Manchester United Thread

I've not been overly impressed by on field actions, but everything off the pitch has been exactly what we needed. His strength and charisma are kind of all that's required this season. Steady the ship, keep the big personalities at the club, get 4th (?) and then he can retire happily.

But as above, given the attacking talent we have our goal return is shocking.

The problems started with him.

At the end he had now long term plan and the club is still bleeding for it now.

I hope Januzaj can find another club this transfer window. Nice gesture by Fellaini after scoring his winner last weekend.

Man City, Tottenham, Chelsea and Southampton all out of the FA Cup! If we don't really push to win it this year, I don't know when...

Man United were terrible last night but they have been most the season.

Unfortunately Van Gaal will now know that your centre backs are terrible and get in good ones in the summer.

Jones, Evans, fletcher, Anderson and 1 or 2 others won't be at Man Utd next season.

Think we'll keep Jones. Agree, going to be a strange summer. Definitely leaving imo will be:
Anderson (8 YEARS!), Nani, Hernandez, Henriquez, Fletcher, Amos, Falcao and possibly Evans. Would like to see us move RVP on too if I'm honest, he's shown virtually nothing in 18 months now, think he's done.

Even though none are really doing much for us, still a lot of change. Who knows what we'll bring in, but some pace up front and a CB.

Think LVG's system would benefit from a more physical striker than we have. Someone like Saha is better suited to our 'philosophy' then slow technical strikers like RVP.

Utd favourites now

How can we be considered favourites above Arsenal? Craziness.

We'll screw it up. Rooney is like Ferdinand - destined to never win the FA Cup.

Yes, but the football is "better" than under Moyes...

The point is that Van Gaal gets more credit because he is a big name...
And now it also turns out that if Everton were good last season, one can ask what the reason was ? Martinez or Moyes ? Martinez benefitting from the fantastic defensive organisation under Moyes ?

:) dont take offense, I wasn`t having a go at your supported club haha! just merely finding it incredible those stats and the associate (LBM)clubs .

Wow your really living The Dream right now aren't you?

What is it like up there, sat at the Big Boys Table??

I see your team is 2nd in the league, shit that's impressive, I mean, only one team can be 2nd right, I wish I knew what that felt like, my team being 2nd.

Just saying it gives me goosebumps....

And I see your in The Last 16 of The Champions League. Who are you playing in The Champs League??

Barcelona! What "the" Barcelona??

That's impressive dude, no really, wow!

So please pull up pew and educate us, oh wise one.

I, We, value your insight and wisdom. After 5 years of your team's domination matched with an unprecedented success, a trophy haul that has no comparison, we value your insight and observations as we have no experience and or knowledge of these things.....

So in our second season of transition we are still in with a remote shout for silverware and a decent shot at getting back into Europe.

Lo and behold the gobshites turn out and start declaring we were better under moyes, even pull out stats to prove their nonobjective claims.

Better under moyes? better for them it seems.

We must be moving in the right direction.

:CALM: It's just funny that after drawing against Cambridge, suddenly, in the space of a few hours, Utd are favourites for the entire cup.
After all the hullabaloo following that result you don't find it even slightly amusing?

Who says Utd are favourites?

You didnt ask me but I offer that Arsenal are favourites, they are holders, in very good form and won the thing 10 times. I think that puts them up there.

So I take it, that what you find amusing is that that after "The Most Successful Team in England Est 2011" aka Man City and Chelsea get knocked out, some people now think we have a chance at silverware??

We haven't yet determined who is saying this. Who are these people?

But regardless I will concede, not all clubs can be as successful as the one you support you know...

The rest of us are Standing on The Shoulder Of Giants....

Let us Dream.....

Godotelli seems to spend more time in here than his City thread!

Why are you always trying to wind them up? You don't see me in the Spurs thread every day, they don't enter my radar.

Daley Blind is such an intelligent player. Really love watching him play - very good signing, something Utd have been lacking for many years.

BTW I dont think Ferguson would ever sign that kind of player. Could be wrong though.

Mutd wants AVFC to pay for Cleverly £7m. They decline and Mutd wants to loan him out but can't loan a player again in the same season. We call that a bit of a pickle. My question here , Is Cleverly a free agent in the summer?
Mutd looks to make room for a real big player w/ all the deadwood clearing out.

Really? Looks like Van Gaal is getting rid of all the deadwood. Fletcher, Welbeck, Nani, Anderson, Clevereley, Hernandez, Ferdinand etc all arguably should have been shifted out a long time ago. Looks like Man U are seriously building a quality side to compete with the likes of Bayern and Real Madrid in 2-3 years.

Ferguson is to blame for letting the squad get very stale. ManU looked out of depth in Europe for a very long time now, even looked poor when Ferguson last won the league, van Persie goals and fergusons aura getting you the title really.

Man U have lots of money to throw around now and can spend more than most now FFP has properly kicked in.

When you get in a world class CB, RB, a midfielder and maybe a winger ManU will be challenging for everything again.
