Manchester United Thread

Less than convincing win, but a win nonetheless. Saha needs to learn how to score 1 on 1. That's 2 in 2 games when he should have finished the match off. Ronaldo looked disintersted for the first time this season. Was reminiscent of last year, hopefully we can turn it around!
 
Firstly its 4 out of 4 which is surprisingly a first for us.Secondly we did switched off during parts of the game and the only explaination would be due to the lag from the midweek internationals.This should be more than a one goal game but players from both sides cant seem to convert apart from the marvellous Ryan Giggs.I'm quite happy with Carrick's performance,just what I had expected but I hope to see more.Bring on the hoops next wednesday! Cheers!
 
We've got Arsenal after Celtic which will be our first big test. If we win that, the least I'm expecting is another 3 league wins until we play Liverpool.
Luckily for us, Rooney is back for the game.
 
Saha was shocking yesterday. I reckon all of you guys wouldve been cursing him if spurs equalised.

Makes you think even more if Fergie shouldve let van Nistlerooy go, especially seeing as he scored a hat-trick for Madrid today, even though he missed a pen :shock:

So what even if Ruud scores a double hattrick for Madrid? Hes been sold and by the look of things,we dont need him.His attitude is getting too big for the team and hes not even the best player in the first 11 anymore.Bustups in training,grown too lazy and his passion is not there anymore too.He did good and his record with us is phenomenal.Cant see him repeating the same performance again for Madrid to be honest.
 
Screw the Ruud thing! Now we got to keep our heads down n try to Maintain this magnificent run. Just wait for Rooney, Scholes and Heinze to return! i just feel we should be happy with wat we have now and stop bringing up stuff about the players that we have missed. You cannot always get wat you want.
 
Good luck to Ruud, I hope he scores even more goals with Madrid, he's one of my favorite strikers ever. But we do not 'need' him, we have players who can score loads, and with the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo improving their game constantly we can expect them to score too. It's still early in the season but we already scored 11 goals, and that's with Scholes and Roon's bans.

All power to Ruud, he's still a clinical finisher and I'm sure he'll find some of hte smaller spanish team defences a fair bit different from the rather brutish english style. He should do well there, though his hat trick was against 9 men and not exactly a masterful side. Like he himself said, he just needed a change.

Saha proved on Saturday that he's still not quite the 20+ machine that fergie wants to believe he is. He had ample opportunity to finsih up the match, but failed to deliver. Slightly worrying, because as good as Rooney is, he's not particularly good at converting chances either - so games where there are only 2/3 real efforts on goal might cause us problems.

Celtic on Wednesday - I'm expecting a thumping of the Scots. You know everyone is just itching to redeem last years terrible performance, and Fergie'll have em up for it too. Only way I see us having a problem is some superhuman goalkeeping ala brad friedel everytime we play blackburn - but should be fine!
 
Bit worried about our midfield against Graveson. We should be ok I think. Just hope he doesn't kick shit out of Giggs.

Arsenal game coming. We NEED to win this. Not just to fuck up a competitor for the top 4 but to give Chelsea something to think about too. If they're playing catch up and need to win games they'll have to take more chances and turn maybe draws into wind. The last two seasons, they've just been able to play their stifling game with no pressure.
 
I was pleased for Ruud last nite, it was a decent performance against a 9 man levante.

Cant wait for Wednesday! Not cos we're playing celtic just cos its The Cl and cos we get Scholsey and Rooney back fresh and ready for action, and surely we cant get any worse than last year....

Pretty poor performance on saturday but tbh im not arsed, I remember last years woeful draw against siddy straight after the international break so three points was good enuff for me...

Carrick looked okay, few decent passes and interceptions, be interesting to see how he looks against celtics CMF.

Thats exactly why I'm not bothered about losing Ruud. I think its for the best cuz in the past, it was all about building a system that involved getting the ball to Ruud. How we have a system that gives everyone a free role which is working wonders for players like Giggs and Ronaldo, and its gonna be perfect once Rooney and Scholes come back.
 
Celtic in Midweek should be interesting, then we have them Emirates Losers at Old Trafford... Should be an easy 3 points :) lol

we've had some decent results v arsenal recently but an easy 3 points, I dont think so dude....

its not about that for me, had Ruud wanted to stay he would have stayed but the fact is he kept asking to leave, i was happy for him last nite cos he was a fans favourites and his first three seasons with us he was incredible....
 
Players like Rosicky and Baptista could be a serious threat once they settle into their side so I think its good that we're playing them early on in the season.
Our team is pretty much the same as last season meaning we'll have a better understanding between our players which should be the key to our victory.
 
I just think the timing of the fixture suits us. At your best, you could potentially murder us on the pitch. But our teams confidence is much higher at the moment after the way our last few games have gone compared to yours.

yeah but the cl games could effect that, any team with players like arsenal cant be written off pal, scholsey and rooney coming back will be a big bonus for us so will the fact that Ronaldo will be rested against celtic...

but still you never know.
 
Also keep in mind how our defense got off easy last two games, we could have easily conceded equalizers.
