Silva was fucking brilliant  Loved the way he danced around and the arrogance from him, superb stuff :D

Not a bad event but the first few fights were pretty shit, very one-sided. Felt sorry for Sadollah as I didn't think the ref needed to stop it there, he certainly wasn't defenceless and Hendricks didn't even seem to be really connecting for all the wild swinging he was doing.

Anderson Silva has told UFC Dana White that he can forget about trying to match him up with UFC light-heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.

White told the post-UFC 101 press conference that he could “make that fight happen”, but Silva started shaking his head immediately.

“These two are friends but it is not about friendship, it is about competing to find out who is the best,” said White. “It is no different to a basketball game or a football game.

"If Anderson gets to that point where he starts taking out 205-pounders, I promise you I can make that fight happen.”

Silva butted in with an immediate refusal.

“Lyoto is my friend, he is my brother and there is no way that fight will happen,” he said, adding with a laugh, “Not just because he is my friend but because he would be a big problem for me.”

White just smiled as Silva’s words were translated, but the UFC is notoriously short with fighters who do not wish to fight their friends or team mates and there is a potential White/Silva conflict down the road.

The UFC president also took the time to repeat his opposition to Silva facing former boxing champion Roy Jones Jr.

“I just don’t see the point,” he told reporters.

However, any such disputes between White and his middleweight champion are in the future. For now, Silva has rehabilitated his image with fans who had rounded on him after has last two uninspiring performances.

Reminded me of Ali with his ducking and moving

Penn put on a masterclass. His way too good at 155lbs for anyone. His standup is excellent and his near impossible to take down. The balance and calmness when pressed up against the cage is different level stuff.

RUN FORREST RUN. Griffin got humiliated. Trying to stand with Silva was suicideHe got picked apart and the KO was funny!! Silva is awesome. Rampage would get ko’ed and Wandy would get killed!!!

More fighters should work on head movement. Makes a huge huge difference in MMA even if you just have ordinary head movement skills.

Penn was too good for Florian. He never looked in danger of losing to be honest.

Anderson Silva - WOW  This guy is scary! Seriously scary. I think he could probably beat Machida for the light heavyweight belt and have that too. I can't really see anyone at Middleweight that is capable of doing him damage. Maybe if GSP stepped up to middleweight that might be a good fight?

Both are counter punchers so that would be a shit fight imo

News about the loser from the Silva Forrest fight (So obvious spoilers here)

News from one of Forrest's trainers.

"His jaw was dislocated very early in the fight...then he took several more punches to the jaw. Apparently he can't hear out of the ear on that side either. He left the octagon because he needed medical attention asap. At first they thought his jaw was broken, then said it was dislocated."

That wasn't the case according to Griffins managers, he was just a emotional wreck after and ran off

As for the event as a whole it wasn't the best, they always say styles make matches and Silva was the only one that had a guy who suited his style. Its good seeing Silva doing what he does best and thoroughly entertaining the crowd. The thing is thought that his next opponent weather it be Henderson or GSP wont let it be a stand-up fight so we wont see the best Silva has to offer

Someone suggested Vitor Belfort somewhere down the line, now that would be a matchup

Gina Carano Says No To Playboy

Gina Carano's manager told TMZ this week that Playboy has approached Carano about appearing in the magazine "multiple times" over the past year but that Carano has quickly shot down all the offers. The manager went on to say that Carano showed so little interest in doing a photo spread for the magazine that they never even discussed money with Playboy.
