Manchester United Thread

Its just as likely that it is real madrid doing this just to stop chelsea, n united and arsenal gettin them to help them win the champs league, very unrealistic, but equally as chelsea.

:lmao:

There was a rumor that Real wanted to have mascherano but MSI didn't want to give the player to Real.

In madrid people said that the only team that will be able to buy mascherano and tevez will be chelsea because of him being close with MSI.

HAHAHA! i cannot believe all this bollocks!

There is absolutely no proof that this has anything to do with abramovich? I think it's pretty sad that something like this happens and all of a sudden man u and arsenal(not so much) are crying like little babies and need someone to blame! oh lets go back to ol' faithful, the rich one that no-one likes. pathetic.

One last thing to say..... GO ON THE IRONS!

Erm, MSI is owned by 2 Russian Oil tycoons, who are known to be friends with him. There was an article on them as they took over Corinthians about the same time as the Chelsea takeover.
West Ham simply couldn't afford to buy one, let alone both of these players. Why do you think all aspects of the transfers are confidential?
For a transfer fee like this to not be revealed surely means that something is fishy about it...

Fair play and good luck to West Ham for getting them though :applause:

thats why i think you would come into my house and watch me while im sleeping, you really want someone to die over this?

You can't take everything I say too seriously or my avatars. I'm just pissed off today.

Our midfield is seriously a joke. Im just waiting for one of Fergie's speeches to say are squad is very well covered to top off the day. He'll 'say in his scottish accent ''Well we got some fantastics youngsters coming through, so I don't think we really needed to add to the squad. Obviously Hargreaves would have been a bonus, but you cant dwell on these things. With players coming up like young fletcher and O'shea, Both young lads provide a fantastic option for us in central midfield. If eeveryone stays fit and we can avoid injuries in the early part of the season we have a good chance this year''

If we bloody signed Mascherano and tevez then we would have had a good fucking chance. We are not going to avoid injuries or suspensions dammit how many people are already injured now. Vidic,Rio,Hienze.. the list goes on, I dont fucking know what they do in training.. Our squad would have been complete if we signed Masc and Tevez. But NOOOO!!!
I can't get it out of my head. John O'Shea... Javier Mascherano... Darren Fletcher... Javier Mascherano... John O'Shea... Kieran Richardson... Javier Mascherano... Kieran Richardson... Darren Fletcher... Javier F**KING MASCHERANO! AAAAAaaaaaaaagggggghh!

Then I compare Smith and Solskjaer to Tevez and I want to bang my head against the wall in despair.

I'm just glad the two players went to West Ham and not Chelsea or Arsenal. We're making too much of a deal out of this. Transfers arent as easy as paying the money and bringing in the player. If the whole deal with MSI wanting to buy West Ham is true then dont you think it was more or less impossible for us to get our hands on Tevez and Mascherano? I'd be more pissed off if we actually had a chance to sign the players but we f*cked up and missed out like the Ronaldinho deal.

Our squad is definately good enough to last till atleast January and I know I'd prefer to see Tevez and Mascherano in action more regularily before signing them.

Thats no excuse. Those players including Hargreaves, Senna were available all summer, through june, july and august. We pranced around all summer doing jack diddly until the last month and ping all our hope on signing hargreaves while letting masc and Tevez get pipped under our noses. I am sick of Uniteds tranfer policy and their fucking good for nothing scouts. We were promised too World class midfielders and told they had identified these targets before the season was over by Mr Gill. Yet we end up with goalkeeper we dont need and a overpriced Carrick who we realise isnt go to be a very combative defensive midfielder we need.

Okay sure we got a good start to the season and we're playing well beating Fulham, Charlton and Watford. But could you say 100% that our midfield (in general, not first choice 4 alone) can match Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona, Madrid? Could we for example, take a midfield containing John O'Shea and Darren Fletcher to the Bernabeau(when champions league comes calling? or Stamford Bridge? This is the benchmark that United should be testing itself. Do we honestly have the quality strength in depth that the very top sides do? We have for the past 10 or so years, had a team/squad that was equal to anything anywhere else - or first eleven could be backed up by talent in each position. Hell we won three trophies in a year for heaven's sake.

The Manchester United mentality that "only the very best will do" that I have seen and cherished for these years is eroding, now it seems to be that we are trying to do cut price wheeling dealing like a midtable side and not being ruthless in getting the cutting edge players we need. Would Darren Fletcher or O'shite get into the 99 squad? Not a chance, and yet now their good enough for United?

The point is, would Chelsea or Liverpool or Arsenal come knocking if we were to sell O'shite or fletcher? I think not, maybe charlton or watford.

There is no way, NO WAY west ham could afford those two players without something fishy going on. Come on, this is a team playing in the championship 2 seasons ago. Maybe its the MSI thing, maybe its a Chelsea thing, but the bottom line is you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out that sometihng is wrong, and hopefully the FA/FIFA will look into it.

I've always really liked west ham as a developper of great young english talent, in fact a good percentage of the current english squad came through them. WTF is this? I can imagine Alan Pardew being forced to swallow this pill.

As for United - well then. Hope the Glazers pay off some debt and smile a bit when we finish 2/3/4 in the league. They have no one to blame but themselves. One signing. 6 out. Biggest club in the world. Midfield of John O'Shea and Darren Fletcher. Erm...

I totally agree with both posts alucard, especially about our transfer policy and scouts. Some people need to be fired for letting this summer turn into such a fiasco, any idiot could see we needed more cover in midfield and yet we fail to bring in anyone else after carrick, while everyone around us are signing players.

It shocks me how incompetent we seem to be when it comes to making transfers.

Very very pi**ed of myself and really not in the mood to have a rant so all i can say is i completely agree with Alucard!

What pisses me off more is the speed that they were signed. Every player we got or tried to get this year was drawn out, even the new reserve goalkeeper. Why can't we just DO the deal?

Expect Mascherano at Chelsea next year when Makelele retires. And maybe Tevez if they offload Drogba. West Ham are now Chelsea's feeder club. It's a good system as Corinthians will snap up all the South American talent and if they're good enough they'll be blooded at West Ham before moving on to Chelsea. As Abramovich is a share holder at MSI, he'll just be transfering money from one account to another. They guy is clever and Chelsea are becoming more ruthless.

I read in today's paper that Tevez & Mascherano have been signed for £1m, both on a one year deal. At the end of the year West Ham would need to pay £30m to keep them.
If you've signed someone on a permanent deal, why would you have to buy them again? Sounds like they've paid £1m to have them on a season loan, but won't be returning to Corinthians when the season ends...

I'm disappointed that we haven't signed anyone, especially as the squad is now smaller than last year.
(Miller, Fortune, McShane, Steele, Rossi (Loan), Eagles (L), Foster (L), Bardsley (L), Pique (L), Howard (L), have gone, and only Carrick & Kuszczak have come in) OK, they won't command first team places, but there's not a lot of cover now...

On the plus side, at least we didn't panic buy (though those we did sign were "very relaxed" buys seeing how long they took).
Hopefully the board will pull their finger (and cheque book) out on 31st Dec...

Lets see if that has turned out to be a stupid mistake come December, if we suddenly arent top of the table and Chelsea are by a distance again then we can blame the stupid transfer policy....

There is not much point in hoping to sign someone in janaury as most decent players will be cup tied from playing in the champions league.

Problem is we've needed a tough-tackling midfielder for years now since Keane started fading out. The problem was identified and should really have been fixed several seasons ago never mind now.
Both Senna and Gravesen were available and wouldnt have cost the world but we decided to look away. Some people would say theyre too old but they could easily give us a good 3 years in which time a youngster could crop up or be scouted.

Maybe, but seeing as we only have 20 first team players (injuries & suspensions not withstanding), we might be a little stretched during the Christmas fixture pile-up...

It's done. Let's be positive. We've started well and have players to come back. Big test against Spurs. Beat them and we can be optimistic I think. I don't see why our young players can't do like arse's did last year.

We've got to be realistic and realize that we're not the most attractive club in England to play for and deal with it. Our youth policy will shine through again soon.

Jesus hasn't this been your best start in years? You'll also have some good youth players that you can rely on to step in which is always good for the club.

 sad when goons come in here to cheer you lots up.listen to mark and be proud even fletcher and alien boy is on the score sheet

Edit: who cares if everyone except watford had 3 new signing yesterday

problem is, we'll still finish in the top 4 'cause the rest are shit. They don't need to make us world beaters to qualify for CL. I wish it was just the champions that qualified so we'd need to challenge more.

I agree we need a kick up the backside to get serious. But you would think the failure to mount a serious challenge to first place in the premiership and get anywhere in the champions league in the last four seasons would act as a wake up call. Every summer you think we would go all out and get the players who would make a difference but yet it always ends in disappointment. Though I still have faith we can get something out of this season, be it the FA cup, champions league or premeirship. But the young players like fletcher, ronaldo and even Jones have to take their chance to make a difference.
