Ah yea, I realised that after - was Viva La Vida by Coldplay - forgot it was DLC.

How you finding Lips? I'm loving the Leaderboards for these sort of games, even if I'm gradually getting worse!

I didn't know Viva La Vida was DLC, don't have any points left now :( Bought a LOAD of DLC when I got it as well!

I think Lips and SingStar share the spoils really. In a way I find the singing on SingStar easier the way it displays the lyrics, but I find myself liking Lips' layout a bit more I think.

I really like Lips' online leaderboards, but then when I have a group of people over, the SingStar method of having individual profiles works MUCH better for parties (isn't that what Lips is aimed at?).

What's with the galaxy/rock/planet rating on Lips as well? It's awful! And the medals are a bit rubbish as well. You don't notice you've got them because a tiny message pops up, plus the game doesn't make a big deal out of the medals as much as it does the stars.

I think both games do a lot right, and do a lot wrong as well. Definately worth having both games though, and I'm sure Lips will be patched up to have local leaderboards like SingStar will have online leaderboards soon as well. Good stuff :)

Next time I put Lips on, I'll make a note of what DLC I have as well.

EDIT: Lips DLC I have:

Ne-Yo - Closer
Bobby Brown - Every Little Step
Alicia Keys - Fallin'
Boyz II Men - I'll Make Love To You
Coldplay - In My Place
The Rasmus - In The Shadows
Earth, Wind and Fire - Let's Groove
Jet - Look What You've Done
Paulo Nutini - New Shoes
Jason Mraz - The Remedy (I Won't Worry)
Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning
A-Ha - Take On Me
Boyz II Men - Water Runs Dry
Righteous Brothers - You've Lost That Loving Feeling

Yea, good post. I find myself more likely to play Lips for longer. Singstar is a bit flat at the moment as apart from the local leaderboards (which are now full of 'Paul') there is nothing to really play for - but the DLC is very good.

Lips is more 'exciting' and well presented with more to aim for. I like the playlist idea and obviously the leaderboards, plus achievements and the fact you can play your own music (though I'm still yet to try).

Sure SS will be more exciting after the next couple of weeks of patches.

As for DLC, think I have;

Incubus - Wish you were here
Fallout Boy - Thanks fr the MMrs and Sugar, We're going down
Coldplay - Viva La Vida & Yellow (might be on disk?)
Creedance Clearwater - Bad moon rising
Aha - Take on me.

Couple of others i think too...

Reasonable selection up there. Shame I've got a lot of Coldplay on SS as I'd have got the newly released pack - but the recent screenshot of SS's updates shows a screen with Coldplay displayed and "18 songs" next to it, suggesting a big Coldplay pack is due shortly...

I imported Billie Jean and Man In The Mirror, it does what it says on the tin really. It plays the songs through the game, doesn't give you lyrics, but it scores you somehow. Personally I find it a bit pointless but my girlfriend enjoyed it and used the laptop to display lyrics instead

Thats cool - I know some people were asking if the lyric files could be imported too, but I guess thats too much of an ask.

I guess the scoring is pretty irrelevent, but fun if you have a party!

Anyone know of a site that does live subs for £25-30 and are instant delivery?

This from Major Nelsons blog

Hey guys, there have been a stories recently about the E74 error message that I wanted to address. The team is aware that a very small percentage of our Xbox 360 customers have reported receiving an error that displays E74 on their screen and after investigating the issue, we have determined that the E74 error message can indicate the general hardware failure that is associated with three flashing red lights error on the console. As such, we will be covering any repairs due to the E74 error message under the three year warranty we announced related to the three flashing lights error, as well as reimbursing any customers that have already paid for an E74 related repair. This applies to new consoles for the original retail purchaser, whether purchased before or after this change. You can read additional information on the warranty extension on the Xbox.com support site. Today’s announcement reaffirms our commitment to customers that we stand behind our products and deliver a great Xbox experience.

Thanks and I look forward to reading your comments on this issue.

It also reaffirms that the console isn't as reliable as it should be :D

Absolutely no need at all to buy one of those, just strip the Xbox HDD down, remove the HDD and connect it to your PC with standard SATA and SATA power connectors. Yes you invalidate the warranty on your Xbox HDD but at the end of the day if it dies all you do is buy another cheap Samsung drive, configure it as a 360 compatible drive and then use it with your Xbox, better yet is to replace with a drive of 120gb for much less than you'd pay for the official 360 120gb drive.

All you need to buy are 2 Torx screwdrivers, a T6 and a T10 being the two sizes required.
Thanks :DD.

No, but I am going to open up my hard drive to connect it to computer to back it up plus put the UFC demo on it. Placebo kindly linked me to his post so I thanked him.

LOL no worries, does my ego good to be thanked for something from about 11 months ago :)

It is a great thing to get sussed though, not least as a way to back up your profiles/saves, copied to the PC they don't take much space but there's no way to make backups on the 360 as the memory card takes ownership for example. I have two 360's, one works online, the other doesn't and they both have HDD's with the same saves/profiles on them, just the live one obviously has more friends and points and such.

I am after a decent role playing game for 360 at the mo having completed Fallout3.

Anyone know of a decent one in a Final Fantasy style?

I take it you've played Oblivion?

Blue Dragon (you can get it for £5 these days), Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey are worth checking out. Mass Effect is superb too.

Microsoft has said that Xbox Live Primetime quiz game 1 vs. 100 will be free to everyone with an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Based on the TV show of the same name, 1 vs. 100 pits a single player against a mob of opponents, and the object is for "the one" to get enough answers correct to outlast the others, who are eliminated and therefore thinned out somewhat if they get their answers wrong.

Players will be represented by Avatars, and according to IGN there are real prizes to be won, including Xbox Live Arcade games and Microsoft Points.

1 vs. 100 is due out this spring for Xbox 360.

Jay in informative post shocker

Oh and I have played and completed Fable 2 Paul, cheers anyway

A new demo for Battlestations: Pacific is due to pop up on Xbox Live today.

It'll include a mission from the US campaign titled Divine Winds of Leyte. When a Kamikaze attack is launched on a carrier fleet, it's your job to save the day and find out why Kamikaze pilots wear helmets anyway.

There are also two multiplayer adventures to try out - Island Capture and Siege. You can play them offline in Skirmish mode, a new feature that lets you tackle multiplayer maps in single-player against an AI enemy.

The full game is out on 15th May for PC and Xbox 360. It'll feature a Japanese campaign too, 28 missions and more than 100 air, sea and undersea units. There are also five new multiplayer modes for up to eight players.
