Microsoft Xbox 360

Can anyone approximate a pre-owned price in the UK for 360s? From stores and also from private sellers? Also anyone planning to visit Sweden any time soon and want to do a deal to sell a 2nd hand 360? Not much 2nd hand trade over here and I need one :)

I'd say guessing around 110 for the Core/ Arcade maybe less seeing its only 160 new now, 150 for a Premium and 180-190 for an Elite, but getting postage to Sweden would prob sting you.

Yeah that's why I was hoping someone might be coming here for a vacation or something ;)

2nd hand Premiums are going for about £200 and Cores for about £180, seems that there's little 2nd hand market in Sweden so not many bargains around, but then with the prices in Sweden there are few bargains in anything ;)

Well bought a pre-owned Premium today for 1995kr (£170) from EB Games/GameStop, recovered my gamertag that I had in Singapore and it has carried over my gold status which is nice, so have that until October :)

Surprisingly there's no warranty sticker on the back of this 360 that I can see, very weird, unless they moved them somewhere I don't know about......

Unclip the faceplate on the front (it's stiff but it comes off eventually). Underneath that there should be a warranty sticker preventing the innards from being opened.

Thanks, hope to be up and running with Euro, Fifa and GTA pretty soon, as I'm now in Eurolandia I might look to play some matches against you guys :)

Yeah definately mate. Should be lag free . I'll give you a game on FIFA sometime.

Sadly my building is too old for the 10mb upload right now but hopefully they'll upgrade in the next month or two, for now I'm stuck on 24mb/1mb :)

Haven't played Euro yet but TBH I still think I'll enjoy more playing Fifa08 with the updated roster, I'm one of those few people who still enjoy manager mode against the AI ;)

Need some advice. I had a load of XBL Arcade games downloaded on my profile but when I sold my 360, I deleted my profile. Now the guy who bought it wants my Gamertag details so he can access the full versions of the games but I've got my bank details stored on my Gamertag.

Is there a way of editing my Gamertag to take off my bank details? Ideally I don't even want him having my GT because I'd need to give him the password to download my details and it's a password I use on other sites.

What do you guys suggest?

i still like manager mode against the ai - i played 15 seasons and then traded it just because i wanted rockband

Online is fine if you have mates who are willing to play a lot - but if their not online a lot then the only way to get a fix it against the AI.

you can play against random-os but i've played a load of games on fifa 08 against humans online and hardly any of them struck me as a huge difference over the ai - could be because im a bugger for possession play and slow ... slow.... SLOW... build ups.

But they never really did anything at least from memory right now... that i would say struck me as 'only a human could do this'

I like other game types online but sport games have never grabbed me online as they usually descend into cheap glitch fests and quitters.

-

Plus the main reason i enjoyed playing the ai on fifa in manager mode is i felt playing gave me more than just fun - i had something to follow, a team to improve and manage and i don't get that online.

If they could give us an online league mode where you can buy and sell players, outbid each other, search for new young talent etc... Then i think i would leave the offline manager modes behind.

i see no reason to

it breaks and you get it back fixed, i aint fussed with that

I'm sure everyone would be just as forgiving if this was their tv or car or heating.

Granted they aren't the same as a console but if we had failures like M$ 360 console anywhere else people wouldn't be defending it and saying its not that bad.

Because a TV, car or boiler are a lot less important (and expensive) than a games console aren't they...

It's still covered by the same warranty for God's sake, if it works then great, if it doesn't you get a replacement within the warranty period. I fail to see the issue.

SIX consoles though? That does take the piss a bit, surely?

Consoles are supposed to be a reliable way of gaming where you put a game in and it plays. Nowadays we've got consoles breaking, patches need downloading, different versions of the same console, mice and keyboard suppport.

Consoles are getting too close to being like PC's where parts fail, upgrades etc. Patches are especially bad because not everyone has internet access and has their 360 connected to their internet to be able to get patches to fix games.

Case being my parents are playing through Condemned 2 and have came to a point where the game freezes and the controls only let you look down and nothing else. Sounds like a bug and they were completely unaware that they should connect to XBL and check for a patch. We shouldn't need to check for patches, developers should stop being so lazy and testers should work harder. As with the people who designed the 360.
