They are our original colours when we were known as Newton Heath in the 1890's before we changed our name to Manchester United and we wear them as a protest against the Glazer's.

WOW! Didn't see that coming, was pretty sceptical all week and was expecting a loss/draw but didn't see us doing that to them (Again! Was identical to the CL Semi).

What a brilliant piece of individual brilliance by Nani  I've always known the kid to have the talent but maybe know he's finally reached that point where his game is coming together. If he can continue in this vein we've really got that "Spark" we've been missing since Ron left.

What a awesome display of centre forward play by Rooney today eh? Simply stunning how good he's playing and surely if he keeps up in this vein he'll be a contender for all the top honours at the end of the season. 100 goals in the PL, 22 for the season :)).

Though Scholes, Evans and Brown both deserve mentions also, all three were very important in that win especially the latter two with Rio and Vidic being out.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I know we are on hot form but that result left us on fire!
Terrific counter-attacking football totally floored Arsenal who I didnt think had a bad game at all. Some of their possession at the edge of our box put me at the edge of my seat.Thank God little Arshavin forgot to bring his scoring boots.
Special mention goes to Carrick too for finally turning it on after about 20 minutes into the game. That little one-two off Park and Scholes and then that final lofted ball to Park was SUBLIME.
Lets not get carried away with Nani...yes we have his doubters but we have his believers just as much too.Yes he is on hot form but lets just see how long can he keep this up...and he need not look any further that towards our boy with the number 10 on his back.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well done to Fergie for switching tactics after 15 minutes.
As soon as Scholesy moved further forward, there was a big gap in the middle of the pitch, which allowed Fletcher & Carrick a lot of time to do what they're good at, and at the same time cut off most options for Fabregas.

I feel a bit sorry for Valencia though. After some great performances lately I can't see why he's been benched the last few games...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Because Nani has been awesome in his last 4 games, Valencia is a good player but he's limited in what he can produce albeit very consistent and you need players like that. Nani has personally much bigger potential but im sure we'll see Valencia back in the team soon.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I am sure Sir Alex has it in his mind to play Nani on the left and Valencia on the right supporting Rooney....Its just a matter of when he is gonna play those cards.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think its a matter of choosing either Nani or Valencia on one side to create chances and have either Park or Giggs on the other side to have someone who's willing to track back but also attack when asked to.
I mean, we are at our best whilst counter attacking so that idea makes sense.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I wonder if we'll eventually move him to the left or will SAF let Valencia and Nani fight it out whilst getting a LM in the summer.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Sir Alex's hoping Hargo will be fit for the Milan games. Can we afford to take such a risk?

YouTube - Evra on life at United [HQ]

Quality video, Paddy really is United through and through now.

Interesting what he says about SAF's reaction to losing and that having a manager tell you it'll be ok when you lose can lead to accepting mediocrity, could this be whats happened at Liverpool for example? Rafa keeps assuring them they are fine and the situation just gets worse? I can't imagine him launching into one after a defaat, when he's angry he just seems to furrow his brow and talk abit faster and more abruptly!

I love it when he says "If we lose to Arsenal, on Monday - you better hide!"

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Definitely deserves to wear the captains armband next, He really is United through and through.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It's a though call between him and Rooney. They'd both make great captains.
