I bet that will shut up a few of Rossi's doubters. I see him in reserve games so I've seen that kind of performance before. We havent been hyping him up for nothing.
I remember when he made his debut, it was a few days after Rooney had made his in that 6-2 win against Fenerbahce. Rossi scored that great solo goal and I remember the commentator something like "We talk about Rooney all day saying how much talent he has, well this guy is the same."
Whats nice is that he gives you something different rather than playing exactly like Rooney. If Ruud was playing instead of Saha, we would definately have got another 2-3 more. Some of the little tricks and "bits of magic" that Rossi showed was class. Especially when he did that neat turn and chip to put Saha through who then just messed it up as if he was too busy thinking about what Rossi had just pulled off.
We started off very shakey and that worried me a little bit. But then we kinda threw a lot of men forward and pilled a lot of pressure. Its when you reach this point in your transitional period where you need to stop thinking about buying players and start working on tactics and the mentality cuz you can see from today that on their day, even the fringe players can be pretty good. One of the things that impress me so much about Chelsea is how organised they are. We have people like Ronaldo in our squad who are too lazy to get back and defend and it messes up the shape of the team and exposing holes.
Today showed we can have a very threatening attack at the expense of the defence. Even Rio was joining in more often than not. But that was only because we knew they wont score easily. I;ve heard many players like Gudjohnsen and Robben say that Chelsea are very comfortable throwing people to attack cuz they know their defence is there to pick up the pieces if something goes wrong. We need to build that sort of confidence to be able to pull off performances like this against Premiership sides.
