Don't want to start a thread just to ask this so I stuck it here, is Race Pro any good does anyone have it, and can you have 2 player split screen with a full race grid...
I've got it and.... well, its 'ok'. Does a lot right and a lot wrong.
Hardcore racing fans seem to think the physics are superb with all the assists off and it does give a pretty good feeling of racing.
The graphics aren't particularly amazing though, but that never really bothers me. I likened (driving the F3 cars) to the old Grand Prix 3 game. Its that kind of feeling to me - which is no bad thing as I love that game.
The front end is pretty bland though, usual dull 'career' mode and arcade options.
Track selections are nice and varied and good to see Laguna and Brands in there.
Online is shite - BUT, meant to be fixed in a patch (finally rumoured for today/tomorrow).
Think you will be disappointed with the local MP too as its 'hotseat' only. Again, like the old GP3, you drive for a certain amount of time, then the AI takes over your car and you pass the controller to the second player (I think you can actually have 16 players this way).
I always found it fun in GP3, but I'm old and withered, so have fond memories of all things nostalgic!
Would I recommend you buy it? Tough one, gameplay wise it sits somewhere between PGR3 and Forza2 - a disappointment from hardcore sim makers Simbin - its a fun enough racer for sure and there is plenty to be taken from it.
If you can pick it up around £20 then its probably worth it.
