Manchester United Thread

Yeah, because it's that simple... If he doesn't win fouls it's his own fault for being a known diver.

I like the fact that people in this thread are now looking toward Louis Saha to improve the team. Not too long ago the general opinion was that he was complete shite and should leave the club.

Still think Saha should be sold but right now Rooney needs him to create space for him to work.

Saha is rubbish but at least he runs behind, we dont have that right now.

I think it's more that he'll offer us a second striker, something at the moment we lack. Ronaldo isn't good up there, Rooney's not good alone and Smith/Ole are clearly not quite there.

Richardson is only there cos the squad is so thin in that department, even if we didnt have Roma on tues Giggs cant play 2 full games, hopefully Richardson gets fucked off next season...

Chelsea are better equipped for the run in IMO I just hope our attacking philosophy can get us to the end of the season...

Well I've never said that, and I know alot of supporters who rate him, its just his injury record that has let him down...

If we dont fix up quick we dont deserve to be Champs...
I like this mentality, :) I was really sick so I didn't wake up in time to watch it (ugh, mono), but I was a bit shocked when I saw the score. I'm really pulling for you guys to win the EPL, granted it's fueled partly by my hate for Chelsea, Ballack, and Shevchenko, but Utd. is a great team that's played very well this season :applause: but you guys gotta pull through for a bit longer! Keep attacking, playing with only defending your lead is the wusses way out! Thats why I like watching Utd., they always try and attack :D

But if you guys keep this game up, I foresee some troubles at Old Trafford when Totti the Giallorossi come, from what I remember of the game (:lmao: I'm a bit drugged up right now because of the mono)we played fairly well (and won 2-0! Inter was held at a draw!), you may have a problem on your hands winning the champions league.

Take Fletcher and Richardson out, Saha and Giggs in, put Ronaldo in his natural position, creating danger coming from midfield.

And the refs should whistle fouls on Ronaldo.

I can see why he had to change things today, giggs is starting to tire now...

and ya spot on about Ronaldo, I dont buy that "he's a known diver" bollox, defenders know that the only things that will stop Ronaldo are either himself or a snide/blatant foul...

To be honest the Champs League is the least of our worries at the mo, I dont see us beating Roma on todays performance, and they are even harder to play away from home...

That is true, winning the domestic league would be my highest priority if I were them, but Roma? All we've got is the CL XD (no way we're gonna go up 20 points), for such a well balanced/organized team, we seem to do shite in international play

Any of you noticed how much we missed Vidic today? This would have been his type of match. Rooney's goal straight after half-time should have stood by the way. He was at least a yard and maybe a half onside. But you've got to remember, as long as we keep on winning, we'll win the title! At least the defeat has set us up perfectly to go and win the title at Stamford Bridge.

I like the way El Diego goes MIA when Utd lose :)

What is going on with Van Der Saar?

Do you lot think you are still going to win the title? A few of my Manc friends reckon it's still there for them, I'm not so sure though.

Everton Away & Man City Away are important.

Win all our games until Chelsea & title is ours

It's most definitely there, they still have the point advantage, right? They just need the spirit to win, it's there for them to grab, they just gotta get their act together.

Some of the fouls that weren't called today were really blatant. He might start wondering if life would be easier in the spanish Liga for instance... (and you know it would.)

You'd do very well to keep this lead, the signs have been clearly there in the past three away games. I reckon the chavs are going to win it by two points the jammy bastards.

Alot of people seem to think our supporters we're responsible, all I can say is that look at Roma's track record in this department, not to mention the problems in Italian football in general...

Also United have played in Europe every year for over a decade, our suporters are well known for NOT causing trouble, who do they think we are England supporters...

Considering how bad our hoolie' problem was, visiting fans from european teams get the run of Our city and get treated as guests should...

El Diego wrote:
I totally agree Vann, Italian authorities are a fucking joke - they need to look at their own back yard before blaming the ALWAYS BEHAVED travelling United supporters. Fucking scumbags.

First of all, Vannizzlefashizzal, is a very bad (and stupid, let me tell you) exercise, to associate what happened last week to "italians problems in general".
i often read u english guys blaming other people for generalizing and associating every football fans problem in england with hooligans... and i agree with u, it's very stupid..... but it looks like u do exactly the same thing when it's about italy.

secondary, i don't know what people is saying in germany, france or spain, but i know what people is saying in italy. no one is saying that english supporters are the only responibles, and u can realize it by looking at our newspapers first pages.
...but, of course we saw what english fan did also, so please, El Diego, don't come here telling me that manu fans "always behaved".... i don't care of what they "always did", wednesday they didn't behave at all.

1000 manu supporters came in rome without the ticket........ how do u consider this behaviour?
300 of them, all drunk, looked for a contact whit roma supporters. 8 roma supporters went at the hospital. now u'll tell me "and what about that roman who hitted with a knife an englishman?". of course he was a bastard, but u know, we're supposed to do this kind of things, afterall, we're animals, we're fucking scumbags, like u say..... but u're not. u "always behaved". so u weren't supposed to come in rome without a ticket, u weren't supposed to drink before the match, u weren't supposed to turn around the stadium, looking for the romans gate,to start a battle (that our policemen fortunately settled down), u weren't supposed to react to our fucking scumbags supporters (who were throwing lighters) by dismantling a fence, well by trying to dismantle a fence, fortunately u didn't, as our policemen stopped u in time.

We should look at our own back yard before blaming your supporters, i agree with u, el diego.......
but let me tell u, u should do the same
, looking at your "always behaving" supporters, before blaming our police....
our policemen never had any problems with guests supporters (they had problems just with our ultras)...we too "played in Europe every year for over a decade" (milan, inter, juve, roma, lazio) but what happened wednesday between your supporters and our police, never happened before, doesn't this suggest u anything?

...... and please, dont talk me about that poor 50 yrs old man beated by the police, because yesterday i saw that man giving a kick into a policeman stomach, just 2 minutes before (i guess english tv didn't show it , am i right? .....exactly as the images of manu "behaving" fans trying to attack roma supporters outside the stadium, u didn't see those images, is it true? )

..... and anyway there were more than 5000 english supporters at the stadium wednesday, do u think they were all "poor innocents 50 years old men"?

what happened this week was a shame. but let's be honest, it was a shame for both of us. yours actions were a shame, exactly as our reactions.

sorry guys, for still bothering u with this subject, but those 2 posts really deserved an answer.

now, gettin' back to football.... just saw potrsmouth's goals. taylor's goal was very similar to vucinic's goal, don't u think?

What the hell are you on about? It's called 'having a life' my friend, it was way too nice to be sitting in at the PC yesterday - you should try it! I was at a beach in Swansea until late last night.

Anyway, back on-topic I had a bad feeling about Portsmouth yesterday, I knew we'd lose. I wish everyone would stop trying to find a player to blame - Van Der Saar has been superb this season.

Time to move on and look forward not back! :)

ferdinand's goal was as funny as the cole/essien own goal few months ago lol

But your comments have mostly been in the other teams' threads. Doing a mourinho and deflecting attention ;)

Chelsea will lose at least one of their remaining games, they have some hard ones.

Though it could really come down to goal difference. :|

Yeah was looking at the run in and they do have some tough ones coming up:

Newcastle v Chelsea, 13:30
Chelsea v Bolton, 12:45
Arsenal v Chelsea, 16:00
Chelsea v Man Utd, 20:00
Chelsea v Everton, 15:00

Man Utd v Sheff Utd, 20:00

Chelsea v Man Utd, 20:00
Man Utd v West Ham, 15:00

Think it will be decided in the mancity-manu / arse-chel and the chel - manu games.

Although it could be blackburn all over again, the championship is lost against west ham and won on merseyside (blackburn lost to liverpool and manu could only draw at west ham)

Just wanted to prove a point that you would react how you did, I was spot on!

And it was quiet clear Van Der Saar was to blame, what is this new "Punch out" technique?

Champions League will play a big part in the outcome too. If Chelsea make the final, what will have higher priority? For us its obviously the league but no one's sure about Chelsea.

Totally agree. I know people want to take positives out of everything but VDS deserves more or less all the blame for yesterday.

He seems to be trying to 'pat' the ball down so he can take all the pace off it and hold it. He should just tip it over the bar. He made a great save from Davis's shot though and I think the fact he's so tall was the only reason he managed to reach that shot from Davis.

Looking at the fixtures again they are surprisingly in balance imo, with every round having a similar opponent against chelsea and manu. Its in the next 2 games (chelsea away/manu home) were manu could make a gap again. After that its Uefa/CL contenders, local rivals, each other and finally relegation/cl contenders.

Dont know what chelsea will focus on tbh, mourinho definitly wants the CL, but after wednesday that could be over.
Think he might push for the league instead just to get one over manu. Otherwise chelsea are gonna have a tough few fixtures coming up having to probably play liverpool if they do get through.

Either way the season is finally getting interesting! (liverpool aiming for cl, the league closing up, everton/bolton trying to catch arsenal, westham/charlton putting a decent run together for relegation)

Chelsea will grind out a win against manu, it's the Everton and City away games that'll decide if your champions because no matter how hard Chelsea's run-in is you know they have the resilience (luck) to win all their remaining games. Either way it's an interesting change from the previous two seasons similar to the Bundesliga and La Liga with both Barca and Bayern not having it their own way like Chelsea.

Mourinho on Ferguson complaining about Chelsea controlling fixtures...

"I was not surprised he complained about this fixture because he is intelligent and maybe he thinks the other people are stupid.

"Being intelligent is a great quality. Intelligent people are one step ahead of other people. But when you think other people are stupid, it is not so intelligent.

"He is an intelligent man, a successful man with a great career. You cannot be a great manager if you are not intelligent. The time I spend with him I always enjoy so much because he is intelligent.

"I accept what he said as an intelligent quote from an intelligent person, forgetting other people are not stupid and only can laugh about it."

"We did our job. This is the only time we have had the chance to play before United and that is because we control the fixtures?

"Imagine if we didn't control them? But because we control the fixtures we had the incredible chance to close the gap. We didn't fail, we did our job.
 So Jose has come to the conclusion that slur alex is intelligent!

Also worth noting that United may lose the premiership and still have more points than any other team in history. After having just added Carrick during the offesason, surely someone can start mentioing that Fergie is actually a pretty good manager? I mean to compete with the team Chelsea have and their style is a pretty massive achievement I would have thought.
