Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

well that game was fairly easy, Richardson gets better and better every game, I know he wasn't against brilliant opposition today, but he was good, Vidic looked solid but he wasn't tested. what was our captain doing when he got booked? honestly....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Rio looked good in DMF.He will double up as the 5th defender when he slots in the backline when we are counter attacked. He did exactly that against Wolves.Vidic was exactly the player we expected him to be,no nonsense and uncompromising,a few more games and better communication with his CB partner would make him feel at home.Hats off for Richy on his two goals but he should learn to use the ball better and hold onto possession more to make him complete. He should learn that from Park.I love that guy, brilliant on the ball,a wholesome fighter and never gives up.He was injured before but never looked likewise,MOM for me.3 nil,Rooney and Ruud should have got one each but its all good.Off to the next round.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Yep rio did look good, Fergie said he keep him there for wednesday game. Its good also that brown gets to keep his place, hee has been playing out of his skin recently. SAF says he reminds him of a itallian, argentina defender who takes pride in his defending. Vidic just needs to learn the language and it will be solid at the back, you could see him and brown had abit of trouble knowing where eacher were going.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

yes yes!!!!!

We've got the mickeys in the next round at anfield....

Apart from siddy away that was the game I wanted!!!

Lets hope its a better game than the last 2 league meetings...

better game for who??

We've taken four points of them this season, I've got no complaints...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

I think he means more entertaining wise. Its gonna be tough, especially after we beaten them recently with late goal they be wanting to prove a point and will be riled up for the game even more.

I was thinking about us meeting them in the fa cup the other day and thought about the kind of game it would bring. Their attack is nothing to worry about really, never really had any trouble with any of their forwards in the last couple of seasons. Pools midfield is defintely a worry butif we can hold them out like we did at old trafford then rooney or rvn will come up with the goods in the match. Tough to call but im betting a sweet United victory.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Yeah sorry I wasn't very clear. I am looking at it from a neutral point of view obviously!

I love it when Man Utd play Liverpool, as its such a big game. The 2 games this season have been a disappointment. Hopefully the cup game will good!

I'm just glad to see our only true rivals back where they should be....

It's not the first time that's happened to you in recent years!

the fall from grace is rarely dignified...

I actually remember when you's had a decent side, okay it was only for one season but still it was good while it lasted....

arsenal "invincibles" RIP....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

It seems Vogel's offer was rejected, and Milan are not willing to let him go. Would have liked to see him play more games by moving to United, but hes important cover for Pirlo I guess.

Thats a bit harsh, what about the season when we clinched the title at Old Trafford, surely that counts!

"Have you ever won the league at Highbury? Have you fuck!"

You mean like our European Cup victories?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Ballack rumours abound again. Dammit I want him in United's red. For some reason I think he and Ruud would just really hit it off and become the leaders of the team.

But why would he leave in january, when his team is actually in the CL? Unless he believes they can't win it, which wouldbe foolish. Plus WC year... the fates just don't seem to be aligning.

Bring back Davie Jones, give him a shot. Or kidnap Mikel...oh wait...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Joey Barton linked.....

Now I was told Joey wasnt happy at siddy the week after the derby, he's also changed agents (which will have alot to do with it) and has said that he's just gonna keep his head down and wait for one of the big clubs to come in for him....

from SKY

'Skysports.com understand Joey Barton has handed in a transfer request at Manchester City following the breakdown of contract negotiations.

The highly-rated midfielder has been discussing a new contract at Eastlands with City boss Stuart Pearce keen to continue tying down his best players to fresh terms.

It is believed that Barton has been disappointed with the level of pay being offered by the City of Manchester outfit.

Sources claim the 23-year-old has made his feelings known by officially handing in a request to move away from the club.

Pearce was confident his midfield terrier would commit his future to the club this week but it seems as though there is much work to be done before a positive conclusion to the talks is reached.

A number of Premiership sides would be interested in signing Barton, who has even been linked in some quarters with a stunning move to Manchester United due to their midfield problems.

Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren is also an admirer of the tenacious Merseysider.

Barton and his representatives are now awaiting a response from City's hierarchy.'

Now I've never been his biggest fan, although I think he's improved this year, but we need a midfielder desperatley, and to get him would be good if only to see the faces of the already bitter siddy fans....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Joey Barton linked.....

i'll say portsmouth will buy him

he can be a temporary Man U midfielder, but after the injuried are back, he will be back at the bench
