Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We have too many young wingers it seems. We're just gonna have to loan some of them out. From the looks of things, it would have to be Tosic cuz if we loaned Nani out and he improved, he seems like the kind of player who will want to make the deal permanent. Nani has already tasted glory with us so he's got less to fight for. Its only worth loaning out someone who hasnt broke through yet.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Didn't Obertan play as a right winger before he joined us?

I'm sure whenever I saw him play in the past, he played on the right.

I think the fact Evra is also on the left side helps Obertan in terms of communication, which is probably one of the reasons he's been played there.

And where does Tosic fit in this?

Yeh Obertan can play all across the front, Left, Right and even through the middle. I think we'll put them into to groups. I think the right will be Park/Valencia with the left Obertan/Nani/Giggs (Could add Tosic but I don't see it). It could change once Ljajic comes but no one truly knows where he'll play.

Agreed Rune to some extent but its one of those where the numbers game is telling us surely 1 or 2 will turn out to be good enough. Cleverley is looking good at Watford also.

P.S. Thought I'd randomly throw in some Ober the top skill :...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I dont know why but I cant help but think Obertan is eventually gonna turn into a striker for us.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I hope not. I'd rather have a scoring winger like Ronaldo. I didn't like it either when he was playing as a striker.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Gaby Obertan needs to bulk it up before being turned into a forward.
Ronaldo used to be stick skinny too in his first season but he hit the gym, took some pills and drank lots of milk! Now hes is a mega superstar!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

To be fair, Ronaldo was probably one if not the most hardworking player in our team. I'm sure he spent a huge amount of time in the gym. He didn't get to where he is now because of luck.

Damn I miss him, more than I think I would. He was just so special.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah, he was an incredible athlete, not just a good footballer. He had arguably the strongest mentality and will to win than anyone else I've known in recent times and all that alone made him irreplaceable, not just his tricks and freekicks.

Is it me or does Mourinho always sound like he wants to come to us at some point? From the looks of that article, he doesnt want to go back to Chelsea cuz he feels his job there is done.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Has anybody seen the tackle that got Ronaldo out since Real's CL game against Marseille? Mannn, that is one hell of a tackle and for once,I feel for Ronaldo...he was lucky not to break his ankles or tear any ligaments like Van Pierse did, thanks to Chiellini...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Moyes will be the better choice Blanc w`d be too easy for Wenger. Blanc thinks Wenger`s a God , will have a laugh if that happens.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Never stopped many of Fergie's disciples give us a tough time.

Imagine him bring in Barthez as a Goalkeeping Coach and kiss his bald head before every match.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So what's up with Hargreaves? He was supposed to be back this month but we've not heard from him for a while.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Good. I don't want to see him rushed back in, especially at this time of the season.

As long as he is fit for the run-in near the end of the season, where it really matters, I'll be happy.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'm worried about Hargo - looks like he's still not in proper training from Fergie's comments today. This gently gently approach strikes me as more a 'we wish he was fit, but he's not improving so we don't know what to do'.

Still strikes me as a rather determined chap, so hopefully he'll be back one day...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Whats up with this thread? Its been dead for 4 days.

EDIT
By the way.
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5706595,00.html

The retarded International break and Henry being caught cheating stuff. I miss United playing :((

Can't fucking wait for tomorrow. :DD Apart from losing the likes of O'Shea and Evans we've had Nani put in some decent performances for Portugal and Vidic/Park getting game time.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

A fully fit Hargo linking up just after the winter break will be a huge boost for us, especially after everyone else in the league is jaded.
With the position we're in, it might be the best approach to take it easy now and then go all out towards the end. Unlike Arsenal right now cuz on this form, you'd consider them the favourites for all honours but like every year, they can never keep it up till the end of the season.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

This is our chance to go on a long Run, Our fixtures compared to Chelsea/Arsenal are much better from now till January.

Berba can do with going on a run of games with goals. His record for Bulgaria is brilliant.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What a finish from Fletch, he's been brilliant once again.

We're playing some lovely stuff at the minute, but I have two issues so far.

We're only 1-0 up and neither Rooney nor Owen has had a shot on goal yet.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Dury is out for me on Owen as being our 3rd choice Striker. Not sure what he brings that Macheda wouldn't or even a Welbeck and Berba/Roon sounds quite exciting.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well Owen's movement is the best in our squad. He just cant finish it off.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah his movement is World Class, Finishing on the other hand isn't. I think Macheda's had that knack though of getting on the end of things though.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Its still a tough call though. The way I'm seeing it is that Macheda can still play in the reserves or be loaned out, Owen can't.
Plus with the vision Rooney has with his flicks and passes, only someone like Owen can get on the end of them. We just have to hope he starts putting them away more often.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah remember he hasn't played for over 2 weeks so was bound to be a little rusty. I thought he did well, none of them were EASY chances they were always on his left foot or at a bad angle. The one that he was likely to put away Rooney didn't quite weight the pass to him right.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I thought Owen did a great job in his runs...again the most active player during most parts of the game...but his finishing really isn't where it was before. So hope that it's just a little rust that will be dusted off with more games.

Fletcher's shot was unbelievable! Great to win and jump to 2nd place in the league...

Btw, guys i need some help. I'll be visiting London in December and I am thinking of getting tickets (if i can) to see Villa on the 12th. but i will be in London during that time, so do you guys know whats the cheapest/best way to get from London to Old Trafford and back? I heard that there's a station at the south stand of OT, but I can't find any info on it online. Any help is appreciated. Thx!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

A train from London Euston to Manchester Picadilly would be best (not sure on the price you could probably get it really cheap if you get it well in advance www.thetrainline.com) and then you can either get a bus/taxi/train/tram to OT from there.
