Yeah this is very true. I usually try and play with my friends on ranked matches but you can't always find one another. And because most people tend to to this, if you play by yourself, most games you'll join will have a team full of friends with one of them being the host, then the team your on.

So not only are you playing with a bunch of randoms that you have to try and get to work together - your playing against 4 people who play all the time together, and one of them is host :(
 
I've tried it again today and nobody seems to be playing it like it's supposed to be played. They totally ignore the hotspots and just shoot eachother. I went and stood in the middle of it for five minutes before somebody came and found me - I think most people are just using the mode for its fast respawns more than anything.

But I've decided to keep the game anyway, A) because the guns are more powerful now (no more shooting someone 782 times and them killing you with one shot), and B) because apparently there's four new maps on the way (including one called Subway, which is supposed to be really good).

Yep, when I'm not playing Annex with friends I usually end up with people that either don't understand it or use it as target practice. Why don't people just play Execution/Warzone if all they want to do is kill each other and not try to actually win?
 
I think people are using this mode to unlock the 10,000 ranked match kills Achievement.
 
You can't do that. The kills you make in Annex don't count towards any achievements. I suppose a lot of people don't know that so they're trying anyway.

I mostly play player matches though (I don't want to waste 10-20 minutes searching for my friends in ranked matches) and people are doing it there as well.

Just tried to play it through the VGA cable and I get the whole "you can't do this because of something to do with 50hz/60hz" thing, meaning that I've got to connect the 360 via component, meaning the Wii has to get unplugged and replugged every night, which will knacker up the connections eventually.

Why can't you do emulation down a VGA cable?!

JB heres how to fix that issue as I had the same problem with Forza and the error you got. 1. Change the resolution to 640x480. 2. Change it from widescreen to normal screen and the game should work :)

I tried that because I remember seeing it mentioned before but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work any more (perhaps they've patched it or something). Do you have any supported original XBOX games you could pop in and try that trick with again? Who knows, perhaps my 360 is on the blink...

I'm more than helpful lad, but it appears you just seem to be some bitter person who cant take a joke. In the Wii thread you even stated that you were sitting with your head in your hands.....if you buy a new console you should have it fired up straight away and be overwhelmed with happiness.

In other threads you say about you feel a need to have every new thing, but how can you pay for it all, and its a case of saving an enjoying spending your money, or you just say, not this month, maybe next or the one after. But you get the game added to the BC list and it wont play via the VGA and your having a yap about having to pull the things out of the back of the tv and that will wear the contacts out etc, yadda yadda yadda, somehow I reckon you will be jumping to a 1080p Panel soon and that wont matter, and no doubt you will trade your dodgy 360 in for an Elite and you have your HDMI, but will need a splitter cause you will want Resistance etc............ JB as you have said lots of time before, its a forum................

And in most cases of reported posts I get from Evo Web in my mail box are reported by you, some times you are right too, others I reckon your having a moan up......... Use the name, be the name, Jack Bauer sure as hell doesnt fucking moan..........

I know you were joking in the Wii thread but there's no need to be purposefully nasty in this one, just because I asked a question (a genuine one). I don't see why that merits a "shut up with your moaning" post.

Ack, you've made me put a 360 disc in the Wii now!! Ssshhh. :freak:

DJ, I tried that trick again and it's definitely not working with my original Xbox games any more. It either works with Forza and nothing else, or there's been an Xbox update to stop it from working...?

I only try to be a helpful member rather than a spammer *cough*, as I have been for four years, and I get stick for it, but just leave it. I'm over it. You can't please all the people all the time.

Back on-topic, anybody finding themselves playing on the 360 a bit less lately? Looking forward to a new Gears of War or something, Mass Effect can't come out soon enough... I've borrowed Quake for a while to try and give me something to do but it's just not "happening" for me.
 
Loving the 360 but a few things:

1. I keep getting "Cannot Read Disc" errors on UEFA Champs League - does this mean my 360 is on the way out?

2. PGR3 - I cannot get ONE game in any mode online - anybody know why?

3. If I did have to replace 360 at HMV (where I bought it) would they do a swap no questions asked? It's over 12 months old.
 
1. If you can't replace it, rent another copy and see if it's the same maybe. If it is, it's your 360. Otherwise, it's the disc.

2. Because it's 72 years old and nobody wants to play a 72 year old game when they've got Gears Of War. That's why I've got rid of PGR.

3. If it's over 12 months old then they won't replace it unless you get an idiot or you blag it - Noted has said before that when he took his back to PC World (even out of warranty) they just said "okay" and didn't even look in the box. It's worth trying to take it back, just to see if they do the same.
 
Cheers for reply Jack - if my Xbox is shagged what are my options? I am NOT paying a single £ to get it replaced, I have always looked after it.
 
Tough one really! If you know your facts, you could try the Sales of Good Acts on HMV. Under law, they would have to replace/repair it. If you want more info (after using Google first...) then ask :)

To allow mouse and keyboard via PS/2 and PS2 controller. That MrModChip site is selling it for 50 quids! That is a lot of money....
 
Apparently people frown on XFPS as console FPS's already use assisted aiming anyway and XFPS gives an unfair advantage. I dont know and dont care either way as I dont play many FPS games anyway, especially not online :)
 
I want it for the PS2 controller only, for Pro Evo, as it seems I won't get PS3 till next year. I too frown on the people using keyboard/mouse on FPS, unfair esp. online.
 
Jack, I still play Forza and GTA III and Vice City on my 360 using the settings I mentioned....

On another note Champions League Froze last night... am I close to getting the 3 red lights?

DJ - Don't worry mate, it's an issue with the game, Tesco told me last night they had loads coming back for exchange! What is it with electonic goods these days? It wasn't like this in the days of the NES!
 
El Diego, funny you should say that but FIFA 07 used to do the same thing to me on a more regular basis... EA's bug testers must suck ass!
