JayM, I heard a few weeks ago Argos were doing pre-orders, and you can't buy from their site any more they're sold out of both packs.

If Quake 4 is shite at least with amazon I can cancel my order!
Will have to play PDZ instead!
Also worried that my PC with only Service Pack 1 (not 2) will not be able to stream to my xbox360 via the wireless bridge thingy I ordered (if I ever receive one)
Upgrading to SP2 caused unimaginable pain to my PC so I had to uninstall.

Quake 4 is pretty poor, I've got it on PC. Mindblowing graphics, but it looks like they were trying to sell it on that factor alone. Its just your average FPS

Reviews are good for Q4 when they don't mention the slowdown and shit when they notice it.... strange how the good review writers didn't notice it!
Looking forward for co-op Quake 2 with the Mrs even if the main game may not be the dogs bollocks....

Was sent this link, ordered it and then fired off an e-mail asking if they can confirm I'll get one, we'll see what happens. The other packages on their site are all sold out while this one wasn't so it might be alright, if they reply saying they can't guarantee me one I can always cancel it.

I don't want PD0 or the memory unit, so I'll have to try fobbing them off if I get the machine.

I'd rather wait a few extra months for a Premium bundle, I'm hearing all sorts of things from Americans about the 360 scratching disks, only working when you put it upside down and even not working at all. :|

Yeah I've heard similar stories, but then I've also heard a lot say there's nothing wrong with their machine and it appears to be a matter of luck. The next batch of machines is probably at the stage of development that these things can't be fixed anyway, they're having to churn them out that fast.

I work at the Mall 3rd shift as a Security Guard.. and BEST BUY will have 50 XBOX 360 for sale.. guess what more than 100 people came and waited outside in a line.. from 10 pm until 10 am .. on the freaking rain.. just to get XBOX 360.. insane.. I can only imagine what kind of kaos PS3 will cause.

Sony will probably not screw up the launch like Microsoft. On the PS3 launch day you'll probably be able to walk in to any store and buy one.

It'll very much depend on when it's released, and how long between regions it takes to get released, but I very very very much doubt that on day one you could walk into a store and get a PS3, no matter were in the world you are mate.

Having a yarn about this on msg last night, really MS didnt need to have a Core and a Premium pack at launch, the demand was always going to exceed supply, all packs should of been Premium's, and they all would of sold out. The Core's could off been shipped a few months later. Though it appears there will be quite a few Core pack available in stores come launch day from the word on the street (just of the phone to Huggy Bear there ;) )

Anyone got news about Amazon. I pre-ordered on 10th October. I did get a messege on my delivery status on the item saying my goods will arrive no later than 24th December which is good I guess. But I would prefer it on release day.

I'm awaiting amazons reply-will post as soon as I hear something.

Can't we just buy the core system then a Hard drive pack and download everything onto that eg xbox emulator etc ...bet the next problem will be LIVE not coping with increased demand!

Wouldn't order from that link I posted earlier, they got back to me and said can't guarantee you'll get one, reliant on how much stock they get from the manufacturer, blah blah blah, so I cancelled that one.

Everything sold out. Some stores haven't yet cleaned up the remnants of the refugee camps from last night.

The stores that really care about their customers have hung the "Xbox 360 is temporarily sold out" signs, so that one can more conveniently drive past and drive away disillusioned.

As worrying as it is to hear about all these reports of faulty systems I am taking it with a pinch of salt. You have no idea if these people are just trolling the boards trying to cause a stir.

There are more working systems than faulty ones, thats all I care about.

I found out that my pre-order is the second delivery batch, so i'll get mine in a week or two. With little time to play it until January, and a bundle of unfinished PS2 games (MGS3, God of War, Prince of Persia), i can afford to wait.

I played the King Kong demo and the Call of Duty demo. Kong had great graphics and when the T-Rex chased, i was pissing my pants. But the Kong fight vs the TRex was disappointing technically.

Call of Duty was LUSCIOUS! It was a desert fight scene and the sound and the graphics on the HDTV display were booootiful. The worst thing was that when you zoom-aim, you lose sight of the enemey because he goes "behind" the barrel of your gun. I couldnt get accurate shots off.

It goes without saying that without an HDTV, you're limiting your enjoyment of the games.

13:07 An armed thief has stuck a gun in the face of a US store manager and forced them to hand over two Xbox 360 consoles.

According to a report on GameSpot, the robbery occurred yesterday morning at an Electronics Boutique branch in Stafford, Virginia, but ultimately for the perpetrator proved unsuccessful. Police were quick to respond, catching the thief not long after he or she made a getaway from the shop. Sorry mate, but you'll just have to buy one like everyone else.

Happily, no one was injured during the event.

Further reports that the two Xbox 360s stolen are currently undergoing counselling following the traumatic ordeal remain unconfirmed.

also CW - you shouldn't have cancelled your order from gameplay. they have more stock for the first allocation.

i never got one , and haven't cancelled my preorder :( and i ordered same day as wrighty
