Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We need a GK and either a David Silva or Ozil who can play CAM and LW. Were sorted otherwise.

About the 1 signing, Eden Hazard.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I've said before, why the hell didnt we look at Sneijder or Robben in the summer! Too late for either now so i'd like us to sign Owen Hargreaves.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I still think that Hargreaves is best used for Champions League. Kind of sad that he can't help this year cause with a midfield of three, he'd play the DMF role the best in our whole squad.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He's not in the CL squad, is he? I hope he is. Totally agree with what you're saying.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

hargreaves can't be add because Ferguson don't add him in is 2nd list after the january transfert.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Shame as he could have been a real asset for it. Good news about Rooney being fit for tomorrow, hopefully him and Berbatov can start together.

Nani's signed a new deal, been much much better since January. hopefully he'll keep improving and have a good WC and have a blinder next year.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Ridiculous refereeing. In a way, I'm glad Rooney's not on the pitch because he would have gone mental.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Can't complain about the result, slightly dampens the Chelsea result as well. Shit refereeing though.

Another strike for Owen Goals. We should give him a squad number! :P

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We did. Great replacement for Ronaldo.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

F*ck sake. I'm 100% sure that Vida will get a ban now, because the media smell blood. Why always us? Gerrard gets away with it ahead of our game. Malouda gets away with it ahead of our game. But hey presto, ina physical game where at least 3 united players are also elbowed (including Berbatov, who was given a foul AGAINST) going for high balls we'll get punished. I f*cking hate the FA. Bet they ban Evra too.

If you watch it on the replay, there's nothing wrong with it. No premeditation, he's just up higher and using his arms. Eyes never leave the ball. If that's violent conduct we might as well stop making it a contact sport. As I said with the Ramsey incident - you can't punish actions based on outcomes, it has to be on the action itself. It sucks that poor lil Elmander bled a little, but for f*cks sake how many times a match do he and Keven Davies do the same thing.

Dysfunctional is a compliment.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I know it's ridiculous. One minute they can't override the ref's decision, then when it suits them they can, it's bullshit.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well then, I stand corrected. And apologise to the FA. The media still suck.

Robben to play? Does anyone who watches the Bundesliga know how effective Ribery/Robben are at defending? I mean, we'll likely have both Nani and Valencia on the pitch - if neither of those two defend it surely plays into our hands?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Ribery does it a little (not much but think of Ronaldo who sometimes got into defensive positions) but Robben will do fuck all defensively (he might not play though if he's injured.

How good were Berba and Nani on Sunday :DD. Berbatov is finally playing some really good stuff and seems perfect for what we currently work with.

Nani is turning in good/great performances lately, seems to finally be having a great 2nd half to the season, Considering its his 3rd year (just like it was with Ronaldo in 05/06 who had very good 2nd half of that season) if he can finish this season in this form, have a WC to remember and comeback next season on fire :...

Just throwing this out there how many of you will be on suicide watch if we end up signing no one in the Summer? Cause I can actually see us making any big name signings at all. I think SAF is quite happy with our squad.

Anyone see Tosic's goals the other day? Hope he can replicate this for us! Messi MK2 ;))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Re: signings

I agree Fergie looks happy-ish with the squad, but I don't think it's as good as our achievements make it look. A lot depends on our own players. If Hargreaves is actually fit and still the player he was, we don't really need that type of player. If Obertan can show that he's an able backup. If Tosic returns. If Mickey Owen heals. If Rio's back injury is done. If Vida stays.

Think, obviously from that, it depends. I would like to see at least sign someone to take over from VDS to give them a year to bed in, and a striker (because, like I said before, Rooney will not play this many games next season)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Why the need of a Striker? We have Rooney as first choice, Berbatov as a partner/sub and Macheda (and Welbeck aswell) who will IMO develop into a good player. I didn't even mention Owen whose another alternative option to what Berba brings.
