Is this good enough business to get into a champions league place? It’s certainly not good enough to win the league that’s for sure. Let’s hope for some luck
Depends on how fitness all players they had, especially the injuries. Sadly though, Yoro will be out for at least 3 months due to the injury he picked during the preseason. I think if this squad keeps healthy without notable injuries, they will probably secure at least the Champions League place.

Even that squad isn't good enough to win the Europa League this season. Just like Champions League, it's a completely new format with league phase and more games that will certainly increase the risk of injuries. The ties against Porto, Rangers, and Fenerbahce (with Jose Mourinho as a coach) might be a big tests for this club (and EtH, of course). Failing to win all of those, even against lesser teams such as Bodo/Glimt (they had infamous 6-1 win against Roma not long ago in the Conference League), will surely put EtH's job into jeopardy. And just like Champions League, all teams in Europa League are more balanced. Even Tottenham Hotspurs (another PL club playing in this competition) gets a tougher draw in form of Roma, who were the finalist of this competition two seasons prior. Personally, I want to predict Manchester United to finish Top 4 in Premier League and reach Europa League quarterfinals this season.

I mean we’ve already lost against Brighton and todays match vs Liverpool who will probably be favourites to beat us could potentially give us 2 losses out of 3 games. As far as how we’ve played I’ve not really seen anything massively change from last season. We’ve got to really go at them if we’re going to win today. Anyway not long to go!!

Edit: a continuation of last season. Yet again we crumble. Setting aside the individual mistakes that lead to them scoring their goals… how the f**k does Rashford keep getting chosen to play?! We should have got him out the club in the summer. He’s the highest paid player at the club on a whopping 300k a week. His performances for over a year now are worth about 10k a week and I’m being generous. I’m tired of people talking about him like he’s a young kid that needs time too. He’s 26! That’s almost a seasoned veteran in football terms!
Ten Hag is in his third season at the club and we’re playing exactly the same as when he first started. We’re a weak and undisciplined squad that crumble when the game gets tough. Sir Jim Ratcliffe better be going hell for leather to find a replacement for him because I’ve had enough of Ten Hag and his excuses. Unless a miracle happens we’re going to end up finishing in the same place as last season or worse

No excuses about what happened last night at Old Trafford (that loss against Liverpool). This team were so mediocre, overall. Ten Hag's time seems to be running out. Same old team with LOTS of big issues, on and off the pitch.

The only team that could match the same Manchester United's mediocrity in this season were Everton. This club were nowhere to be found in terms of the success. 3 losses in the first 3 PL games, including that painful one against Bournemouth, where they let Bournemouth scored 3 goals in the last minutes despite being 2-0 up at first. What happened for Everton more recently really followed Manchester United when it replied to club management struggles in the past decade, as they fought against relegation survival three times, including the one where they had points got docked due to the financial troubles.

aaaand he's gone, surprised he lasted that long to be honest

It should have happened when I said it should have happened. I was outraged that he still had his job when we finished 8th last season. Dunno if it was because we couldn’t find someone or that they just gave him another chance but either way his tactics have been a$$ no matter how we look at it. Maybe a new manager will reinvigorate out lacklustre squad. That’s hope though more than anything!

That was a CRAZY match against Lyon..
I watched the first half at a restaurant, and when I checked my phone later, it said 2-0 in favor of United (minute 70)
Who would've thought the INSANITY that would ensue!
Hahah.... Man United always bring the drama :LMAO: :LMAO:
It was great to see Amorim's smile at the end, it's been a frustrating season for you guys for sure..
But this was a match for the ages!

I tuned in around the time Lyon scored their first, i was not expecting 9 goals and the 9th coming in the 121st minute!

That game was absolutely cinema. 9 goals within 120 minutes. Manchester United bottling a 2-0 lead first, then Lyon somehow collapsed after being 4-2 up. At least, Manchester United really did something that Real Madrid had actually not against Arsenal when it comes to "Remontada".

are people looking forward to the next season?
Definitely. Man United's roller coaster has been one of the most interesting stories in football in the past few years.. And the new additions of Mbeumo, Cunha, and Sesko undoubtedly creates a very exciting frontline! Looking forward to seeing how you guys fare in the EPL this season.. Although I think the team definitely still needs a midfielder and a keeper.

Cunha and Mbuemo scored more last season than our entire team. Throw the powerhouse yet skillful Sesko into the mix and it's an attack that's going to be feared. Something we've not had in a long long time.
I haven't really been excited about us for several years but this season I am. Like the pundits have mentioned, if we get a top class midfielder and goalkeeper I think a lot of teams might be a bit worried about playing us, unlike the past few seasons where teams assumed they would beat us (and rightly so)
With the team how it is currently I can't see why we wouldn't be able to get a top 6 finish. If we're able to add Baleba and Donnarumma then that's a top 4 team for me.
We could be braced for an immediate disappointment on day one though since we've got Arsenal. Not ideal at all but I'm quietly confident we can beat them

Doubt you guys can afford Donnarumma's wages, especially given the lack of CL football.

Well a defeat in the opener. Our goalkeeper should have punched it away but he was weak and caused the error. I felt we were the better team today. We deserved at least a draw but that's football. Their goalkeeper got man of the match, says it all really.
Amorim should have played Sesko from the start but I was kind of expecting him to bring him on later instead. We look much more of threat than last season.

@subtra3t We can't afford Casemiro wages but we pay them anyway. If Donnarumma wants to come play for us we will find a way to pay his wages I assure you.

From what i saw Sesko only got 1 pass in 25 minutes?

He had a header opportunity (I say opportunity but it wasn't even a half chance really) So maybe 2 passes. Similar to the service Hojlund used to get ... Hardly any.
I could say the same of Gyokeres today too and many other teams that play the "modern" premier league way.
It's all about creating and shooting from wider areas these days, and as a result centre forwards hardly get any chances during a match. They've literally got to make chances for themselves in the modern game but I believe Sesko has the physical attributes to be able to do that. He's also a very skillful player too for his size so that's going to help him as well. I guess we'll all find out how Sesko is going to be in the coming months but one thing I know for sure is that collectively we looked way more of a threat in this one match than we did all last season. Just unfortunate we got Arsenal in the first match.
I've got some hope this season, I mean it can't be any worse than last season can it lol
