Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Told you I'd probably get it wrong!
I forgot about Josh King. He looks promising as well.

I'd like to see Matthew James or Magnus Eikrem given a chance in the first team should we need cover in midfield. Gibson has been a bit disappointing lately...
He'll probably score a screamer against City now to shut me up!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Diouf seems to be better in the air than he is on the ground, from watching the goal compliations it seems most of them are headers. He's got an awesome leap given his size and I think with Nani, Valencia and Giggsy crossing into the box he'd be a fair sight more dangerous than Owen, Rooney or Berba are.

Macheda's still only 18 so I'd say Diouf was ahead of him now though he's been unlucky this season when he's had a chance in the first team. He's hit the post once or twice and Akinfeev pulled off a fantastic save to deny him, then he had the injury disrupting his form, but he'll be alright, there's no need to rush him.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Totally forgot about the age difference. Diouf is 4 years older. That's a significant age gap. When theres not much difference in quality, you'd have to go with the young guy if you want him to progress further as a player.
But I can't help but feel Kiko is gonna be one of those who'll do well for us and then use us as a stepping stone to move to another club somewhere in Spain or Italy.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

:LMAO: That's Genius Jumbo. Might need to go down that route with something :DD

Apparently Fulham have accepted a bid from us for Chris Smalling. Havent seen much of him but he played well against chelsea (apart from the O.G.!) and he must be in dreamland having gone from non-league to being linked with teams in the Champions League within a year or two.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He's got until 6pm tomorrow to respond, the hearing is actually on Thursday so he'll definitely be available for City but will begin his 8 month ban for the Arsenal game, unless by some miracle they find him not guilty.

As much as Fagan was being a twat (and he really was), I can't help but feel Rio has acted like an absolute idiot doing this and he really should know better.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hahaha sorry, yeah I was referencing the last time Rio was up in front of an FA disciplinary panel. ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hang on a minute...Why is Evra getting a 4 match ban?! I'm knew somehow Rio will get punished for that lashout at that cunt Fagan.Hope it wont be lengthy or just a fine would suffice because he looked like his best against Hull.

Chris Smalling signed and no one saw that coming.Havent seen much of him except for that Chelsea game but he must have created big impressions on Sir Alex and our scout because Roy Hodgson said that we have been on Smalling's trail for some time now.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Has anybody heard about the supposed bust-up Anderson had with the Gaffer resulting him in missing training. Its also reported in a brasilian website that he had returned to Brasil and signed for Vasco Da Gama?!
Hope its just utter bullshit!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I read something about that over the weekend. Apparently Fergie gave him the hairdryer after a poor performance against City, and dropped him for the Hull game. IMO he's been better than Carrick & Scholes this season, so I'd be surprised if it was just him that got a bollocking after that game.

Sounds like something from the News of the World that the other papers have run with, probably more due to the unhappy Brazilian over the road.

I'd be suprised if he left now anyway, as we'd have almost no time to bring in someone else.

Let's give him his preferred attacking role (either tonight or against Portsmouth next week) instead of trying to make him into a Scholesy type player and see if he can impress.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Anderson won't be sold, Lads one of our key components for the future. Midfielders take longer to mature then most positions unless your name is Fabregas.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Rio has denied the charge of violent conduct which means he'll be available tonight but if the FA deem this frivolous, he could end up with a 4 game ban like what happened with Mascherano and Michael Turner.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Goddamn it, Rooney's upfront alone again.

I'm hoping Nani will try to get a few shots on goal.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I KNEW IT!!! Some1 would score in the extra time! United did! :D

Great game mates, really enjoyed the pace, the passion and the overall intensity of the game, not the best but was really entertaining.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Another 4-3 against City, another goal in injury time, another wonderful result and the chance to shout 'Fuck off' at Tevez and the rest of them.

Lovely stuff.

We're the famous Man United and we're off to Wem-ber-ley!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Heres a nice message to city, city fans and tevez

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

:DD GET IN!

Ahh "That feeling" scoring in injury time against Citeh and seeing that fuckwit Tevez silenced, never gets old.

We played very well second half and really upped it a level, Rooney and the midfielders especially.

Wembley here we come! (even if it is a shithole) :))

Havent felt like this since...errr...the last time we beat City.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

HAHA, i just wanted to point out that I loved the small "monkey in the middle" with Evans, VDS and Ferdinand around Tevez...hahaha...That made my day!

Great play Rooney. Always knew that he'd come and do something special for us again.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Had a couple of good texts today:

What's had 34 MOT's but never turned a wheel?
City's open top bus.
=============================================

Breaking News: Man City are considering a new sponsorship deal with Viagra... For those times when you wait years for a semi, only to lose it right at the end!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Rio's banned for 4 games, so misses matches against Arsenal, Portsmouth, Aston Villa and Everton...

Hahaha. I got sent another:

Man City's game will now have to be shown on the XXX Channel because watching 11 arseholes get pounded for 90 minutes is just to explicit for normal TV.

Fantastic result last night, we were by far the better team although with Tevez and the pace of Bellamy they were always dangerous on the break. Rooney's ball into Giggs for the first goal was just breathtaking and it was fitting that he got the winner in injury time (by the way, fantastic keeping on that by Given ;))). It's a shame about the coin/bottle throwing and there's not really any excuse for it but Bellamy invites this kind of stuff on himself with his attitude and I can't say I'm surprised. It's a bit like rotten tomatoes being thrown on stage at actors in the theatre in the old days I suppose, apart from it hurts more! Good of him to milk it as well, I dont think the natural reaction is to lie down on the floor right infront of the crowd who've just thrown a coin at him is it? Cock. How he went both legs without getting booked is a fucking joke.

Re: Rio. It's crap but he had it coming. One thing that annoys me and I think needs changing is the system. In everyday criminal law, you are charged with something, then taken to court and you have a chance to have your say, justify/deny what you did and explain your actions. Only after hearing this, is it the length of your sentence decided (if any, you could be found not guilty).

In football however, it's a bit differnet. Having seen replays the FA decides what Rio did was violent conduct. So they charge him with it. Fair enough. So then Rio has a choice of accepting the charge with automatic 3 match ban, OR if he dares, denying the charge which 9/10 results in an extended ban. How exactly is this fair?

The Michael Turner incident was worse than this. He got sent off for elbowing, which from looking at the replays appeared accidental. He appeals and his 3 match ban for violent conduct is extended for the 'frivolous' appeal.

It's fucked up.
