I think you may tend to forget when you only experienced it twice ;)

nah Rio is not a DMF, he's not even a CB sometimes....
Thats true but unlike all our other "defensive midfielders" like O'Shea and Smith, Rio is more capable of sitting back and not exposing any gaps like how Keane use to. Plus he could occasionally make a run forward too.

can u just fuck ur way out of man utd thread? u are vv irritating as a liverpool fan... will u just stick to ur beloved thread?

we experienced it in 1999 and we won the treble, u only won 1 cup in dunno how many miserable season...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Oshea is out for six weeks now, sidelined along with smith, park and scholes who is out for the rest of the season.

Aparrently we are going to get two world class midfielders in the summer according to David Gill. Obviously we need someone now, maybe and hoping that SAF goes in for Nigel de Jong. He is pretty cheap since his contract is up in the summer. He can play defensive midfielder or in defense.

Well one of the (many) targets is a genuine "World Class" MF, the other is a "prospect"...

there are quite a few that are being looked at but that the same with most teams....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

I think thats what we are all hoping. We dont want another klberson or worst djemba djemba. The worst players to grace the premiership.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Its a crying shame about Scholsey, the guy is the perfect professional and by far the best AMF in the country for along time now..

The injury is not football related and could end his career...

Fingers crossed he'll be back though....

I cant believe we've lost Keane and Scholsey in the same season....

We will struggle (even with new signings) but to lose two players of that stature, i'll be happy with a top 4 finish...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Wait a minute. So O'Shea AND Smith are out too? So who do we have left other than Fletcher?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

No one. Fletcher is the only CMF on our roster at the moment.

Oops.

That said, I think Smithy will be back soon, though for tomorrow night I have no clue how we'll play. Maybe put Richardson where he was for West Brom, move Rio up to DMF. I personally don't rate giggsy in the middle, bu twould love to be proved wrong...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

For tomorrow I reckon it'll be (from left to right)
richardson (LMF) giggs (C/AMF) fletcher (CMF) ole (RMF)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

I think the most sensible thing to do tomorrow, is put rio in midfield since we already tried him out ther against burton and he excelled. Have giggs next to him. If ronaldo is still suspended put fletcher there and have richardson on the left. And brown and vidic partner in defense.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

i dont tink rio in the middle will be good, brown and vidic may lose their confidence and be shaky

i'll say play with 5 midfielders as we lack the midfield quality with fletcher, richardson, giggs, rooney and jones(maybe ferdinand) in the midfield

actually i tink giggs should be the captain instead of gary, he doesnt push the team IMO

we really need some midfielders now and de jong seems to the candidate

injuries:
Oshea, Scholes, Smith, Park

man, our best 3 midfielders are out

I can't believe the ginger prince is out for the season. Fookin' gutted. :-(

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Funny how the Arsenal thread has gone quiet...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

When was the last time we had a player on loan. Last I can remember was that William Prunier bloke and he only stayed for 3 games.
I don't see why we can't try and get Graveson on loan from Madrid. He's be an ideal replacement for Scholes and he would make our midfield scary again.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Gravesen has again complained about life in Spain. We have no central midfielders. Hang on a second, I think I'm close to getting a good idea, but I just can't quite get it...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

United have made an official approach for Johann Vogel (Milan).

I'm telling you now that this guy has very very good passing skills and is very clean. Hes nothing spectacular, but you can count on him for ball circulation. All his plays are very simple, so he barely ever makes mistakes.

Is he creative at all, or at least is he good at playing the ball forward?? (that alone would be an improvement on the current MF)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Hes not too creative, as he seems to always stay right in the center of the pitch, literally. Hes good at doing his job. I havent seen him move forward much as hes got Rui Costa and Pirlo ahead of him. But he is the captain of Switzerland, who arent a bad team at all.

hhhmm sounds promising, he'd have alot more responsibility at OT now the MF is so depleted.....

Cheers milanista...

sounds like United have asked can they have the player (not sure if a loan deal or an outright purchase)

Do you reckon will they let him go??
