Gameplay have told me i will be in the second batch of 360 premium edition packs. God knows when that will be but before xmas i hope anyway


Wrighty should not have been so bad tempered and cancelled so quick. i reckon you where in the 1st batch :D

i actually ordered on the 19th not 18th .... some people on the 19th are in the first batch too

Well, after 55 hours of pain, cold, and suffering, we have got our Xbox 360 and successfully smashed it outside Best Buy minutes later, with a large sledgehammer in front of a few Xbox Fanboys who just bought brand new 360s. Short video clip will be posted tomorrow (23rd) and the longer documentary style one will be posted with the next few days. For now, enjoy these pictures!

I'm kind of looking at this from two sides now. I want a console, but there seems to be an awful lot of folk having problems with theirs, so I'm not too sure I'll be that bothered if I don't get one. Apparently it's very noisy, which is weird because I'm sure sites said it was quiet? I wish I could put it down to folk stirring Dave but I doubt that's the case, there's too many folk saying the same thing.

If you buy one on release day, and it's broken, and can't get a replacement 'cos they're sold out every where. You're gonna be pissed.

Exactly, a warranty isn't much good in that situation as you're going to be left waiting for a replacement anyway. You'd be as well waiting till they get more machines in, to the point where you can walk into a shop and pick one up off the shelf, at least you'd have £300+ in your pocket in the meantime!

That said, I'm still gonna try and get one :lol:.

Feeling the same as Classic over here, dont feel too bothered about the 360, but might still get it for the sake of having a new console.

Xbox 360 overheating

Here are some of the complaints :

“I play Kameo (interesting game) for about 30 minutes and the 360 crashes!!! Ugh…. Power adaptor goes from solid green to a flashing orange…. What next? Well, shoot off an email to MS, get one back not too long ago, find out that the flashing orange means that Xbox has overheated!

“I just received my Xbox 360 today. It was freezing cold so I let it sit for about an hour. Plugged everything in got it up and started playing COD 2. I completed training and while it was loading it just went to a black screen. I waited for awhile and nothing happened so I turned it off, let it sit and turned it back on. I turned it back on to 3 red flashing lights. The top left and the two bottom.

“I found out that it’s the hard drive. They said they have received numerous calls already. I unplugged my hard drive and it worked fine. Put it back on my box and red lights again.”

It worked when I set all my settings up. But I put in PGR3, it freezes when I get to the menu, did it 3 times. I put in PDZ, it freezes in the menu.”


“All five of the games I bought freeze up after a few minutes, I am assuming because of the 360 heating up. It gets unusually hot, the game discs as well are red hot.

This is the 360 thread, Thomas might prefer Playstation but his post is in the right place. To say the launch has been riddled with problems would be putting it mildly, the volume of overheating/HD problems is alarming.

Thats not good :( .....but tbh, I don't see how PS3 will improve things as they will have to use even more cheaper parts to reduce losses. Next Gen machines = more problems...

Which brings me to my next point, BusinessWeek has posted an article about how much loss (approximately) each 360 entails to Micrsoft. The article is here.

Basically, an average loss of $126+ per console.

Those pics you posted Thomas, it's because the ones on the left are taken with PGR's photo mode. People slated GT for this, all the press photos were done in the photo mode and of course in-game they don't looks as good, it appears PGR has the same problem.

You can see what I was talking about when I mentioned it was a bit jaggy when I played it last month.

Oh fucking great, the one 360 launch game that looked good and the screens were fake. I wonder what Gears of War will look like when released :(

Microsoft did say that this was a very very minor thing thats happening in just a few machines. I hope when they say that, its like the PSP dead pixels problem.

Like most things, this is being blown out of proportion IMO. I've only come across about 3 people on different forums that are having problems with their 360s
