tap out against Fernandes and didn't deserve to have his fight stopped, but Sapp wasn't fighting back against Sokoudjou and has no reason to gripe about the stoppage

Why does Bob Sapp still fight

He is shite

$$$!! I seriously think he dosent even train anymore. He is no longer a draw in japan so surprised he still gets the bookings he does. Although he is pratically a jobber now so if you have a fighter who needs a win on the record just throw them in with Sapp.
