Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread,

Besides all this, bringing that point up now when we've overtaken you, comes across as a bit sad.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread,

1. Manchester United - 19
2. Liverpool - 18
3. Arsenal - 13
4. Ryan Giggs -12
5. Paul Scholes - 10
6. Everton - 9

Unbelievable.

So very, very happy.

Was out for a mates birthday drinking all day yesterday, bar packed full with United and City fans and we completely outsung them and out celebrated them. B-e-a-utiful.

When should i write it? i react to all this United fans hypocracy and behaviour as if football were about to end with you overtaking LFC.. and as if there was written somewhere that we won´t win titles in future and eventually overcome you as well..

Sad thinking realy...even if Giggs and Scholes are realy legends of football ... they are both not part of United´s 19 or how others should understand it? Did they play alone as Giggs FC and Scholes FC? becouse there was many similar or who knows, maybe even more talented players playing in other clubs as well.. not sorounded buy such quality team as United have at their peak, those players maybe never were able to win the title, wich don´t make them worse then Giggs or Scholes (I´m not talking about Liverpool players only)

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread,

Trying to undermine a rival team's celebration is not "reasonable discussion".

LMFAO

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread,

 Didn't notice that! Good Spot.

We've overtaken Liverpool Pipa, we've now (officially) knocked you off your perch and it means much more to fans of the 70/80's than it does to me but still a massive moment and which is very respectful to Liverpool in the fact it means so much for us to overtake you lot.

Yes as you pointed out (whilst saying you didn't want to point it out) and in avatar you've won the European Cup more than us so your still ahead in that respect, hopefully we can catch you on that and then go beyond :))

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread,

I don't think this is a rare or unreasonable concept, personally. Sports is by its very nature competitive. In any match teams compete against each other, across a year they compete against all other in the league and over time they compete for records.

United's 19th English League championship is only notable above every other one because it means they are now the most successful domestic team in English league history. That strikes me as something worth celebrating. No?

Think about it. When Federer won his 15th (?) grand slam, it wasn't about that year or that tournament, it was about overtaking Sampras. If Woods sorts his life out and wins a couple more majors, it will be about him overtaking Nicholas. A better example would be if the Boston Red Sox went on a long run of World Series wins, and overtook the Yankees. It would all about them overtaking New York.

Ignoring the banter between fans (which is completely natural and fun), United should celebrate this year because of what it means in their greater history. They have now won their league more than any other team. They are the most successful British domestic club. In much the same way that Liverpool were able to say that, right up to 3 years ago.

And if you think that, should Liverpool win next year, a single Liverpool fan will fail to point out that they're level on titles with United, you're deluding yourself.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Good to see vann coming out just to change the thread title thought he left. Nothing like a historical moment to bring out the Love I see.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

All I hope is that we do all our business early, get the players in and settled ahead of pre season.

We'll definitely get a keeper, and likely one reasonably flexible midfielder.

Dreamland would be Neuer, Sanchez and a central midfielder, more realistic will be Steklenberg, Young and Henderson.

Lots of chat about a pay as you play deal for Hargreaves. Must be freaking awesome for those 15 minutes in training every 6 months.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Hahaha yeah Mr. Hargreaves has hit the jackpot! it's like he won the lottery!

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Im not worried about the keeper, I think whoever we bring in will be very good, I don't expect a "Who?!" with that one.

Sanchez is unbelievably talented , I'd be over the moon with us landing him but City and Barcelona are interested so that's a tough one.

I have a feeling we'll land Adam or Henderson, Not a major fan of either but SAF knows what he's doing so you have to trust him.

I expect a busy summer though with outgoings and 4-5 new faces coming in including players on loan.

Neuer's agreed a deal to go to Bayern I think.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Im hoping Cleverley gets a shot next year, not sure whats gonna happen to Welbeck, dont think Diouf will come back from Blackburn, and with VDS, Scholes and a couple of others leaving the club will need the type of investmant alot of supporters have wanted to see for the past 2-3 seasons.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

And thanks for giving us some extra money ;)

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Yep, always original are United fans.

Do you need the extra money back? How much is your debt now? Perhaps your fans should concentrate more on getting rid of the Glazers and on your own team?

What happened to that green and gold campaign anyway? Seems to have died out completely, I guess you're not bothered now you've won the league and all is well again? Good momentum there!

Til the club is sold indeed. Or until we get bored. Kinda like popping up in the Utd thread after months just when you've won the league having been gone for months. Nice. Nothing to do with glory hunting then?
