I'm nowhere near as confident as most United fans. Bayern are hitting form at the right time, and I don't think the Milan result was a) as clear cut and b) as due to them having no legs after 40 minutes. We're still vunerable.

The best team we've had in recent times was 2 seasons ago, and our best players in that Champions League campaign were Ronaldo, Tevez and Hargreaves.

Still, I'm excited to play Bayern again - didnt' they already put us out once since 99? Robben v Gary Neville...eeeeeeep!

Very good draw to be honest, we can't have much to complain about. Were better than Bayern so if we play like we can then we should be fine considering Bayern scraped past (Unjustly might I add) Fiorentina.

It will most likely be Ribery V Rafael anyway and with Valencia he gets great help.

I think Bayern are a great club...so again, I don't share as much confidence as the most of you about this draw. Such stuff might pop up and smack your face hard. On the other hand, the two french sides should be "easier", but like how Lyon took care of Real, anything can happen. We must be on the cautious side for all the remaining matches...(I agree that it looks like a repeat of last year's final)

And great to see Hargreaves back!!! It definitly is like a new signing mid-season!

Woah that video is nostalgia.

Giovanne Elber was the bane of our defence for so long.

Anyways I'm gutted cause I get back from Munich the day before the match, not that I would've been able to get a ticket.

I advise anyone who can get a ticket to go because Munich is a lovely, lovely place.

Nah it'll cost too much to do it and there's five of us who're going including a Liverpool fan who cannot stand us/our team/our fans/etc.

Who knows though, I might be able to see the team at the airport or something.

Well a lot of your fans (obviously not all of them) often seem 'disturbed' by our recent success (and your lack of) coming out with all sorts of bollocks about us and a lot of it is very, VERY bitter.

It was just an off the cuff comment anyway, no harm intended. :)

There's talk at the minute of Liverpool fans wearing yellow and green scarves tomorrow as a show of solidarity against the American owners. I don't think it'll happen tbh because there's a lot that are against it for various reasons (a lot of them can't/won't forgive mancs for the 96 wasn't enough and all that) but there are some that are willing to make some kind of gesture along the lines of the yellow/green.

I think it'd be a great gesture, it'd certainly get more coverage than a few hundreds nobheads from SOS singing protest songs at the end of the match. But like i said, there's a lot of ill feeling between the two clubs and i can't see it happening.

Plus i reckon loads of mancs would take it the wrong way, assuming we were either taking the piss out of them or piggybacking on their thing.

I think it'd be taken in the wrong way to be honest, though it is a nice gesture. If there'd been some announcement from a fans group through MUST or something and there was a bit of awareness then maybe but if you'd not said this now I'd have taken it as a pisstake when I saw it. Whenever there's been talk of both sets of fans going on a joint protest together it's not been looked on favourably for obvious reasons. It's not like the old days anymore where both sets of fans get along.

The tribalistic aspect of football rivalries will get in the way of that, even though it's obviously a much bigger and important issue than a local rivalry.

What a brilliant day. A win against our fellow scousers and a Chelsea draw. Plus United are back at the top of the league.

I'm loving that new role they gave Park. He's such a great player to have. I wish he would get more recognition.

And another Rooney goal. 10 more to go!

Eh?

Great day today :)) Beating Liverpool and Chelsea slipping up. I thought we were the better side and deserved it, even if the Scousers think it was down to the FA/Ref/Aliens.

Park and Fletcher were supurb and gave us what we lacked in our previous 3 losses with that extra grit and determination.

Hopefully we can keep the run going and get number 19 :))

Having Rio and Vidic back made things a lot easier too. Along with Torres having a bad day :LOL: If he had any more luck, we probably would have lost.
