Microsoft Xbox 360

Mad Catz 2

From reviews

Another great thing about this product is that it’s the first comfortable steering wheel mounted on the lap. It’s extremely snug and cozy, especially with the two retractable legs on the side pulled down for extra stability.

One of the best features of the MC2 is the fact that it was designed for the lap as opposed to a desk. Especially in the era of the 360, console gaming has become a couch-based experience, and mounting a wheel on a coffee table is rarely ideal placement. The MC2's underside is molded to rest comfortably across one's lap and incorporates retractable rubberized wings that slide down on either side to grip the outsides of one's legs.

£260 for a seat  The wheel and stand probably push that to well over £300! :CONFUSE:

I was going to get a wheel but didn't know they cost that much, playing a simulation driving game with a controller doesn't feel right and it's hard to control, but now i'll think again knowing that's what it costs... I'm with Tim that I can't see a steering wheel attached to your legs being much good, maybe it works better than it sounds.

Seat & Stand - £260
Mounting Kit - £20
Official MS Wheel - £70

Pricey but I'm treating myself as I got this new job :)).

As for that MC wheel, I'll have to look at some pics of it. Just can't see it working well on a lap. The wheel will be too close to you. Also, when I'm driving in real life, if I have anything on my lap it falls off after turning the first corner!

I had a G25 wheel last year that clamped to a desk and it was cool, so I was worried about switching to the lap based MS wheel.

To be honest, its so well made that it didnt bother me in the slightest - the biggest problem was the pedals as I have a wooden floor and the pedals are really designed for carpet as they have hooks underneath. They slipped around a bit, but you are meant to hook your heels into the back of the pedal base, but it just doesnt work that well.

I have a rug now with a table on, so the pedals should be more comfy this time around.

I would have definitely got the G25 if they made it for Microsoft. The MS wheel can be used on the lap but it just doesn't feel right for me.

The wheel i have was designed for the lap and is curved underneath to fit your thighs and the legs that come down also curve round the side to grip them (so you can push outward if you wish to grip even more) and it is very comfortable and the wheel is exactly in the position you want it to be as well so no lack of comfort there either

Mad Catz 2

I would take a pic of the underside but my phones out for repair and they gave me a C520 esque one in the meantime

Its this and you can see the curves slightly underneath but not the legs

I'd get that but I didn't realise it had no force feedback, so I'm going to see if I can get the MS wheel for cheap somewhere.

PB, you use it on your lap then? No problems?

Is your 360 still inside 3 years RROD? If so, towel the MoFo till it RROD's and send the bugger away. RROD of death repairs are almost a brand new machine now, they swap out the motherboard and dvd drive, well they did when my machine got RROD. IF it's older than 3 years, ask on a forum somewhere, some people can fix them, if not bin it and get a new machine, sell the old one on ebay for parts or something, power supplies alone can go for 30 quid on the bay.

MFR Date on the back is 2006 - 09 - 11.. Unless they use a weird technique that means that's November, I've missed it by 5 days.. annoyingly.

Try it still because mine was a similar date which ran out a few weeks before mine broke and they still fixed it

I've had my 360 since March 08 and have had no problems with it whatsoever, I must have just been really lucky :).

(Tempting fate by saying this...)
Posted August 18th...

I tempted fate and it fucking did this...

Just earlier today (at about 6pm), I tried switching on my 360 and it came up with the E74...
Luckily it's covered by the extended 3 year warranty, so I should be getting it colleted soon and should have it back in time for FIFA...

I won't be making comments like that one a month ago in the future!

So the 250 model might solve the issue i guess....

Uncharted looks promising though. Still gotta decide in a few weeks, it is gonna be my birthday present for myself.

a 60gig HDD does the job that gets you 6 games on it, then when your have finished one or sold it or whatever you just get rid of it off the HDD

Hi guys, my first 360 just RROD'd, what do I do? I've gone to the website and filled out the RROD form, printed out the label, removed my HD and faceplate, and taken pictures of it. Anything else I need to do before I ship it? How long will it take?
