i see. indeed i heard about man utd debts.
nontheless i read an intersting article on an italian financial newspapers, months ago. it was about the role of football players nowadays. it said that today football stars are also considered as "brands" by their clubs, some sort of a "good image" of the club, the "clean and smiley face of the club".
just take a look at ronaldo (i mean the bald one  ) or ronaldinho. today they're more than football players, they're like "industries". and if u think to it, it's quite interesting how they are called ("R9".... it looks like a new nike model).
then , once a club "used" their "advertising potential", the clubs might even consider to sell them, so they can buy a "new hero", a "new image".
actually this is what manchester did with becks, juve did with zizou, real did with "r9"..... and now it seems that barca is going to do the same thing with ronaldinho (by selling him to milan).
now, if there's any truth in this theory (i'm not sure about it, but it looks quite realistic to me), well man utd just started to "use" c. ronaldo's image, and it would be reasonable for man utd to hold him and take advantage of his "advertising brightness" for still 3 or 4 years.
afterall, he's still so young, and i think that in the next 3 years his value will grow up a lot.
