Look at Rooney right now...

Rooney will get back to his best. He is just experiencing a bad period, every player goes through it in some stage in their career and usually bounce back. Football and life in general has its highs and lows. Form/emotion are transient, where class and character are not such fragile attributes.

If we can pull off a swoop for both Hargreaves and Nani in january, then that would be stenghten the depth in midfield since we desperatly need a DM and another winger. But I wouldnt hold my breath since Bayern will probably hold out against a bid from Utd, while Nani will probably get kidnapped and sign for chelsea after agreeing terms with Utd. Come to think of it, where is Obi mikel? I have not seen him play once for chelsea in the premiership.

Obi played one time only for the moment(in the starting eleven) it was against l.sofia and was great

1-0 to wigan. We looked toothless in the first half and we are being exposed for the lack of depth in the wide areas of the pitch. And Oshite is playing in the centre of midfield... when is Fergie going to learn! we look nothing more than an average team.

rooney was great today, it was the rooney of old. He worked his socks off, just pity he didnt score. Giggs the wizard was as good as ever. We looked a totally different team from the one in the first half. Good substutition to at half time changed everything.

I would love to see rooney and Fergie beat the shit out of Steve Bennet, he annoys me so much, must be the worst referree in the prem as he loves booking players. He must have a secret vendetta against United or something. I remember he gave Ronaldo a straight red against Man City though it wasnt worthy of it.

Looks like it didnt take him that long. ;)

Missed the game cuz I was at work. Hopefully MOTD has a good coverage.
How did Ronaldo do, Alucard?

Ronaldo didnt play. Dont know why as i missed the first 20 mins. A lethargic first half performance but once Giggs came on in the 2nd half and we reverted back to a 4-4-2 we were superb.

Ronaldo didnt recover from the injury he picked up in the portugal game with a bruised ankle. Nothing serious though, he should be back for the next game. We need to scrap experimenting with this 4-3-3/4-5-1 bullcrap. It just doesnt suit our players as was the case in the first half. I got to admit O'Shite didnt do too badly when moved back into his proper position at right back in the second half.

Just got to hope now Reading do some justice against chelsea and play how they did against us.

it would be great to get Nani if he's good enough. Him and Ronaldo would be like Giggs and Kanchelskis again. Fast as fuck.

He is. I think he might not be as technically gifted as Ronaldo, but he seems like a more intelligent player to me. Think he can become a better passer than Ronaldo. My 2 cents. :)

Rooney was definitely back on form, had some gorgeous interplay. His bring down and touch to Ole towards the end was sublime, ole has to score, was almost as bad as his first miss against charlton.

Our problem at the moment is definitely depth. With Giggs, Scholes, Rooney and Saha on the field, we look great, but as soon as 1 goes off it appears we're in trouble. Nice to grab a win without ronnie, obviously like to see him back soon.

Evra is getting better each game, ahd some great tackles. As long as we're not playing someone with great height on the right, I think he'll do just fine. Vidic is a monster, good to see him grab a goal. Oh and Carrick actually looked pretty good today. Overall a great game, thank god for th second half!

Giggs and 442 was the key today, as indicated by the complete change after half time. Ronney looked much, much better today, but he still needs a goal to be happy with. Saha now has his 20th goal in 26 games? shame he was useless with other chances, and staying offside. Evra was one of my favourite players today and it was justice that Ole continues to score. I think Baines' goal was just a blip in all honesty, a great blip, but a blip nonetheless, because apart from little periods of the game, we maintained possesion.

We never really settled down in the first half and that Baines goal only made the players stutter more.Sir Alex rectified the problem and subbed O'Shea and Giggs. This proves to be the masterclass move.Scholes and Carrick ticked in midfield allowing Giggys to roam free behind Rooney and Saha.I am always a fan of headed goals from corners, moreover its a first for Nemanja Vidic! Powerful-towering-get-in-there type of header.Always pleased to see Solskjaer score, the legend is our top scorers now! Bring on them scousers!!

I would be devastated if we didn't beat the scousers. The Wigan was one of the types of games we wouldn't have won last year (regardless of the fact that we did win against Wigan last year). And we came back and play some magnificent football in the second half. Carrick showed why he is a United player with his passing ability and he and Scholes look to have a nice partnership going. But it would be typical if we didn't beat Liverpool

Can someone please take Louis Saha and our 3 keepers out, and for the rest of the week teach him to score when he's one on one. Make him sit ala clockwork orange watching video of Henry. He's had at least 10 one on ones this year already, and has only made one. It baffles me. Smiths miss was worse.

Rooney is class, simple. If not for their keeper having an absolute screamer, United would have had a dozen.

Good stuff.

@run Edge sorry for the off topic but your Signature is spot on !!:applause: couldn't be agree more and i won't buy this crap/Same pes 6 and i will not give one single Euro for this shit!!
anyway well done for tonight!;)

I agree with everything you've typed there

Anybody noticed how much ITV were sucking rooney dry before the match lasntnight? If I didnt know any better I would have tought it was one guy named Rooney against a team called FC Copenhagen. They asked every question under the sun about rooney. The intro involved just Rooney in it with voice over hyping him up. I didnt even think they were going to get to show the squad line ups. 'Is rooney back to his best was the first crap they asked, followed by in depth analysis if the match suited Rooney to get back to his best and score. Funny they also claimed so much pressure was placed on 'this young boy's shoulders' yet ITV are doing a feature length documentary before the game on him. Suprised they didnt find out if he got enough sleep and what he had for breakfast. You could even see pictures of Rooney and Ferguson on the wall in the background of the ITV set.

Anyhow enough on my rant about that, it was good to see Smith and his angry face back. His miss was worse but we have to give the guy time. He has come back from a very serious injury and long layoff. He defintely needs games. I've been hearing alot from Utd fans doubting whether he is Utd quality. I dont tihnk he has been given a fair chance up front to be honest. When he first joined us and we had a injury crisis up front and he was the only striker available, he scored 5 goals in 4 games I think and played out of his socks. So there is no doubting his ability, he just needs to be given a fair chance up front not in midfield out of position where so many have judged him.

think ya being harsh there fella, every striker misses one on ones, Henry doesnt score every chance he gets. Plus the keeper had the game of on another night he may have bagged a brace easily.

Saha isnt as clinical as Ruud but he makes up for it for his athletic ability, the game against wigan is perfect example, he scored the most difficult chance he had.

As for smith missing well i'll give him a squeeze on that cos he's lacking match sharpness.....

I guess so, but there have just been so many times this season Saha has been through on goal, and just needed to chip/round/shoot on goal...i dunno, he's still class and we're still working well with him, just would like him to keep his confidance up by not missing those!

I'm really worried about Sunday. If SAF plays Gaby and Gary, neither has had all that much of a season so far, and I worry about them needing matches before they're back to their best. Plus I fear we're going to employ a 5 man midfield to counter pool, and the whole game is just going to be stifled like our first meeting last year (keano's last...sigh). I predict we get a few early chances, with Ronaldo spurning a golden one, and then losing late on - exactly like the Arsenal match. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong, but I just feel that Liverpool have their backs against the wall a bit, and this is their one real chance to turn the season around.

First off - Dont worry Liverpool are yet to win and yet to score from open play in an away game this season so there is a lot of pressure on them not United.

Also dont worry about Gary if he is on the first XI team sheet he'll be the most up for it in a United shirt!. As for Heinze, I didnt think id be saying this but if I was Fergie I would make him fight for his place in the team back, Evra would be my pick, hes been terrific so far this season. As for the 5 in midfield I doubt this will happen, Ronaldo will be back and hopefully Giggs will be back so hopefully 4-4-2 can be used.

Smith recently said they're gonna turn up the pace of the game so that Liverpool cant get into their passing rhythm. So I'm guessing we'll go 4-4-2 and just wipe them out before they even get started, atleast that'll be the plan.

If we play 4-4-2 I'm confident we will beat them scumbags with saha scoring. It will be good to see ronaldo and giggs both start together. If we play 4-3-3 with O'shite in midfield then I think we'll be asking to get spanked like we did against Arseholes.

You mean the great Arsenal FC. Personally i think Liverpool will win tomorrow and im gonna be brave and predict.

ManU 1 - 2 Liverpool.
Rooney - Bellamy, Crouch

Mastermind,if you lot won the Champions League last season, maybe then you could associate "Great" with Arsenal.\\:o/ We will win tomorrow. It has always been close between these two clubs and I'm predicting a 1 nil victory to us.

Have you noticed that all Liverpool's games have been early kick offs? Apparently, it's a government directive to get the lazy bastards out of their pits when it isn't signing on or giro day.
