Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Whats interesting is that any new signing will probably be thrown into the starting 16 as soon as he's signed. So whoever it is, they better not expect any time given to adjust.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

If De Jong is as good as a lot of people make out and hes on the cheap, then id like to see a move being made for him.

Vogel or Gravesen would be good additions to the midfield too

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

You're welcome. He is on the cheap indeed, he's available for free in the summer. I can see De Jong ending up at a big club next season and wasting away on the bench for a year, before opting for a midtable team.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

not so fast ninja its nodded up at 1 a piece. freidel terrific penalty stop, reminicent of yesterdays pollit's stop against reyes.

1 more blackburn goal and it will be over.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Professional Manchester United take their place in the final with a weakened side. Thats my boys. Saha's volley was INCREDIBLE!

Decent game to watch, wasn't certain of who'd win and thought Rovers might have just nicked it. United did well though and deserved the win overall IMO.

tat volley was nothing short of a lucky mis-hit tat curled "beautifully" into the top corner.. lol

anyway, regarding vogel, well i nv seen him play but i used to buy him for my master league team. Hes good cmf in the game

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

I'm torn by Hughes' statements. His spiel about Poll liking the limelight is something I've always agreed with, he definitely likes to have his name mentioned after the game.

But wanting a penatly for Rio's handball, that would be incredibly harsh, Rio actually had both hands clasped behind his back to ensure that wouldn't be the case. What else can a defender do?

And how can he really complain? His team created nothing all game, other than kieran richardsons assist. Which showed his age. Once again Friedel is godly against us, though Ruud's penalty was a bit crap, almost exactly the same as scholes' in the FA Cup final.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

V. Nistelrooy thumped his penalty! Fridel judged it superbly and stretched well.

Anyway, as for the midfield talk - anyone heard anything CONCRETE yet, instead of all this Gravesen/De Jong speculation? I don't think De Jong is a good replacement. We need a BIG name, a player who can rise to the occassion.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Ronaldo and Neville charged by UEFA and FA respectively for the finger (should be charged) and the badge kiss (kdding me right?)

I'm curious what;ll happen to hughes, oyu know if fergie said it it would have made front page news...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Jan Venegoor of Hessilink is the most ridiculous name ever.

i think it was a shock to his system, here is a guy who probably had never played before more then 5 to 10 thousand people at once in his life, and he was thrust into liverpool.... i gurantee you that liverpool would have loved ot have him the last three years, top 3 keeper in the prem over that time...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Cant believe G.Neville has been charged. Its ridiculous. Escepcially since robbie fowler did the exact same thing. Its double standards again. The fa are a disgrace and ruining the premier league. Thier rules are shit and they cant stick to them consistently, which leaves bitter taste in everyones mouth. Players cant be passionate without being charged is just messed up.

the biggest name I can think of is Jan Venegoor of Hessilink, but he's a striker

it could have been worse. If he was from Anglesey in Wales, he could have been Jan Venegoor of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

Imagine paying to have that name on your shirt. cost an arm and a leg.

No De Jong for United, he went to HSV.

Good. If he is good for HSV he isn't ready for a giant club like United.

HSV are a great team IMO.

Don't really mind De Jong not coming to United, I guess he would do okay but he's not really the best or a big name like they should be going for.
