Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.
Makes no difference if Neville gets away with it or not, he's been pretty poor every time he's played lately anyway and there's no way SAF would match him against Bellamy or any other pacy left winger again if he can help it.
I thought it was a really good match yesterday, very close and I think a draw would have been a fair result but I'm happy enough to go into the second leg a goal down.
Don't really like to blame refs but I'll just say it wouldn't surprise me if City take the MOTM award off Tevez and present it to Scouse Dean at some point!

He was very poor, fair enough letting a few hairy challenges go without a booking due to the occasion (Giggs, Tevez, Evra) but allowing Bellamy to fly about like he did for a five minute spell clattering into people (the Valencia incident was the worst) and not booking him and then booking VdS for 'timewasting' on the penalty is just stupid.
The penalty was a hard one, with the aid of replays we can see he's got it all wrong and it should have been a freekick but he made it clear it was for the second pull, which is the one that didnt happen, Bellamy just fell over but on first viewing I can see why he might have thought there was one. Nevermind anyway. The defending for the second goal was abysmal, totally amateur from Brown and Evans and just highlights how much we need Rio and/or Vidic back.
Another thing, surely SAF will reconsider his view that Rooney and Owen can't play together?! As soon as Owen came on yesterday it just opened up the pitch for Wayne to work his magic and he put it in the best performance he has for us for a while, all that was missing was a goal. That weaving run and outside of the boot shot was fucking brilliant! Anyway, the way they linked up together was fantastic and I think SAF would be an idiot not to try them together again.
Roll on next week.
